We had a lovely stay here, the house was stunning as was the location. The host went above beyond to make our stay memorable. There were a few glitches while we were there (just bad luck) but Gavin was excellent, responding quickly and he generously refunded us a night of our stay. Other reviews mention the water, this really isn't an issue its a private water supply which is common in Scotland.. boil it or bring your own!

When things don’t go quite right, what a difference it makes to have patient and helpful guests. Thank you!
We had a lovely stay here. Gavin was on hand if we had any problems. We were looking for a real break to spend quality family time and this met all our needs.
Fantastic stay with very welcoming hosts. The house is lovely and very spacious even with 10 staying. Gavin was extremely helpful and friendly. We'll be back!
We booked this lovely property to celebrate my mums 60th which was absolutely perfect..as she didn’t want a fuss and somewhere to relax and have some scenery which didn’t disappoint, we arrived slightly earlier than check in time and we were able to check, thanks to Ari! Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely complementary welcome basket with local cider, cheese, oatcakes, shortbread, milk & wood fire, the place is a lot bigger than shown online, downstairs has 2 bedrooms, one bedroom with en suite.. one separate shower room with toilet and a separate toilet to the rear of the house, upstairs has a georgous bathroom with 3 separate bedrooms and a single toilet not forgetting the utility room with a fridge freezer and a lovely relaxing hallway with a comfy seat and lamp! Couldn’t have Asked for anything better mum was delighted with the place, Gavin came round a few times to see if we needed anything lovely pleasant guy! Not forgetting his dogs who came to welcome us and had a wee run around with our dogs! Also the horses walking past was lovely even stopped and let us have a wee pet! Don’t hesitate just book it…… thanks again to everyone!

It's a bit of a shame really, this looked like a great place for a large number of friends to get together for a fun weekend away. Unfortunately the owners employ subterfuge and shady tactics to cover up the fact that the property has potted water piped into it. That means all your taps, showers, baths, sinks and you guessed it hot tub, flow with a smelly brown water clearly being pulled from a private water supply. We had a good time overall using the space but when we left, early, we were smelly and a little dehydrated. It has potential but this is something which needs to be far more transparent when you are actually making the booking in the months prior. The owners were not interested in remedial efforts even with the pictures we shared with them and so I leave it to you to decide. Is that what you want to bathe yourself in for a few nights? Maybe we should have been more vigilant and spotted this in the welcome note we got a couple of weeks before we were all due to travel but to save you finding the fine print I'll just put it here for you.

This is a very odd review, given that The Coach House has hundreds of 5 star reviews (mostly on other platforms as we are quite new to VRBO) with no complaints at all about the water. This guest was perfectly happy when I visited during his stay; the subject of water only being raised after check out. The local authority carries out regular analyses of all private water supplies and I sent the guest the latest test results to reassure him that the water was perfectly safe. The guest continued to press until I ruled out any prospect of compensation which in turn led to this review, which is disingenuous.
The water at Slogarie is sourced from a spring in the hills and sometimes picks up a slight colouration from the peaty ground that it runs through. It subsequently runs through multiple micro fibre and ultra violet filters; it is not treated with chlorine or any other additives. All local authorities in Scotland insist that property owners on private water supplies advise their guests to drink and clean their teeth with bottled or boiled water. For this reason, we advise guests of the situation in our Welcome Note and provide them with sufficient bottled water for their first day or two. With regard to this guest's review, it was noted that only about three litres, of the ten litres of bottled water provided, had been consumed. The guest's claim of dehydration, if true, was not from the lack of potable water.
At Slogarie we are more than happy to discuss our water supply (which we are very proud of!) with potential guests and share any information as required.
