The views off the back deck area and swing were amazing. Very close to Mentone downtown and very quiet. Very much loved the cabin and views. Three things that I would change if I could. 1) The internet didn’t work at all. I tried reaching out to the host and unplugging and replugging in everything (modem and router) but it never worked while we were there. Thankfully the Verizon service on the back deck was good and I was able to use a hotspot on my phone to get some needed work done. It was still disappointing that the internet didn’t work. 2) There is a hot tub which is nice, but it had 8 total jets for 6 seats. It is the most economical / budget hot tub available. My home hot tub has 33 jets for 3 seats so this was disappointing. 3) The king size bed is on the upper level with the bunk house and the smaller shared bathroom. The king should be on the main level with the bigger bathroom so that the guest / kid area would be on the upper level. Even with those issues though, it was very nice and I’m happy we chose this place given the views.

We discovered that the equipment had been damaged by lightning, and the issue has since been repaired. As for the bedroom arrangement, the location and bed size for each sleeping area is described in the property description so guests can review the layout prior to booking. Hot tub definately needs repair or upgrade was not very hot even at 104 so heat pump may need replaced as well as jet blower switch did not work so generation to the jets was very weak also the jets need checked , had one floating in the tub where it had came loose from its mount and had to screw it back in its mount. Other than that was a very nice cabin and Holly was very helpful.

We had the best girl’s weekend. This cabin was the perfect home base. Central to all our hikes and shopping! It was the perfect home away from home. We had the best conversations with the porch looking at the views and by the campfire!

Spring break in the mountains

We’ve come to Mentone several times over the years in the fall but this was our first visit in the springtime. The Sunset Rocks was a great spot for our family. Beautiful views and only about a mile from Mentone’s main commercial center. We enjoyed the quiet and using the hot tub after spending the day hiking.

Wonderful weekend!

This was a great location- minutes to Desoto State Park and hiking. The house was perfect for our family if 4. Even in the middle of pollen season- everything was so clean! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and around the fire pit!
