About this property
1850 Charleston Single - Historic District: Walk to everything
Legal and Licensed rental (OP2025-07095). Comfortable 1200sf, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, renovated 1850 single located in old historic district in downtown Charleston in the active Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. Private courtyard with off-street parking for two smaller cars or one large truck. Walk out the door to the King Street design and restaurant district, the Visitor Center, the Farmers Market, and everything Charleston has to offer.
The house is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antiques. It includes a fully equipped open kitchen, a living and dining room and a powder room downstairs, a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom upstairs. Also included is a washer/dryer, flat screen TV with cable, hi-speed internet, and a docking station. The outdoor area includes a table and chairs. Outdoor dining area limited if two vehicles parked off street.
IMPORTANT!!! Please take notice that a large adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and will last through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences in the area, including all legal short term rentals in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays). The City allows work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will unfortunately be disruptive for everyone. The bright side is there will be a new park adjacent to us upon completion and we won’t stare onto an empty unmaintained parking lot.
Check out d'Alessandros Pizza, Chubby Fish, Barsa Tapas Bar, The Daily, Chez Nous, Revolution Coffee, the Grocery, Vern’s, The Ordinary, Indaco, Leon's, The Darling Oyster, Maison, Little Jack's Tavern, Cannon Green, The Rarebit, Malagon, and Island Provisions... all within a few blocks. Shop the King Street stores or explore the Cannon/Elliotborough boutiques like Indigo & Cotton, Mac&Murray and Beads on Cannon. Day spas, salons and yoga studios are also located in close proximity.
Located convenient to College of Charleston, MUSC, Charleston School of Law, and The Citadel. 20 minute drive to beaches and 15 minutes to Charleston International Airport. Quick access to all major transportation routes.
Owners are nearby and can promptly respond to concerns or offer assistance as needed.
Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please send a photo of the lockbox key and also the two keys left inside. This has saved numerous keys from accidentally going home with guests.

We stayed the weekend for a wedding. The house was close to the venue and easy to get to access. The owner communicated well and answered all our questions. We would recommend and stay again.
Everything was close and an easy connection to King and Market Streets with wonderful restaurants. My only complaint was the loud noise both Friday and Saturday night due to nearby parties Very nice property
Very clean, great shower. Perfect for the three of us. Although we didn’t cook I noticed the kitchen was well-stocked with equipment. Perfect location for walking around or a quick Uber.
We had a great stay at this property! Communication with the host was great and the house had everything we needed. The location was very walkable to all that King Street has to offer and having the parking spot at the house was a huge bonus since we drove down. We were there Thursday-Sunday and construction was only happening on Thursday and Friday morning so it did not really affect our experience (we knew about the construction prior to booking). Outside noise was a little loud while trying to sleep but that can be expected when staying downtown in a lively city. We would happily book again in the future and recommend this property to anyone!
Great stay. The host was very communicative which is appreciated. House is very nice and close to EVERYTHING! Walkable anywhere! Bathrooms are updated, showers are hot. Definitely recommended!
Lovely home, super charming, great location!! However, there is construction next door. Not a place for light sleepers. We didn’t spend much time inside as we were out touring so it wasn’t bad for us. Would definitely stay here again once construction is complete.
Beautifully restored historic home! Stocked with everything we needed. Great location. Walking distance to pretty much everywhere with easy access to the free trolley if you choose! Great spot to celebrate our 35th Anniversary! Thanks!
It was a great girls trip. Frank the host was so informative about the area. Restaurants and things to do in Charleston. Our location was ideal. We walked and took an uber when needed. Very close to everything. The pizza place across the street from really good. And the breakfast bakery too.
Great stay in Charleston for Thanksgiving! Close to everything, but not too close!

About the host
Hosted by Frank Iwanicki
We are long time Charleston residents and love food, dining out and the city in general. We both moved here about 25 years ago and like so many others never left... Being avid travelers ourselves we hope we can make guests feel as welcome as we have felt in many locations around the world.
Why they chose this property
We acquired the house to give other people the opportunity to enjoy our city as much as we do. Our guest house is conveniently located close to the most happening area in Charleston and we are excited to share it and our excitement about the neighborhood with visitors.
What makes this property unique
This is the location for people who want to be in an active neighborhood and like to dine out, drink, shop and explore. Everything is right on your doorstep.
