ROMANTIC TROUT FISHING CABIN - WiFi, HotTub FirePit, Blue Ridge, RiverMistCabin

We are just 90 minutes from Atlanta in a place of exceptional natural beauty offering peace & quiet plus championship trout fishing. This cabin is just 10 miles from Blue Ridge, GA, which is an upscale mountain town offering fine dining, shopping, antiquing, festival's and a vibrant art scene. Surrounded by mountains, lakes & streams there's plenty of opportunities for rafting, tubing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and horseback riding. Very accessible from both Atlanta & Chattanooga. Wildlife is abundant such as deer, raccoons, hawks and eagles. The master bedroom/bath is on the main level for easy access with a brand new king size bed and now has a 38” TV (not yet shown in photo). The loft has 2 queen size beds, TV, shower, with futon on the top deck. There are easy steps down to the creek for fishing and wading. White water raft the famous Ocoee River, Tube down Fightingtown Creek, or canoe the Toccoa River, they are all so close! The Ocoee Whitewater Center, site of the 1996 Olympics Whitewater Competition, is just 25 minutes away. We are nestled back in a quiet peaceful small gated community close to shopping, grocery stores, hospital, etc.

This was a precious little quaint spot in the woods. It was a place that my hubby and I (tired business owners x3 businesses) could relax and unwind. I loved the communication and care that was deeply felt from the owners. There thought of everything. I pray the Lord allows us to stay here again. For us, it was perfect!!!

We had a great time in spite of the flooding that had recently happened and high water as there was plenty to do besides trout fishing. Very clean and as described. The owners were great and quick to communicate with.

This was our third trip to River Mist and it was the nice again excellent! Doug and Loraine are fantastic hosts and we will be back again to float down the river and enjoy the stars next to the fire pit!

Doug was very helpful. Quickly responding and answered all my questions. Beautiful location with nearby neighbors but still very private. The hot tub was clean and well maintained in a great location. August temperatures were hot but the shaded porch and balcony with ceiling fans made it very pleasant to hang out to enjoy the view and listen to the creek. Lots of great places to eat nearby. Road in might be a bit of a challenge for a low clearance vehicle but our SUV did great. I didn’t catch any fish but had fun trying!

Hi Patrick, thanks for leaving us a five star review!! we try hard to make sure every one of our guests are happy. Sorry you weren’t able to hook into one of these trout. Seems the water hasn’t quite cleared as much as I was hoping since we had that big storm that flooded our local town…even made the Atlanta news! Most the main roads have been repaired, but the little roads around here still need some work. It’ll be a week before they get to the smaller roads, but they move real quick so it shouldn’t be any challenge even with the low lying vehicles. Thanks again and we hope to see you guys back soon.!

What a great little cabin on the water! We had a great time in the woods with this secluded and quiet property. Perfect for our group of 4 and could easily with up to 6 people. Being on the creek for fishing and the sounds of rolling water was very relaxing. Rustic cabin feel with hot tub, grill, great porch overlooking the back yard and creek and fire pit for smores. It really is a great place. Only wish is we had more time to stay vs go home to work! Doug was easy and great to work with and communicated with me during our stay. We will be back!

River mist is a great place to relax and have a great time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. It has outside games and a great fire pit area. The creek is awsome to hang out by and fish in. The hosts was great with getting the information to you with directions and access. We will definitely be coming back here again

Lovely cabin, all the aminities you would expect.Trout fishing was awsume and loved the peice and quite of lounging on the deck. Drive way was a breeze to get up and down in a mini van ft wheel drive. Blue ridge is very nice and so is mcaysville. Our 2nd year visting the area. Owner was very nice and called just to check in.

We enjoy the quiet here but also the many outdoor activities available in this area. Our favorite activities are fishing, tubing, rafting, exploring & sitting on the deck looking at the sparkling river. Even in the winter, we love sitting on the upper deck rocking chairs or the sofa downstairs, drinking hot Irish Coffee and watching the river flow by on a Saturday morning after a hard week of work in the city. What therapy! I always enjoy driving up here from the south and seeing the first set of Blue Ridge Mountains on the skyline, just makes you take that long awaited exhale -- like you're finally at home again. Guess I'm a mountain man after all. Ya'll come on over here and enjoy!

Why they chose this property

This area has all of the outdoor activities we could ever ask for plus exceptional outdoor beauty, it also makes a very romantic get away. There's nothing that compares to watching a Blue Herring at the bank of Fighting Town creek hunting trout. They get really big up here, wing span of 6'. The stars above on a clear night will AMAZE you! It is very convenient to the town of Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Atlanta, Chattanooga & Knoxville. In the heat of summer it is so nice to wade into what we call our natural whirlpool (middle of the creek there is a 4.5' bowl of water) deep enough to sit on the boulders there and keep your head above water. I've almost fallen asleep there it's so relaxing. We had a renter that said that's about all they did when they were here last June. They call places like this 'God's Country', I can understand why. You really connect with nature up here. I couldn't live without our cabin now that my family has experienced it. We want to share it with everybody! I could go on and on -- the scent of the white pinewood when you open the cabin door, the hummingbirds that buzz by in the mornings, the distant howl of a coyote and her pups. Just Awesome. We love to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, go riding the 4-wheelers, fishing and tubing. I'll trade a beach get-away for this 3 to 1.
