Excellent, very well thought out property in a great area. Great for large groups. Easy check-in and check-out. Host lives on property and was very friendly and respectful of our privacy.
The house and property are absolutely beautiful. Nancy- the owner, and Daniel- the caretaker were both so friendly and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The views are awesome and the fresh air and starry nights can't be beat. I hope we can return again sometime.
absolutely beautiful set up as if you were in France. The home was absolutely beautiful large enough for our whole family and everyone absolutely loved it. The mountains in the background were gorgeous.
This place is amazing! The pictures don’t do it justice. Plenty of room for a big family! The pool and outdoor area are wonderful. We swam, got in hot tub, let the kids run in the grass and play with all the toys, play games, played pool, it so much fun. You will get here and not want to leave. The scenery is gorgeous. Wildlife, grapes on the vine, Moutan views! House is comfortable with lots of beds. Nancy the owner is close by and helpful, and so great to visit with. Highly recommend this place!

Great place to stay
Very nice place. Had everything we needed. Wonderful owner who was very easy to communicate with and responsive. Would definitely recommend!
My family celebrated my parents' 50th anniversary with this trip. This home was a perfect fit for the 13 of us. The Host and property manage were so helpful and answered all our questions. Thanks!
We had a wonderful stay. Mrs. Nancy is so attentive and welcoming. The pool is an added plus and we spent a lot of time outside even in the middle of summer. House has everything one could need. We will definitely be back!
This house is a dream! The location is outstanding and the furnishings inside are just like you are staying in a French chateau. The kids and adults both loved the green grass, the pool and hot tub, the fire pit, sandbox, the Mountain View’s and THE STARS AT NIGHT!!
Very nice. Can handle a large group. Not really for handicap or mobility limited folks. Care taker is great, comes by daily to check on any needs. Beds were very comfortable.
This house is a lot of fun! The kitchen was a little crowded when cooking for 9 people but we made it work easily enough. Everything else is where and as you’d expect it to be. Great views day and night! Plenty of outdoors to explore! I’d (and I think my family) would definitely go back.
Our stay here was wonderful - 5 days wasn't enough. Plenty to do in Fort Davis area. The house was beyond expectations - the kids loved the pool/hot tub. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out and relax. Daniel was so helpful and made us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The kids are still talking about their trip up the mountain to see the sunset with him. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Shame on me for taking so long to leave a review. Nancy is a premier host that went above and beyond anything you could have asked. Her property manager, Daniel, was equally accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The communication was great leading up to the stay and we felt extremely welcomed. The property is amazing, one of the most beautiful and unique places I have stayed in my life. We stayed right after Christmas and had some amazing weather and then a freeze hit the day before we left. We were able to do the polar bear challenge by jumping in the pool and then warming up in the hot tub was a great treat for all my family. There were plenty of towels and robes for all who participated it was a nice touch and plenty of bathrooms for our group. There were 16 of us in total 8 adults and 8 teenagers who more than once said they wished they lived there or would love a house and property like that one day.The house was a perfect fit for everyone. Campfires at night, hikes during the day & cookout for dinner, we watched Christmas Vacation on a projector out in the yard under the west Texas stars. The pool table was a blast. The town is 15 min away and met all our needs for groceries and we did the Star gazing party at the McDonald Observatory which was fun. Nancy has two horses we got to pet, which everyone enjoyed. We hope to be back one day as this will be a memory and experience we carry for the rest of our lives. Many blessings to Nancy and Daniel
This was our favorite VRBO we’ve ever rented. The home is filled with surprises, from a spiral staircase to a charming loft perfect for children. The upstairs bedrooms were delightful, with features and comforts to numerous to name. The grounds are perfectly manicured, with two large and terraced grassy areas, patios, a pollinator garden, and pool/hot tub. The views are spectacular. We saw audads and javelinas. Our host made us feel very much at home. She also took us on a ride up to her cabin for even more spectacular views. She responded to every inquiry. When my parent had a health concern, she came to the house to offer help and connect us with local medical help (which they fortunately didn’t need). She welcomed our three dogs, even closing the front gate to allow them to roam. Best host ever!
From the moment we entered our house we were pleased. Such a beautiful tribute to old country estate in a French theme! We loved mornings watching the sunrise and evenings watching the stars. The kids used the pool every chance they could. We visited Davis Mountains, Balmorhea, McDonald Observatory and simple drives through mountains. We were all excited for the ice cream treats from the Kaboose in town. Would love to return next year.
We are on our 2nd getaway here in less than a year! We cannot put into words how much we enjoy this experience. Nancy and Daniel are top notch hosts.
We got to enjoy a new moon this time which meant unlimited stargazing. We saw many more meteorites/shooting stars than we had anticipated.
Once we bought groceries we didn't leave the house. The R&R here is outstanding.
Thank you once again, Nancy. Top marks to you, Daniel. We will definitely be back!
This is not just a home; it is an experience in the vein of a "French Chateau." The home is lovingly decorated with interesting antiques, and no accommodation was overlooked. And, of course, the mountain views from the pool will not be forgotten. We had an endless supply of towels for the 8 kids to swim multiple times a day, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. There are so many pockets to escape and relax, even for our large group. And the home was spotless.
The best part of our stay was Daniel--an onsite manager who saw to our every need. He had the hot tub ready for us after long days at the festival, and even lit a fire and brought us S'mores supplies for our last night. And Nancy reached out before our stay to welcome and orient us to the property. Overall, one of the best VRBO experiences I've ever had!
Get away from it all on this well run spa like property. Excellent service. Go on excursions and come home to swim, bubble up in the hot tub and watch all the bright stars.
We were so happy with the place. The photos don't do it justice. It's beautiful and has everything you need and plenty of it...space, beautiful views, supplies, and Daniel...who was so helpful and friendly! We were in West Texas for a family wedding and are thinking about coming back just to vacation we loved it so much...in great part because of this property.
We all agreed that this is the most unique, comfortable and fun place we have stayed. The owner, Nancy has gone above and beyond to create the perfect oasis. She is very responsive and helpful in her communications. She is very friendly and accommodating. We want to keep her all to ourselves! But, she deserves a stellar review. We also met Daniel who was just as friendly and helpful.
The house is VERY well-appointed. We wanted for nothing. We got a kick out of the running theme, and felt that we could stay another week and still not see all of the little ways the theme was expressed. Very cute!
We went during the peak of Perseid meteor shower. Mas Souleiado made for the perfect place to kick back in our zero-gravity loungers and catch the show. We were able to see several planets through our friend's telescope, and got some stellar views of the full Sturgeon moon.
In the mornings we were treated to gorgeous sunrises over the mountains and the pool.
I can go on and on and on!
We are already planning our next trip.
Nancy, thank you is just not enough to state our appreciation of both you, your staff and the for outstanding experience we had. Truly one of a kind in all ways. Thank you!
Had a perfect weekend with friends at the property. Very clean, beautiful pool, hot tub, and lawn. Daniel, the caretaker, was so nice and helpful. Hope to be back soon!
