Did you ever want to just get away from everything and unplug for a little while? Well, you've found your spot. This Off-Grid cabin nestled in the Smoky Hills State Forest is a mix of primitive and modern. Completely disconnected from the outside world, we rely solely on solar and generator power. We have a 200 gal in floor water tank that is filled for each visitor. Lights and indoor plumbing are ran by a constant 12v system, along with a tankless water heater gives you all the basics you'll need. For those who like the rustic outdoor experience, we also have an outdoor shower and privy. With the push of a button, we provide standard power for some of our more modern needs. ( toaster, coffee grinder, fans and newly added TV with firestick and Starlink internet for those rainy days) Stay warm with a beautiful indoor fireplace on cooler nights, or fire up the generator and run the a/c on those hot summer days to take the edge off before bed. With this being a little different than what people are used to, we do provide an instruction manual for most things in the cabin or we offer in person instructions.
Let's be honest though. You're at this cabin to be in the middle of our beautiful Minnesota forest, so there won't be much time for just sitting around inside. Miles of trails awaits right out the front door, so bring your hiking shoes, mountain bike or atv and you won't ever want to go home. Park Rapids or Detroit Lakes are a Short drive away if you want to get some fun shopping or a nice dinner out, or bring the boat for access to some top quality fishing in the area. This is the perfect hub for any outdoor adventure.
So what are you waiting for? Come get lost at The Found 40!
Special Side Note: If our home in and of itself wasn't unique enough, it also serves as the perfect base camp for exploring the trails. Whether you want to head up to Two Inlets State Forest, Itasca State Park or just stay local and check out the Smokey Hills State Forest.
