The beautifully unique & natural aesthetic mixed with subtle luxury is sure to draw you home in whatever your daily adventures. Beaches, wineries, shopping, restaurants, and all pure Michigan has to offer just minutes away. Enclosed back yard/paw motel room welcomes your fur babies too. See you soon!

Attention to asthenic, detail, and subtle luxury, we have given thought to the needs of all our guests. From 100% linen sheets, exclusive locally roasted coffee just for 1888 House, comfortable antique soaking tub and rain shower, reading book/daybed, large farm style dinner table, fast wifi, streaming services, well equipped kitchen, a pet "room" with bed, enclosed backyard with a fire-pit, hammock, and plenty of place to play. This is the perfect getaway for your getaway. You might not want to leave!

Very clean. Comfortable. Well supplied with kitchenware, toiletries, towels and linens. Very welcoming to our dog and the children.We stayed two nights so one full day. We wanted to enjoy the lake beaches which we did in St. Joe’s and South Haven. I would recommend a stay. Everything was as promised.The bathroom would have been nicer if there had been shelf space for our tooth brushes, toothpaste and mouthwash. There was nowhere to store those things..

The 1888 house was perfect for our quiet weekend getaway with our dog. The fenced in backyard is amazing, and the house is adorable. Would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed the 1888 House very much! It was very clean, and it was beautifully decorated! The location worked perfectly for our needs to visit Silver Beach. We were especially grateful to have our tiny pup with us!

Had everything we needed, close to everything. Decor theme was Super cute. The pup pad was such a plus! We always get sad when we take a trip and have to leave him at home. The place has good bones and just needs some fine tuning around the edges but so much potential!

We enjoyed our stay at the 1888 house while visiting for the weekend. The beds were comfortable though I did wish some of the seating options were more aware of comfort rather than just looks, but we made it work with the couch! We would totally stay here again because it was by far the most affordable and cute little spot in the area. The host was super responsive and communicated quickly when needed.

Great two bedroom house nearby downtown St Joesph. The only complaints were that there was little to no handsoap, very little paper towels, and no hooks to hang up shower towels. Overall not a bad house, great host.

House was super cute on the inside. Location to beach and restaurants was convenient. Maintenance on the outside was needed. Overgrown shrubs and unkempt flower beds were the first impression as well as the property needed mowed. Owner was quick to respond to messages but only referred me to the property listing when I asked about check in times. Multiple requests were made to have an early check in/late check out due to just being there for a night. This was unable to be honored. Dirty cleaning towels were in the washer upon arrival. Children’s underwear were under the bunk beds. I was never given the property address. It was supposedly able to be found in the property listing, but I couldn’t find it there. We were able to find the property based on the map on the vrbo website. Overall it was a nice layover for a night. Check in at 4 and check out at 10 for 500 seems a little expensive, but we booked last minute and were happy to have comfortable beds.
