Upon your first visit to Charlevoix, you will understand why it is called 'Charlevoix the Beautiful.' For over 100 years, people have traveled to Charlevoix to make this one of the great vacation destinations in Northern Michigan.

The town of Charlevoix is situated around three lakes: Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, and Round Lake, a natural harbor connecting the two lakes to each other.

Charlevoix is known for its beautiful beaches, clear blue waters and stunning sunsets. During the summer months, the average high temperature is 75 degrees with relatively no humidity. This amazing weather lends itself perfectly to the wide variety of outdoor activities that are offered in the area.

The downtown area of Charlevoix is the heart and soul of Charlevoix. It offers art galleries, clothing boutiques, restaurants, and world-famous fudge shops. In the middle of town is the City park and marina. The City park has a band shell that hosts evening concerts all summer long.

Downtown Charlevoix is also the port to the Beaver Islander and Emerald Isle, two boats owned and operated by the Beaver Island Boat Company. Beaver Island is located 32 miles off Charlevoix coast. Surrounded by freshwater and accessible only by boat or plane, Beaver Island is a one-of-a-kind getaway.

Family-friendly property with four bedrooms including master bath and bedroom which to an outdoor patio/deck on the first floor, and three bedrooms and full bath/shower on the second floor, two bedrooms include queen-size pillowtop mattress beds and one bedroom has two twin beds. All bedrooms have many windows allowing the cool breezes in off Lake MIchigan. Home has been completely renovated and newly-furnished and includes a complete kitchen with all the necessary cooking utensils and components to prepare, cook and serve full family meals or wipe up a quick snack. The front porch is a treasure and a get place to relax, have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and watch the world go by and to enjoy the breezes off Lake Michigan. A warm and inviting feeling greets you in every room.

Centrally located in the heart of Michigan's northwest, Charlevoix is 50 miles from Traverse City, 15 miles from Petoskey, and about 65 miles from Mackinac City and historic Mackinaw Island. Come and enjoy all the beauty that northern Michigan has to offer in all seasons!

About the host

I am a Michigan native, and although life circumstances have resulted in me living in Florida for many years; my heart will always be in northern MIchigan. While growing up in Michigan my best memories are from when we went 'Up North!' Up North is not just a location, to me it is a mindset of relaxation and enjoyment in beautiful surroundings! My dream is to become a true 'snow-bird' and retire in the best of both worlds, spring/summer & fall in Michigan, and winters in Florida!

Why they chose this property

The Charlevoix-Petoskey-Traverse City-Glen Arbor/Glen Haven were always our vacation destinations while growing up in the metropolitan Detroit area. Charlevoix has not grown as fast as some of the other northern Michigan cities and it retains its quaint charm surrounded by water, water everywhere. The charm of the town and the friendliness of the people are why I wanted to have a vacation home in Charlevoix the Beautiful!

What makes this property unique

I enjoy walks along the Lake Michigan shoreline, Mt. McSauba Recreation area, or along Park Avenue down to Boulder Park to see the Earl Young 'mushroom' homes, or over to Depot Beach in the early mornings, or into downtown to shop, dine, or enjoy a concert in East Park long the marina!
