Great Weekend Spent

Upon arrival we were greeted by the property owners who then us a tour of their place. They were very welcoming. We had no issues or concerns at all, their property was beautiful, private, and clean, and full of amenities. Overall we had an amazing weekend.

Great property, nice host

Very nice and clean property. Particularly bathrooms are modern and well kept, which is important when large group is going. Only caution, the nearby beach is small and could be crowded. There is a marina near by, make sure you book in advance if you are planning to rent a boat 🚢. Overall we had a great stay Host was nice, prepared everything for us priori to our arrival, met us at the property and explained everything. Only

Very bad customer services

My cousins was uncertain about coming with us to the cottage, so we contacted the property owner to let them know there might be more people staying; however, it was an unpleasant conversation. She was screaming on the phone that she would have to charge more, and she would count the number of people. She actually did and yelled at us which scared everyone off; especially we had 6 kids there. We didn’t care about the extra fee we were paying but the attitude Vicki showed toward us were extremely unacceptable, which ruined our moods. We booked for 3 nights, everyone left after 2nd night, only 1 couple stayed to go fishing.

Cottage Weekend

Vickie was very professional, she met with us, gave us a tour of her cottage. Very spacious and comfortable. Cottage was clean, provided plenty of amenities. Great weekend overall

Nice Cottage... Intrusive Owner

My friends and I rented this cottage for a long weekend. At the time of renting, the cottage rental price was determined by a daily rate, not the amount of guests (there was no up charge for extra guests either). There were supposed to be 4 us staying the entire weekend. 1 friend got called into work early so he had to leave early so we ended up filling his spot part way through the weekend with another friend of ours. Our other friend arrived Friday night, while the other was going to be leaving Saturday morning (he had a few beers and didn't want to drive at night). On Saturday morning, the owners of the cottage drove up to the house and called all of us multiple times (this was around 9am when we were still sleeping). The owner yelled at us for 'lying' to her about who was staying at the house and essentially extorted us for more money (even though we didn't break any of the rules on the VRBO website or listing - the listing itself written by the owners says you can have 10 people stay). This was a really stressful experience and negatively impacted our stay, which was unfortunate since we liked the cottage and location. If you value your privacy and want to actually be able to enjoy your vacation without being harassed, I would not recommend staying here.

Mixed feelings about this cottage

Unfortunately this cottage has a lot of potential but the owners make it an unpleasant experience. From the moment I checked in I knew there was going to be issues. First of all when I checked and I had to go to a Kings Buffet Restaurant, I guess the owners own this restaurant and they were very busy therefore I had to wait. The female owner Vicke insisted that I did not send her the security deposit, until she logged in to her email and I showed her where it was. She then took a picture of my drivers license which I've never experienced through all the rentals I have completed with Canada stays. I then had to wait for her husband to return from a food delivery to escort me to the cottage. Before leaving she notified me that if she did not receive the payment from Canada stays she would be visiting the cottage the next day to collect money for me. I informed her that Canada stays had my money and that was between her and Canada stays. On Sunday evening I received several text from Vicke asking why she hadn't received a payment and the money was. She kept texting me therefore I called Canada stays and they informed me that their policy is to release the money 24 hours after check-in not including weekends. I then had to inform Vicke of this policy. This was not my problem and it interfered with the enjoyment of my holidays. Now a review of the cottage. Driving up, the cottage looks abandoned The grass has not been cut and there are weeds everywhere. The cottage is nicely renovated but cleanliness is not a priority for these owners. There was cat hair all over the rugs, which the hardwood is completely covered in massive rugs. There were dirty hand towels in each of the bathrooms not only soiled but had hair on them. This kitchen is not fully equipped as advertised . It did not include a toaster oven, no cooking utensils, no glasses, no can opener, no bbq, fridge does not work, luckily they had a wine fridge we could use, and the list could go on. They also advertise a washer and dryer but they will tell you not to use it because it is broken. There's no barbecue. These owners need to change several things in order for people to enjoy their stay here.
