Nice place to stay. A/C was good unless you were in the back room as there was little airflow. Big shower was great and nice backyard

It was the perfect spot for a little weekend getaway. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and the location is perfect for a quick walk downtown to enjoy the night life. The old architecture from 1919 added to the character of the home, and the host was very communicative and responsive.

Would not have rented knowing it was only a window air conditioning unit which didn't make the entire house comfortable. The front door locking the main house was inoperable and had to have someone come out and fix it the second day which means we didn't have a functional front door lock to the main house the first night there and that was not a good feeling and caused little sleep The lock strike plate was not placed correctly nor, according to the repair person, was it correct for the door lock. The air conditioner in the living room was able to place some air in the front bedroom but the yard light just outside was not blocked out by the bedroom blinds and the room was lit up during the night and not conducive to a good nights sleep. The other bedroom would have been darker but no cool air would reach it. Overall we would not have gone here knowing it was just a window air unit and there's no reason for the lock on the door to be nonfunctional and still expect someone to stay there. Management should have known about that since the front door had signs of a possible forced entry at some point and that portion of the lock was badly damaged. Sadly not the best of weekends and a nice hotel with some sense of security, constant cooling, black out drapes and the same amenities would have been the correct choice. Would not do this again.

1st we booked this location because it says “Garage Parking Available- Rare for this Area”. There is NO GARAGE. When I messaged about it, the host said there is no garage and he would look into it. Two days later, it’s still advertising Garage Parking Available!! 2nd the dishwasher doesn’t work, so you are instructed to wash the dishes you use by hand, and leave them in the dishwasher racks to dry. 3rd the recliners in the living room are worn and cracked. The host could at least add a couple of throws to put on them. Although they’re old, they’re still comfortable enough, but if you have long hair, it will get tangled in the patches that are falling off that had been used at one time to repair the cracks. The house itself was charming and the neighborhood relatively quiet. We only used the king bed, and it was very comfortable. The host was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early, before an afternoon appointment. We personally wouldn’t stay here again, because we prefer to have a garage to park in.

Decent Property

Our stay at this property was okay. This is a house that is part of an apartment complex. You might meet the neighbors who live in the other apartments. They do walk through the front of your yard, so if you have a dog, you should make sure that the gate is always locked. Sometimes the neighbors leave it open. There are two doors to the house, with two house keys. The first door is extremely hard to open, because it sticks so badly. You have to muscle it to open it.The covered porch light, and front porch light do not work, so you have to use your cell phone light to see the key hole. There is no central air, only a wall unit AC, that you have to run constantly. There are ceiling fans, but the bedrooms can get warm. The house was built in 1919, so I imagine that a central AC unit isn’t possible. If you want to take out the trash, you have to walk around the corner about a half block away to throw it into a dumpster. The property owner seemed nice, but wasn’t quick to respond. Check out time is at 10:00 AM. And hour earlier than most VRBO houses. On the positive note, the neighborhood is quiet, there is plenty of parking. You are located close to downtown Whiskey Row. It is a clean home. Lastly, the shower in the bathroom was great. All in all, would I stay here again? Probably not.

The house itself was cute and well stocked. Walking distance to downtown area. Large kitchen and nice big shower. There were two major issues that need to be addressed. The main problem we had was the neighbor was letting his dogs in the front yard to use as a potty area. On the second day we came out to 3 Great Dane size poops in the front yard. Each had at least 50 flies on it. It was disgusting!! I notified the manager and he responded that he would look into it. The next morning there were more huge piles. At that point with the heat, the smell was horrible. I notified the manager again. I did not hear back from him till later in the day and he said he would send someone to clean it. That never happened. We had to hold our breath when walking in and out of the house. We were not able to let our dogs walk around the front yard and I was very uneasy that there was a large dog being let loose in what was supposed to be a private yard. I was shocked that it wasn't cleaned up immediately and we had to deal with that smell. The other issue was that the 1 wall AC only cooled the front room and the other rooms barely cooled.

Pros: screened porch was great; shower was roomy, great water pressure and hot water. Everything was clean. TJ was great host and mostly responded quickly and was available when I needed help with the lockbox. Kitchen was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay.Cons: the windows have no screens so couldn’t let fresh air in. The a/c is not central so if you are outside the living room area you can’t close the doors in the other rooms or it becomes too warm even with the fans going. Big deal in the summer and since ya really can’t open the windows cuz no screens…. The kitchen table really only seats 2 people easily. If ya need more than 2 I don’t see how you can do it. The backyard sitting area is not kept up at all. Dirty and the bricks near the grill are a walking hazard. Overall good experience but would not recommend for more than 2 people
