A comfortable apartment. I enjoyed convenient WiFi and ample lighting. My daughter and I loved stepping out on the small balcony to check out the weather each morning. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed. I appreciate a lived-in house that doesn’t look like a hotel and has so many personal touches like books and artwork on the walls. I love the oriental carpets that give the place a sense of history and warmth. Overall we loved this apartment.
Perfect apartment for the Paris leg of our honeymoon. Apartment feels artsy and sophisticated. There are several great restaurants in less than a 5 minute walk. It's also less than a minute from a Metro station, so you can travel anywhere with ease.
Overall wonderful eclectic space with a comfy bed. We loved the neighborhood and having the metro so close by. We were able to enjoy so many fabulous pastries and cafes as well as the amazing streets to just walk and enjoy. Walking distance to a grocery store, bakery and metro right on the street made this feel like a small neighborhood in a very big city. Thanks to Anne for great tips and communication.Paris is wonderful
The three of us - a couple and our adult son - had a wonderful time. Its a bit of a tight squeeze for three but the location is fantastic and the property manager was wonderful

It was a real pleasure having you. I am very sorry for the space. I know that when the sofa-bed is opened, the space between the dining room and the living room is quite narrow. The rest of the apartment is OK when the sofa-bed is closed. This information has to be shared with all guests. We trye to be clear about this issue. Thanks for your comments.

The guess had been in our place the first time in 2018. He returned this time with his wife. I trust that they will be there again and we are so happy to respond to its expectations.
We really enjoyed exploring Paris from this fabulous location with the ease of the metro & local buses just across the street. There were lots of restaurants, bakeries, & grocery stores in the immediate vicinity. We were very comfortable here.
Overall I was pleased with the apartment…from check in to check out. We were greeted warmly by the local host who remained accessible via phone or email. We stayed for 26 days and enjoyed each one. The location in the 15th district and convenience to all of our needs met expectations.
This apartment is in a quiet location next to the Volontaires metro station and various bus routes. Restaurants and boulangeries surround the apt, as well as nearby grocery stores.
The owner of this property was extremely helpful and most gracious throughout the process. Our eight days in Paris were fabulous and this property was a big part of that.

Many thanks. It was a great pleasure to know these guests and help them.
Anne was a wonderful host who was very responsive to any questions. Her apartment is in a great location, right across from the metro and near a variety of bakeries and restaurants. The apartment itself was not very tidy when we stayed—the fridge had a strong smell, and there was a lot of clutter. With that said, the location is very convenient and the building is safe and quiet.

Thank you. The cleaning person apologizes for these negative comments and will do better.
Great location: Métro, busses, taxis, bikes to rent just steps away from the front door. Restaurants galore! Easy access to multiple stores: grocery, book, antique, clothing, etc. The apartment is equipped with everything once needs for a pleasant stay. Communication with Anne and with her friend Françoise made everything run as smoothly as possible. We had the opportunity to have their cleaning lady, Apsha, tidy things up for us during our 4-week stay. All in all, our experience was flawless from start to finish.
perfect location for a Paris neighborhood experience
We were across the street from one metro station, a very short walk to a bus stop and a little bit longer walk to a second metro station. The neighborhood has restaurants, a pharmacy, a grocery and the all-important macaroon shop nearby. We loved the neighborhood experience instead of being in a touristy hotel. The living/dining area (with the pull-out sofa bed) could benefit from some blinds/drapes that cover the entire windows to darken the nighttime street light. We appreciated the elevator access after walking/climbing stairs all day while sight-seeing.

Many thanks. The most modern synthetic curtains have been installed just recently. They cover all window surface and should stop light from entering. We will certainly look after your remark and find a solution. Thanks for your advice.

overpriced
We had a nice time, however since I rent places at least three times a year, not always from you, the price was quite high for the location and the condition.

To make a fair comparison of price, you should consider renting an apartment with three bedrooms, the price would be much higher. You came with your two granddaughters requiring three separate beds. The add is clear: one single bedroom and two sofa beds, one in the dining room, one in the living room. Many guests wanted these conditions, accepted them and were most satisfied. Just read the precedent evaluation to yours... Reading all reviews contradicts absolutely your comments. We are doing our best to make our guests highly satisfied which is reflected in the reviews.
Madame Legaré’s third floor apartment with balcony, on Rue des Volontaires is a one-minute walk to Metro station and to a bus stop that serves 3 bus lines. An artisan boulangerie is around the corner; at 5:00am Monday through Friday, the heavenly aroma of bread enters the apartment. La Poste, Pharmacie, Naturalia, Monoprix, Lenôtre, Franprix, fun restaurants, meat, fish, cheese, vegetable, fruit, and wine merchants, clothing stores, specialty stores…an ideal neighborhood. This is the fifteenth apartment in Paris that I’ve rented through VRBO, but, my first time in the vibrant 15 arrondissement. Special thanks to Madame Braik (who represented Madame Legaré during my month-stay); she was kind and thoughtful. Oh, standing on Rue des Volontaires, where you exit the Metro station, you can see La Tour Eiffel! What a treat! I wish everyone excellent health and happiness always.
We enjoyed a twelve day stay in this quieter area of Paris. It gave us the experience of what living in Paris is like. This property is close to stores and restaurants. The metro and buses stop at the corner, giving fast and easy access to major attractions and museums. The building is a security building. Neighbors and local businesses are friendly and helpful. The property is very comfortable, with a bedroom, living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The owner is very helpful and responds quickly to any questions.
I brought my teenager with me on a work/vacation trip to Paris and Anne's home was perfect for us. I wanted to avoid staying in a touristy rental and pretend like we lived in Paris. And that's exactly what we did. It was a feast for the senses. In the morning, if the bedroom was window open, I woke to sound of birdsong and the aroma of freshly baked croissant. The boulangerie downstairs was exceptional, and the metro station was directly across the street -- our gateway to the city. Montparnasse itself is a sweet neighborhood, and the apartment is walking distance to groceries, food from around the globe, boutiques, and parks. We didn't rent ebikes, but they were docked right outside the building. Wifi was great, beds comfortable, and the kitchen suitable for our needs. We also washed our clothes and in washer and they dried quickly on the drying rack. Thank you Anne!

About the host
Hosted by Anne Legaré
My husband and myself are both retired university professors from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We love France where we have both studied and keep this appartement for spending six months or more in Paris each year. Lots of books and places to work are provided and we also spend a lot of time here with friends, that is why we have a large living room and dining room. We were specialized in Politicis and Law. We find France and french daily life completely different from Quebec and we enjoy following culturel and political activities. The place is organized for us to enjoy intellectual work independently. In Montreal, we are used to have 1,600sm apartment but we don't mind if Paris'one is only 64sm even for a long period since we also spend time in coffee places since there are two, one on the first floor of the neighbor building and one across the street. We can also eat there and enjoy local good french food. We need no car in Paris and life is much more simple with the subway just in front and the different close buses available. We also have friendly relations with our neighbors and the janitor of our building is a reliable person. So we like coming back to Paris and find this friendly surrounding. We are pleased with the idea of sharing our private atmosphere and comfort with those who love Paris or are curious to discover it.
Why they chose this property
We have been studying in Paris for our PhD degrees. I have been working in Paris in a cooperation agreement between Quebec and France. When that term was over. we were sad to leave and decided to have our own place. In Quebec we dont have a vacation place, we have a garden downtown. But we are happy to have a vacation place in France.
What makes this property unique
We first enjoy the location. Our area is not in the rushing places that some touristical streets represent. aT THE SAME, WHILE WE DONT SUFFER FROM THE NOISE AND STRESS OF THOSE PLACES, WE HAVE A DIRECT link with the buses and the subway. We also enjoy the fact that we are at the same time in a typical old time and modern area. We find all sorts of open shops with fresh fish, fresh vegetables etc. Also there are super department stores. Everything is close. There is a charming garden very close. An hospital for required consultations and so on. We would not change place. At the same time, the apartment is warm and friendly and has all expected services. It is also quiet. The bedroom is at the back and oriented south facing white buildings and an inside garden. There is plenty of light all around.
