Almost Every morning and evening you will see Deer in the Front Yard Grazing the Yard. Inside you’ll have 3 bedrooms including 1 king bed and 2 queen beds, 2 bathrooms with showers and one with an Antique Clawfoot Tub that will take away any stress, and essential amenities like New Stainless Steel Appliances, washing and dryer machine, WiFi, Central AC, and heating. You also will get to Cozy Up to Outdoor Fire Pit(Firewood provided for a small fee), A large Gas Grill(Gas Provided). Let’s talk about how you will be staying on an Island that’s located on The St. Mary’s River Shipping Channel! The International and Great Lakes Freighters that come thru on Each side of the Island, lots of Freighter watching heading to and from the Soo Locks, getting to hear and see the Freighters Salute, 1/4 Mile from the Boat Launch (Bring your Boat) and Island Park to View Freighter Traffic,the Abundance of Wild Life, Nature and Fishing! True Paradise!! Ferry Schedule Everyday 6:30am-11:30pm every hour except 12:30pm and 8:30pm.

If you're looking for a quiet getaway this is the place. The home is convenient to the ferry. The host is very responsive. The internet service is good. Do your grocery shopping before you get to the house, there are no stores or restaurants on the island. The only way on/off the island is by ferry which is 10-20 round trip. Check the ferry schedule--we were there in Aug 2026 and it ran every 60 minutes on the half-hour for most of the day so planning ahead is wise. Bicycles or a boat would be great because the Cozy restaurant is just across the river and a good place to eat. It's a sweet little island with nice people and a park near the ferry. I would stay on the island again. By the way, there is a sign on the wood stove instructing you not to use it.

Up North Getaway

We found this property very enjoyable and warm and welcoming. A category for senior adults needs to be added as there are more elderly individuals that travel a great deal. With that said, I feel that there should be ADA compliant and bars should be standard in all Air B& B units. Also if unit is on an upper level the renter should be aware of steps and elevators

This spacious home had everything we needed; it was so great to have two full bathrooms, a full kitchen (no DW), and plenty of seating in the living room. The natural beauty and quietness of the island helped us to fully relax and settle into vacation mode! Since there was so little traffic, we felt safe walking up and down the road. In due season, be mindful of ticks, but in mid-July, other bugs weren't bad at all. Be prepared to plan your arrival and departure per the ferry schedule and to pay for the round trip.
