We visited the Marin Castle for my son’s birthday. The castle is everything described on the website and more and. The architecture is wonderful! We really enjoyed our visit, the walks to see the magnificent sunsets and waking up to the early morning blankets of clouds over the hills. Every bed is super comfortable! The kitchen is the best—fully stocked. We cooked all our meals and even made chocolate chip cookies. The property is full of well thought out amenities. Games galore, inside and out, for the kids and adults. My grandsons practiced for their recital on the digital piano with a valley view. Pretzel, our cavapoo, loved the outdoor open areas to run. Finally, Alice is the best host!
Our stay at the castle was fantastic. This is truly a one of a kind house/ property and a fun adventure. Heed Alice's words that it is best to arrive during the day for the first time. As for the castle, it was super clean, pet friendly to our travel cat Edwin and everything was well stocked for whatever you would need. The communication with our host Alice was fantastic. She communicated everything to perfection. My family took a hike directly from the property. You are struly in the clouds. This is a truly unique and wonderful place. Thank you for sharing it with us!
This was a truly magical location for our family reunion. Very comfortable and lovely, no detail left unattended. We will definitely return and Alice was a lovely host.
We had a lovely stay at Marin Castle. We came for the view and it didn’t disappoint! Alice was a fantastic host and answered all of our questions quickly. We were in town to visit family in Alameda and Petaluma. If we come again, we would plan for several days of relaxation on top of the mountain rather than go up and down the mountain for our visits as it added extra time to our day. There are plenty of games, air hockey, and an hot tub. The kitchen is well equipped allowing us to eat in most meals…it’s the perfect play for a staycation to get away from it all!
This is one of those very special VRBOs in which you race through the home upon arrival to discover each room. It's a long epic drive to the top of the hill to your very private castle house. The kitchen was fully stocked for me to make meals and there are great food options 15 minutes away.I have small kids and it was a little stressful to have them playing around the spiral staircase, but we survived. I'm not holding that against the property.Stunning through and through; we didn't want to leave : )
