- We are on a septic system here so if you could please be sure to keep as much sand outside as possible, shake your towels out and rinse sand off outside rather than in the shower, I'd be very grateful.
- Here in Melbourne Beach area, like most of Florida we have little biting critters called No Seeums rather than mosquitos, they are sort of like mosquitos, and they might come out, but a trick to keep them out of the house is to put vinegar in a bowl, put a little dish soap in it, stir it up and put it by the door. Put one inside and one outside. They will be attracted by the vinegar and stick because of the soap.

-If you need to have a 3rd car, the street that is directly across A1A can be used for off street parking. You can also check with me to see if the guest in the other cottage has only one car and if so, we can organize for you to have 3 on the drive.
-March 1 – October 31 is turtle nesting season. The turtles are a protected species so there are very simple but important rules to follow during this period especially because hurricanes Ian and Nicole took away many nests so this year is super important to them.
It is very important that the drapes on windows that are on the side or across the back are closed at night so that light does not show onto the back, it confuses both the turtles and the babies so they end up on the highway or yard instead of the water.
-Please also make sure all the porch lights in front and sides are off at night. The back porch light is disabled. At night please keep the kitchen light off when you are not using the kitchen.
-Please don’t walk on or dig in the dunes, that is where turtles nest, instead take the steps (or path) down to the flat beach.
-Watch for nests in the dunes if you accidentally get into them, they look like little craters. The county does mark some of them, but only 1 out of every 10 so we all must keep an eye out.
**Do not leave anything on the beach or on the dunes at night.**
