May we introduce “The Enchanted Dawson House” named after Dawsonville’s founder William C. Smith 1798-1856. Crosby Dawson was a distinguished Georgian who played multiple roles in the state’s legal and political spheres. Borne in Greene County, Georgia, Dawson was educated at Franklin College which later became the University of Georgia and he studied law under the mentorship of prominent lawyers He was admitted to the bar in 1816 and quickly established himself as a respected attorney. Come learn more in The Dawson Room and read and feel the history. Each room of the home is dedicated to a historical family from the area even “The Burt Room” after the Burt’s Pumpkin Patch Farm and many more.
