Escape to this rustic cabin nestled on 12 forested acres along the riverfront, backing onto National Forest Land. Experience the perfect blend of cozy comfort and nature in this serene getaway.
Cozy Interiors:
First Level: Enjoy a well-stocked kitchen and an eating nook with forest views. Unwind on the L-shaped sofa, which doubles as a fourth bed, and warm up by the glass-front woodstove. A plush reading chair invites you to relax.
Upper Level: Features a full bed, a twin bed, and a futon, along with a private deck accessible through sliding glass doors.
Outdoor Adventures: Discover endless opportunities for renewal with hiking trails just minutes away. Scramble along ridges and gulleys just a half-mile walk away, or fish for wild cutthroat and rainbow trout from the riverbank trail.
Evening Relaxation: Curl up with a hand-selected book by the woodstove or prepare a rustic meal over the 60" Iron fire ring. Enjoy clear night skies free from light pollution—perfect for stargazing or watching shooting stars. Mornings bring a delightful show from local bird species as you sip your coffee.
Activities Galore:
Winter Fun: Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on miles of forest service roads.
Summer Thrills: Mountain biking on established trails or exploring rugged 4WD routes.
Unique Features:
A large firepit for bonfires and a roofed "fire lodge" for smaller gatherings or cooking over an open flame.
Whether you're seeking adventure or tranquility, this cabin is your perfect escape into nature!
Special Advisory Notices:
We hope you will enjoy the peace of the forest and the cozy simplicity of the space. The cabin is designed to transport guests to a simpler time, bathed in the beauty of the forest. But this is a truly a rustic cabin which may be a new experience for some. It was built by hand 50 years ago from trees milled on the property, and the exterior siding and interior walls are made from inch-thick, rough-cut Douglas Fir boards, which may cause splinters :). The first-floor construction features half walls built from river rocks.
- The cabin is located 12 miles upriver from the town of Twisp. You will likely want to stop for supplies before you reach to the cabin.
- The cabin is situated at a mountainous elevation and generally receives snow between October and April. A 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended in the winter.
- A wood stove is the only heat source in the cabin. You should be comfortable starting and maintaining a fire. There is plenty of wood in the woodshed adjacent to the cabin. If you want instruction on using the woodstove, please ask. We are happy to help!
- The kitchen has cold well water only. A kettle must be used for hot water.
- The Bath House is located 40 feet from the cabin and has a toilet and shower. The bathhouse heated with on demand hot water.
- Outdoor fires are permitted in designated areas and only outside of County burn ban periods.
- The sweat lodge "pit house" is closed for repairs and entrance is not permitted.
- The trail down to the river and the stairs to the deck and in the cabin are steep and may not be easily navigable by people with injuries or the physically infirm. The interior stairs are without backing and not appropriate for small children. Infants and young toddlers should be kept away from the woodstove, woodstove pipes, and the vertical log railing on the upper level of the cabin.
- The property may be visited by any of the animals that inhabit the North Cascades. So please put food and trash away and keep a clean "camp."
- If at anytime during your stay you have questions, need something, or want suggestions for things to do, please don't hesitate to ask! We want your stay with friends and loved ones to be memorable!
