-Walking distance to Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound
-5 minutes from downtown Southwest Harbor
-10 minutes to Bass Harbor Lighthouse
-25 minutes to Acadia Park Cadillac Mountain Entrance
-30 minutes to Downtown Bar Harbor
- Lots of hiking in every direction!
-Great location for stargazing!
The Seawall is a naturally occurring granite, loose boulder and rock seawall with easy shore walks and tidepools to explore. The property sits directly across from it and is a short distance to the park's picnic area. From the apartment's balcony, you can watch the waves crash on the rugged shoreline and watch the sunrise over the Great Cranberry Island. On a clear night, it is one of the best places in the country for stargazing.
Just beyond the scenic area, you'll approach two of many walking trails of Acadia: Ship Harbor and Wonderland. Each is less than a two-mile hike along the ocean and nature trails. A short drive from these trails is the Bass Harbor Lighthouse that has been guiding mariners with its light since 1858. The dramatic setting, especially at sunset, is a photographer's dream!
Come enjoy what Acadia has to offer! Stay with us for a relaxing experience! Book now!

About the host
Hosted by Gabe Grasz

Welcome to the Quietside. We are a small, family run motel located just outside of Southwest Harbor on the ‘Quietside of the island’, removed from the boisterous atmosphere of Bar Harbor. Protected by the solitude of the park, we are still in a convenient location, situated three miles from both Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor restaurants and services.
Why they chose this property
The ‘Quietside’ is the less commercialized and more family-oriented west side of Mount Desert Island. We border one of the more serene entrances to Acadia National Park and are the only ocean-front accommodation on Seawall, a destination in itself. Protected by the solitude of the park, we are still in a convenient location, situated three miles from both Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor restaurants and services. In addition to the very popular hiking trails, Ship Harbor and Wonderland, the Bass Harbor lighthouse is just a couple of miles away. If an ice cream sundae, glass of wine, or a cozy latte is more your cup of tea, the downtown district of Southwest Harbor is nearby with quaint shops, restaurants, and local attractions certain to delight all ages. Additionally, if you're looking for a delicious lobster roll and a unique experience, Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound is within walking distance!
What makes this property unique
We are the only ocean-front accommodation over-looking Seawall! With a recent road closure directly on the most scenic part of the Seawall, our guests will have special access to this unique landscape. Seawall pond and the ocean provide opportunities for bird watching, exploring tidepools, and is one of the best spots for stargazing.
