About this property

NEW Construction The "Barn Loft"

The "Barn Loft" designed by owner/builder was recently completed for the 2023 fall season. Located adjacent to the owner's residence in town Southwest Harbor this property is off the street and surrounded by 5 acres of fields, trees, and views of Acadia's western mountains providing the perfect country escape feeling.
Second floor, completely furnished, spacious open concept living area with full kitchen, dining, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Master bedroom with king bed and en suite, guest bedroom with 2 double beds.
Maximum occupancy for 6. Cable, WIFI, heat pump, and deck seating.
It should be noted that due to the second floor location, this property would not be suitable for anyone who cannot manage a lengthy staircase, or for small children as the staircase is open (no door, no gate).
The heat pump provides heat and air conditioning and is located in the open living area. Bedrooms do not have air conditioning units however, they do each have fans and thermal blinds.
Sorry no pets, and no smoking.
Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, marina, bus route, and minutes away from Acadia National Park, biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, and boating.
This property truly is the perfect escape.
About the host - Wes is a 6th generation Southwest Harbor native whose passion is spending time outside. He and his wife Dawn decided to start their dream project, so, they began with building the barn in 2020. They are very excited to offer the "Barn Loft" in addition to their sister property the "Barn Studio" (downstairs) #2351157. The Barn Studio is a one-bedroom apartment perfect for those traveling with larger families, grandparents or in laws. The Barn Studio is pet friendly (sorry no pets in the Barn Loft).
The couple's love of the outdoors is the inspiration of their project. They want to provide a relaxing place for vacationers to escape and enjoy the beauty of the quiet side of the island and all that Acadia National Park has to offer.

This is a great place: clean, comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked. We enjoyed sitting by the fire table on the deck in the evening and watching deer in the yard. Southwest Harbor has restaurants but is quieter than Bar Harbor which we liked. It is close to Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Awesome Barn Loft!

Our family had a great stay at the Barn Loft. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a beautiful area! Close enough to Acadia to enjoy all the park has to offer but without all the congestion. We would certainly stay here again!

Great place to check out Bar Harbor and Acadia!

Roomy and beautifully done! The hosts were spot on and friendly . Nice kitchen, deck and clean . Short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor . The little Southwest Harbor town itself around the corner and had a few restaurants and shops to offer . Highly recommend

Above and beyond!

My daughters and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was better then we could have imagined. So cozy, this place is a jewel. I can’t encourage viewers enough to snatch up this great location!

Perfect get-away

This spot was perfect for our trip. Our destination was Acadia NP, The main park is 30 mins away and a couple of hikes are only minutes away. The town of Bar Harbour is also 30 mins away, so the location was great. The place is quiet, with a beautiful balcony and firepit, the pit ran out of propane and within minutes the owners had it replaced, can't ask for more than that. Everything we needed was supplied, beds were comfy and place was clean. Thanks for the hospitality, would stay here again if ever in the area.

Wonderful Vacation Loft

Everything about our stay was great! The loft was exactly as it looked in the photos. It so spacious and comfortable and clean. The bath towels smelled great, the kitchen was well appointed, the outdoor deck a treat. I can be a nervous traveler due to asthma and allergies and the hosts were reassuring and the place great. We had privacy but knew they were available if we had concerns. We would love to return and explore more of Acadia and the area!

Wonderful stay

After a difficult year, I needed a getaway for some rest and rejuvenation, and The Loft was the perfect setting for that. Beautifully constructed, clean and comfortable, the space provided the respite I needed. Within minutes to downtown Southwest Harbor and a short drive to Acadia, there were endless activities and adventures to enjoy as well. The hosts were responsive and attentive while not being intrusive. I highly recommend them!

Stop scrolling, you found the perfect place to stay!

We absolutely loved our stay in the loft. The location was perfect on the quiet side of the island and the property had beautiful views of Beech Mountain, sunset and their sprawling property. Sit on the deck after a long day of hiking and enjoy a glass with the firepit. Or walk to the shops in Southwest Harbor. The interior is spacious with a large living/dining/kitchen area. The bedrooms were spacious as well and very comfortable. We slept like babies in the quiet and comfort. The attention to detail was masterful. The woodworking was exquisite! I appreciated the level of detail whether planned or not to the plates that reminded me of the Maine flags colors and the glassware all Maine themed. Kitchen was well equipped for our stay. If you are visiting Acadia you can stop searching for your lodging cause you just found it!

Everything about the stay was great. The loft was clean, the rooms comfortable, and the kitchen had all the essentials for daily meals. This property was perfect for our weekend getaway to ANP. It was very clean and quiet. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the deck in the cool evenings after long days of hiking. We’ll be back again!

The accomodations were very nice and comfortable. Although there was warning about the steps, they were quite steep, and a lot of them; not all older adults may be able to manage them with a suitcase. One person in the second bedroom felt it was initially hard to fall asleep due to people talking outside, but we had the windows open. The person in the master bedroom did not hear anything. Convenient, less than 5 minute drive, to restaurants. Twenty minutes to the busier part of Acadia. About 5 minutes to featurs on the "quiet" side of Acadia. Overall, we enjoyed the stay very much and would recommend!

The barn loft was great for us! Very comfortable and well supplied. We stayed here to visit Acadia and the location worked well for us. The owner did such a good job creating this space.Southwest Harbor was a good choice since its near ethe park but quiter than Bar Harbor. I would highly recommend the barn loft!

We loved this place and truly enjoyed being on the quieter side of the island. It's immaculately clean and comfortable. We did some cooking and enjoyed wine on the deck.It's an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We ate at Thurston's Lobster Pound. Really good. And we went on a lobster boat tour with Jason Clark, who is located in Southwest Harbor.You will need to bring your own soap or body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Everything else we needed was there. I would definately stay here again if we're back on MDI.

Great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barn loft. Check in and check out was easy, the place was clean and spacious. It was stocked with everything we needed. Location was great! My family had a great time playing Acadia Monopoly. It was an Easy drive to hit the scenic spots. We sat outside on the deck in the evening. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We had the best experience at this adorable loft. Our kids loved it too! It was very clean and easy to use and anytime we had a question, our host would respond in a very timely manner. We are a family of 4 and having the two bathrooms and two bedrooms with a spacious communal area gave us all the space we needed. Also, having the outdoor deck was a necessity we didn’t know we needed being in the North fresh air. We saw shooting stars every night while using the gas fire making smores. Another plus was the black out shades because we didn’t realize how early the sun rises out here. We appreciated that otherwise the kids would have been up at the crack of dawn every day! It was easy to drive to NE Harbor and Bar Harbor from this house and it has super cute coffee places around the corner. We also loved being 5 minutes from Beals Lobster Pound. In our opinion the pictures don’t even do the house justice- it was far better in person. You can tell when the host takes pride in their rental properties and these hosts certainly do. It was a great start to our Maine trip and we hope to be back!

This was a perfect spot for our family of four. We loved being on the quieter side of the island and enjoyed the nearby hikes (Flying Mountain, Acadia Mountain, Beech Cliff, Ship Harbor and Wonderland). The house was immaculate and comfortable. We especially loved the outdoor seating and fire.
