Our family had a great time on this beautiful property this past weekend. It is 3 minutes from Hatley Pointe if you are going skiing. Great communication from the host before, during, and after our stay. Our family enjoyed our time after skiing in this cozy home, relaxing in the jacuzzi, and recharging for our next day of adventure. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend a few days in the mountains.
We stayed here as a family of four for a short snowboarding trip and had a great experience. The place is tucked into the hillside and felt cozy and welcoming. It was clean, warm, and had plenty of space for all of us. The location was especially convenient, just a short drive from the Hatley Pointe ski area. Everything we needed was there, and we were comfortable the entire stay. We’d definitely come back and would love to stay longer next time!
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was top notch and Dave and Paula are super hosts. The house had all the amenities and more. The neighborhood is great.
This home exceeded our expectations! The property was breathtaking outside and the home was just stunning. We loved how it was decorated and was the perfect vibe for our girl's trip. So many little details in the decorating that we really appreciated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was wonderful. We appreciated our little welcome snack gift. The hosts responded quickly and gave us great ideas for hiking. I hope to book here again!
Great, clean place! My husband and I had a quick couples getaway trip for our upcoming anniversary. Host we’re quick to answer any questions I had about our trip.

A few disappointments with the property. Unable to use the hot tub as it was not clean and had a terrible smell. Cleaner did arrive to fix however we could not use as it took days to reheat and it still was not healthy to go in. The dishwasher had a terrible smell and was left with water inside that obviously had not drained properly from previous use? Made the whole unit smell. The main bathroom sink does not drain properly either. The accommodation was ice cold when we arrived, not welcoming and ready feeling. Garbage can outside was over filled with garbage bags. Not a great overall impression of the place. On a good note, host contacted us back quickly when we arrived. The house is very nicely decorated and has comfortable beds & good quality bedding for a good night’s sleep.

Thank you for your detailed feedback—we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
We’re very sorry that several aspects of your stay did not meet expectations, particularly regarding the hot tub, dishwasher, and maintenance items. This is not the standard we strive to provide and we take this very seriously. We addressed the hot tub as quickly as possible during your stay, but we understand the inconvenience caused by the delay in reheating.
Since your visit, we have taken additional steps to ensure these issues are fully resolved, including servicing the hot tub, inspecting and correcting the drainage concerns, and reinforcing our cleaning and inspection processes to prevent this from happening again. We are also reviewing our arrival preparation procedures to ensure the home is consistently comfortable and guest-ready.
We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the design of the home, the comfort of the beds, and that our team was responsive—those are all very important to us.
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.
We LOVED Relax and Play Chalet! It was very clean, beautifully decorated, and anything we needed, David responded right away. The location is perfect for skiing or dining at Hatley Pointe Ski Resort! And we definitely enjoyed warming back up in the hot tub after a day on the slopes! Thank you David and Paula 3

We are beyond thrilled to hear you had such a wonderful time and experience here! Our goal from the beginning was to create a beautiful space for people to create lasting memories in this incredible community. Look forward to hosting you again soon, you guys were wonderful guests to have!
My family, two adults and two young children, had a great time staying at the Relax and Play chalet. It was the perfect distance from stores and easily accessible to downtown asheville for a day trip. The property was clean and well maintained and exactly as advertised. My children loved the fire pit and cornhole game on property available to use. The community had great amenities and endless fun. We were able to easily hike to big bald with our young kids using the communities trail. It was everything we were looking for! I definitely recommend this property and host!
Easy to get in and find. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of extra blankets. Everything worked, had space heaters for bedrooms bc they did get a little chilly at night. Hot tub was great and even had robes for your stay. Very close to Hatley point. Grocery store not too far. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a great stay at the Relax & Play Chalet. First time to this area - we enjoyed a day of skiing just around the corner at Hatley Pointe and hiking Big Bald Mountain (right there in the neighborhood). The place was incredibly clean and well appointed for everything we needed for a cozy cabin getaway. We watched deer from the picture window in the bedroom, enjoyed a cozy fire and played games in the evening with the kids. Any question/issue that came up, we had almost immediate communication with the hosts who were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend this listing!
We just stayed for four nights to snowboard at hatley pointe! This chalet exceeded our expectations and was bigger than we were expecting. We absolutely loved the decor! The owners of chalet are very responsive and kind. My daughter fell in love with a stuffed bear in the home and they gave it to her to remember the tripby! We definutely want to return. It is a very good location and only a few minute drive to Hatley Pointe. Its also very close to Asheville and downtown Mars Hill. Thank you again!

It fills us with joy to hear your family thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us, it is such a magical place up here in the mountains! The little bear was just a small token of our appreciation and are happy to hear your daughter will cherish it and the memories made here forever! To us, that's what it is all about. Looking forward to your next visit at Relax & Play Chalet!
We decided to take our two girls to the NC mountains for the first time since we normally head to the beach. So glad we did because we had a wonderful time! The house was the perfect size for the four of us and really nicely outfitted. (We looked online and saw the “before” pictures of the chalet. The owners did an amazing renovation!) We really enjoyed the use of the fire pit and the hot tub on property. The kids went to the neighborhood playground several times, and the whole family went on a hike (Big Bald) with amazing views that you can access through the neighborhood. Eating at the kitchen bar one day, we saw deer in the woods right in front of us! We were really tucked away in nature and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We went to the little general store to get coffee and ice cream a couple times. We also went to Weaverville (cute town) to eat and shop one day and made a couple trips to Asheville (to tour the Biltmore, see a play, eat, check out the arts district, and go zip lining/do a ropes course). It was just the right blend of things to do and in a cozy little home that worked out really well for us. We all had a great time and are already talking about going back in the winter!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Chalet, and even though our visit was brief, it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful details throughout the home. Everything, from the dishes to the multiple blankets, was carefully curated for our comfort. The cleanliness was remarkable, and it truly set the tone for a relaxing getaway. We loved listening to and dancing to the records – it added such a charming touch to our stay. The welcome snacks were a delightful surprise, and the handwritten notes scattered around the chalet made us feel so welcomed. As we were unfamiliar with the area, we greatly appreciated the recommendations for local dining – they were spot on!Although we didn’t have a chance to enjoy the hot tub, we did take the opportunity to marvel at the beautiful stars in the clear night sky, which was simply breathtaking. One highlight of our stay was discovering the chair massager—it was a perfect way to unwind after our long drive. We loved it so much that we even looked it up on Amazon! The Chalet definitely earns a 10/10 from us. I highly recommend the Chalet in this lovely gated community for anyone looking for a cozy, thoughtful retreat. We can't wait to return!

Pennela, your review just made our day and is the reason we love doing what we do! We are so happy to hear how much you loved our chalet and your time up here in these beautiful, breathtaking mountains. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the record player and massage chair amenities too! Next time you'll have to unwind in the hot tub as well. Looking forward to your next stay!
The Relax and Play Chalet is the perfect name for this property. It has everything you need for a worry-free, peaceful stay in the mountains. The check-in/check-out was easy and I had the host's phone # for quick text response to a question. We saw a deer outside our bedroom window on the first day! But you will see many deer while traveling around the lovely Wolf Laurel community. The property is centrally located in the stunning western North Carolina mountains. Our family of 3, including a young teenager, visited in the summer. There are so many choices of things to do, it's hard to decide. There are two must-do trails in the community, the hike to Big Bald and the lush Nature Trail linked to the Appalachian Trail near the country club. We had to ask someone how to find the Trail to Big Bald, everyone is very friendly though. There are stores nearby for essentials and a grocery store is only 20 min away. After spending the day hiking and swimming in different waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest or driving the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway we returned to the Chalet and had a nice soak in the hot tub next to the creek. There is a grill and gourmet kitchen fully stocked with all the cookware we needed. Beds were very comfortable, AC worked well, place was super clean, we would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our two night stay and how peaceful and secluded it was after a day at the Biltmore and an evening in Asheville. It was a restful, quiet retreat. The hot tub was perfect!! This unique, circular chalet had great attention to detail- the embroidered robes, a guest basket with treats, the record player and vinyls… We had an issue with the Roku tv not connecting (not that we wanted to watch much tv) and the host was responsive to resolve it.
