Immensely Charming Apartment on Balboa Island

Beautiful, light-filled Balboa Island apartment available for short-term or monthly stays.

- - PLEASE READ OUR RESERVATION RESTRICTIONS - -

We do not book stays of less than five nights more than 15 days in advance. We are currently booking through August 2025. Minimum stay requirement: two nights.

This one bedroom, one bath apartment is approximately 550 square feet in size and features a second "mini-room" with a built-in twin bed (167" long x 37" wide with built-in twin bed). Wonderfully light and open, it is located just five homes in from South Bayfront and Newport Harbor, and just one block to the island's shops and restaurants. Sophisticated but cozy décor with slip-covered sofa and chairs, natural wood pieces and pretty artwork. Located behind the main house, it has no common, living-space walls with the front house. Upgrades include: beautiful Caeserstone countertops in kitchen and bathroom; all new bathroom with white-tiled shower; outdoor deck with patio furniture and umbrella; private washer and dryer; one queen bed, one twin bed; den with open beamed ceiling. Full kitchen with dishwasher, newer gas range, refrigerator, all small appliances and cookware. Freshly painted white walls; new hardwood laminate floors in bedroom and mini-room; tile everywhere else.

A perfect getaway for a few nights or a week, or for interim housing.

Dear Guests - because of the patio's close proximity with the front house's master bedroom windows, we ask that you not play music or have late-night conversation on the patio.

A few things to note:

- Once you've booked the apartment, we will ask you to send us a copy of each adult's driver's license who will be staying at the property and for you to sign our Short-term Lodging Agreement. These are requirements by the city of Newport Beach.

- For stays longer than one week, we may require a completed rental application and reserve the right to run credit.

- During the summer, we prefer to rent for a minimum of five nights.

- On-site parking is not available. Street parking only.

Supplies Provided: three rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, beach towels, all lines and bath towels. Basic condiments in kitchen.

Wonderful apartment

This is a wonderful apartment to stay in. It is well maintained and very clean. The outside patio is wonderful in the evenings! The location is ideal. Very close to Marine Ave. where there is great food and shopping.I highly recommend.

Wonderful apartment, great location

Our visit on Balboa Island could not have been better. Sharon was a wonderful host, making us feel welcome on arrival. The apartment is perfect for a couple, very private and has everything you would need. The location was best on the island, right up the street from all the shops and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. Parking was easy too. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Stay on Balboa

This was a perfect place for our friends who were visiting from France. They loved staying near the shops and restaurants and the small-town feel that Balboa Island provides. The unit was delightful and comfortable. Sharon did a fantastic job of making sure that everything was in place - and followed up during the stay. We will definitely look for this unit next time.

Great apartment !

The apartment was perfect for my stay. The bed in The master bedroom is very comfortable. The kitchen has all the amenities you need and the living room area is roomy enough if you have two people . I traveled alone on this trip. It’s a half a block from the shopping area on Balboa island and a half a block from the Bay. Fabulous. I would definitely stay there again..

Great location in Balboa

The location is perfect in Balboa Island with easy access to the everything on Marine Avenue or the ferry to get across the water. The apartment was perfect size with accommodations for a family of 3. The layout is very open and has a great ocean breeze from all the windows. You can hear the neighbors next door if they talk loud, but it that wasn’t bad. All in all, it was a great location and stay. Sharon responded instantly with trying to help us get parking situated. We look forward to staying here again!

Balboa Getaway for Two

Great location on Marine Avenue, just steps away from Newport Bay. Perfect walk-up apartment for two. The large open patio off the dining area was great for relaxing and enjoying the cool ocean breeze. Parking space in the garage was convenient, as well as the washer/dryer. Neighborhood is quiet at night, but jets taking off from nearby John Wayne Airport fly over the island and are noisy at times. My husband and I always enjoy staying on Balboa Island. It hold many memories for us of family vacations since the 1950’s.

My stay at this cottage was the perfect weekend getaway. From the moment I booked, the host was incredibly communicative and welcoming. The location couldn't be better—tucked away just off the main street, making it easy to explore the island on foot. The cottage itself is a dream; I especially loved the private outdoor deck for my morning coffee and the fully equipped kitchen. It felt like a true home away from home. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a charming, relaxing stay on Balboa Island!

This was my second stay here . It’s perfect for me. Clean and comfortable. Restaurants and a market start a block away from the apartment . It’s parking on the street but never had a problem finding a space.

This unit was perfect for my husband and I. Sharon, the host was wonderful. She made sure our stay was on point. Communication was always on time(Sharon, not me lol)The unit was ready for us when we got there and she made sure we found it and were making ourselves at home. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. The corner market was a great place to get quick breakfast or snacks. They seemed to be fully stocked.

Perfect place to stay on Balboa Island

We had a fantastic stay. The place was perfect for us. We loved the location, it was very clean, nice size, full kitchen, great patio and the fans were awesome and had all that was needed. Sharon was quick to answer any questions and very accommodating. Once we arrived we parked our car and only moved it for the street cleaning once. We brought our beach cruisers and used them for all of our transportation. We would take the fairy across in the morning and rode everywhere. The island has nice restaurants and of course a balboa bar is a must. We walked down main street and rented paddle board and paddled around the island. It was beautiful. We would recommend staying at Sharons. We loved it and we’ll be back. Thank you Sharon for making our trip amazing!

Balboa Island Experience

We really enjoyed our Balboa Island experience. The apartment location was excellent and the supplies provided were also good but our main problem was that there was no hot water for a large part of our stay which greatly impacted our experience.

Who Needs Martha’s Vineyard?

Just a great location to walk from, visit nearby city highlights, rent an electric boat, or relax on the patio. The high ceilings and coffee ready to go were appreciated. Owner is great to work with. We can’t wait to get back again!
