Lakefront On Masten Lake

Excellent location that looks across the lake at all woods and beautiful trees, especially in the summer and the fall. Huge windows let you experience the lake and the exterior from inside while eating dinner or making breakfast.

Private lakefront with fire pit and your own dock to fish or simply hang out. 2 kayaks to get you out on the 100+ acre Masten Lake.


The Space:

Open floor plan designed by Hudson Valley architect is a warm, intimate space perfect for relaxing. Every room is filled with natural light accentuating the hardwood floors and natural wood beams. The most striking feature are the floor to ceiling two floor windows facing the lake. Even when you're inside you'll feel like you're outside.

Four bedrooms total: three on main main floor. Each with two to three windows. Studio/ bedroom downstairs with daybed and trundle bed.

Custom kitchen with natural wood cabinetry, soap stone countertops, stainless steel appliances and integrated cutting board (a choppers delight). Well equipped kitchen for amateur chefs.

Main bathroom has a jet tub with shower and built in cabinets.

Master bath has a custom shower with a pebble base.

Great room with vaulted ceiling, ceiling fans, wood burning fireplace, and floor to ceiling view of Masten Lake that just makes you exhale.

Peaceful fun and relaxing

The house had everything we needed to get started right away with our vacation. We swam, and loved kayaking. The toys and games kept our kids busy for hours. The kitchen was large and amazing for preparing food. We were so happy we came and look forward to coming again.

Amazing house and wonderful lake

Great house for a weekend getaway with the family. Need to bring very little - house has plenty of adult boardgames and kids toys. House is spotless with amazing windows looking out to the lake. House manager was attentive and responsive to all inquires. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Commune with nature at this beautiful lakeside home

My family stayed here for one week during the summer. The interior was beautiful and the architectural features evoked the surrounding nature - for example, the upstairs family room had high ceilings and large windows to let the sun in; the floors and ceilings throughout the upstairs were wooden; there was a wooden beam running across the family room that was made from a large stack of 2x4s with their grain showing, which gave the impression of the trunk of a grand fallen tree; there was a a slate-like wall surrounding the fireplace; and the floor of the master shower was made of pebbles that provided a warm foot massage when showering. The decorative elements around the house evoked peace and calmness, and were masterfully selected and located. The kitchen was spacious and was definitely designed with the cook in mind. The basement was essentially a large play space for kids. There was ample indoor entertainment available for evenings and rainy days - for example, lots of board games, a large selection of books, a piano, kid-friendly DVDs, and a toy car collection. The outdoor deck was suitable for a family dinner. There was a small backyard and front yard, which provide sufficient space for kids to run round. The lake access was more suited to launching a boat than swimming - the grass merged with pebbles near the waterline, and the shore was steeply sloped. There were jagged rocks in the water, and a fibrous matting weighed down by sand and stones that tangled our feet. Luckily, the town has a beautiful park with a pool ($5 fee per person) and playground. The immediate area is very quiet, and not much trafficked, so kids can run around, and you can enjoy a walk on the roads around the lake. It is easy to spend a good part of the day taking it slowly, going on walks, kayaking on the lake, and taking a trip to the town swimming pool. There are several kid-friendly destinations within a relatively short drive, where you can spend a few hours. There is a good supermarket in town, excellent NY-style pizza, an outstanding vegetarian restaurant, and a classic ice cream shop. If you prefer to cook, the stove is suitable and the cookware is abundant. The barbecue grill uses charcoal, and there is a "chimney" starter - give it a try if you've only used gas grills previously. Overall, this is a wonderful place to spend a vacation. The only caveat is that if you have young kids don't anticipate spending much time swimming in the lake.

Beautiful Home + Beautiful Lake=Wonderful Stay!

This newly renovated lake house has magnificent views and is in immaculate condition. Plus the house contains everything you could want...and more. There is a basement filled with toys (including a puppet theater) that your kids/grandkids will absolutely love. Every time we opened a cabinet, we were surprised by food (coffee, S'mores items, etc.). The electronics throughout the house are impressive, from cable to Wii to other video games. But the most impressive thing is waking up to a floor to ceiling view of the lake. Kayaks and a pedal boat await and yes, we did catch fish from right off the dock. There is an enormous, totally updated kitchen with outdoor barbeque as well as a fire pit steps from the lake. Tracy, one of the owners, is just terrific--Welcoming, helpful and just a delight to deal with. My only reluctance in recommending this home is that it will be impossible to book next time around. This is a keeper for sure!

The house was beautiful, spacious with plenty of room.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A very nice house with lots of amenities and huge windows overlooking a beautiful lake. There was a nice dock to swim and fish from ( and plenty of fish were caught) kayaks for kids and adults. We were 2 forty year olds, 2 sixty year olds and 4 brothers (age 10,9,6 and 2). A great time!

Perfect Family Gather Place!

Great house, great location on the lake and close to shopping. The owner responded immediately to our questions. It was a fabulous family vacation. We will rent there again if we not buy our own lake house.
