Thanks Melissa - we're so glad you enjoyed the home, host and the fishing! The vegetation at this location is noted - something the owners are trying to work on.
Amazing location with a beautiful view. Great spot for fishing right off the dock. Very quiet, lots of birds to see as well. Communication was excellent and immediate. Also appreciated the recommendations- there are several excellent spots in the area for food/beer.

Madeline, we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Lakefront Lodge! We are delighted that you found the location beautiful & peaceful. So glad you were able to take advantage of the fishing and local dining options we recommended. Thank you for your kind words and we hope to welcome you back soon!
4 adults and two teens and the house was perfect. Absolutely beautiful lake view. Nice dock for fishing. Fire pit was nice in the evening. Parking is tight but we were able to work with the host to resolve that. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Clean, cozy...nothing fancy but a very, very comfortable home base for in our case riding at Lost Trails. If you stay at this home, absolutely go to dinner at Nurnburger Bierhaus it was absolutely fantastic (reservations suggested). We were too early in the season to really take advantage of the lake other than appreciating its beauty, but in summer this home is set up great to enjoy time on the water. Bring some extra pillows and sheets if people will be using the pull out couches. The home is a little smaller feeling inside than the photos seem as is often the case with vrbo, but it was plenty of space for our group of 6 to be very comfortable. 3 good sized televisions is a nice touch. Xbox in the basement works but bring your own controllers- the ones there have some issues. Overall a great cottage on an a very pretty lake that was clean and well equipped. Host was very responsive and helpful.

Thanks for staying with us and the wonderful, detailed review. We fixed the Xbox controllers and will make sure extra pillows & blankets location are in the messages so they are easy to locate.
Absolutely beautiful pictures!
We had 4 adults 4 kids under 9 and the hot tub was the highlight of the kids stay. Even us adults got to have some peace in the hot tub once we got the kids watching a movie! Plenty of space amongst the levels of the house to not feel as though we were on top of eachother. The kids even played on the frozen lake in the snow!

Sounds like such a fun and memorable stay! Glad the hot tub was a hit for both the kids and the adults—it’s always nice to sneak in some peace and quiet. Thanks for being such great guests!
The heat wasnt working consistently, we wanted to enjoy the hot tub, there were no intructions on how to start it and the water remain cold. Overall it was a good experience. I enjoyed the whole house. Thank you for your communication throughout my stay.

Nicola, Please contact us during your stay if you experience any issues so we can address them right away. We always have the hot tub heated and ready to go - perhaps the breaker tripped or the lid was left open. The hot tub is less than 1 year old and is properly maintained. Hope to see you again and give you a 5 star experience.
Our family’s stay in July was highlighted by the proximity from the house to the lake, a new dock, a variety of outside and patio furniture, and great access for fishing; as well as a hot tub, air-conditioning, a modern kitchen, and 2 bathrooms, with 2 upstairs bedrooms, accommodating 4-6 people. Views from the upstairs porch, lower level porch and lakeside coast were beautiful and breathtaking with nature’s sounds! A quiet, finished basement was the perfect place to hang out, before AND after visiting the hot tub! (For a longer vacation like ours, we have suggested a washer/ dryer amenity, just for the convenience during our stay.) We did take many pictures, loved the outside spaces, were impressed by the hot tub, and also were enamored by the beautiful sunsets! Overall, we had a happy stay, made many great memories, and enjoyed renting this lovely lake house on Lake Henry. Thank you, Christianne!
My family stayed at the lake house and had a wonderful time! Spent a lot of time fishing on the lake, enjoying the downstairs room with basketball and xbox, doing puzzles and playing games upstairs, and of course grilling and the hot tub. Sitting in the hot tub at night watching the stars was really special.
Christianne answered all of our questions and responded to our requests really fast. We found the house in great condition and exactly matching the description. Would definitely stay there again.
If there was a single downside, as mentioned in the listing, there are some ruts in the road outside the house that make it a little bit dicey if you're in a sedan. Other than that, it was a great weekend getaway.

Thanks for your review Chris. I’m happy to hear you and your family had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the house has to offer - fishing, games, grilling and the hot tub under the stars. Thanks for mentioning the road, as you said, we call it out in the listing. It is a work in progress for sure. Hope you’ll be back again soon!
The house was exactly as advertised, and my family loved our visit. We fished from the dock, kayaked on the lake, hiked, read in the hammock, played pool, relaxed in the hot tub, and enjoyed evening card games and movie night. The kayaks and row boat were a huge hit, we were so thankful to enjoy them during unseasonably warm autumn weather! We didn’t utilize the fire pit (high fire risk/dry conditions during our visit), but the fire pit area was lovely. But for one dinner out we prepared all of our meals, and there were plenty of cooking and food prep supplies. I especially enjoyed the coffee provided. There were many thoughtful touches, such as shampoo and conditioner in the shower, throw blankets on the couches, and a dog bed for our Oreo. I would absolutely recommend a stay here - my 10 year old proclaimed it “the best house ever!” and is already asking when we can go back.

Clean, nice and noisy.
Very nice home and very clean. The yard and access to the lake were great. We had one problem which was taken care of immediately after one phone call. One thing that we couldn’t tell from the pictures is the close proximity to the neighbors. Our “quiet” 3 day vacation turned out to be anything but. Trees and brush were being cleared from the house 1 over from ours. Chain saws were blaring for 9 hours. We couldn’t hear each other talk. I understand that has nothing to do with the property but a heads up would have been nice, we could have rescheduled our days. The next day there were workers at the house next door. We could hear all their conversations. The irony of this is that there are noise sensors around the property so we would be quiet! There is no privacy at all in the back yard. Also the camera on the tree looking right into the living area was unnerving. The family really did enjoy the fishing from the dock and the kayaks. The lily pads were in bloom and beautiful. Our stay would have been really nice if not for the noise.

Thank you for your review and for highlighting what you enjoyed about the home—especially the cleanliness, lake access, fishing, and kayaks. We’re glad your family was able to enjoy those aspects during your stay.
We’re truly sorry to hear about the noise disruptions caused by the neighboring property. Unfortunately, what others choose to do on their own land is outside of our control, and we were not made aware of this issue during your stay. Had you reached out, we would have done everything in our power to address your concerns or offer suggestions to make your experience more comfortable. This is the first we’re hearing of any disturbance, and we always encourage our guests to communicate with us in real time so we can help.
As for the proximity of the homes and the outdoor layout, we strive to accurately represent everything through our photos and description—transparency is very important to us. The houses are spaced very reasonably for a lakefront community, and we’ve never received feedback suggesting otherwise until now.
Regarding the noise sensors, they are in place to ensure compliance with house rules and to prevent parties—not to monitor external sounds or what neighbors may be doing. The outdoor security cameras are clearly disclosed in the listing and are placed for guest safety, not for intrusiveness. That said, your feedback has been passed along to the homeowner, and they will review the placement of the camera.
We’re sorry that your stay wasn’t as peaceful as you had hoped due to the external noise, but in the future please contact us during your stay and give us the opportunity to address it. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again under quieter circumstances. Lake Henry is typically a very serene and quiet place, and we’re confident your experience would reflect that on a future visit.
