We are located in Altamont, TN which is an hour and a half from both Nashville and Chattanooga, and 45 minutes from Sewanee, Monteagle, The Caverns, Manchester and McMinnville. We are a family friendly retro cottage/cabin nestled in the trees on our 6 wooded acres next to a 10 acre spring fed lake, which keeps it full pool year round, and our own private dock and sun deck for swimming, sunning, floating, catch and release fishing and paddle boating.
Well behaved pets are welcome for a small fee but must be on a leash when off the property. They are also allowed at most local hiking spots.
Bring whatever you have that floats or use our 10 ft John Boat. (sorry no outboard motors allowed, but battery powered trolling and old school paddling are ok, paddles provided.

We had a very nice time. Only issues were the boat had a "repaired" crack in the bottom which leaked immediately making it unusable, and only about half the string lights worked outside. No major problems, we still had a great time...
Always so relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed feeding the fish, swimming, crafting, and movie nights. Coffee on the porch swing started each day off perfectly.
Perfect weekend getaway. Fished and swam and watched movies. Downstairs bed is amazing. Weather was a bummer but obviously nobody’s fault. Loved the porch sitting with my dog.
We were very happy with this place. We had so much fun swiming in the lake and playing volleyball! We drove to some nearby waterfalls on the dreary days which made it totally worth it.
This was our 2nd stay at the lake house. Needless to say it didn't disappoint. Beautiful weather made it an absolute perfect stay. Kids enjoyed fishing, kayaking and playing volleyball. The quiet peaceful setting is what was needed for all of us. We look forward to our next stay!
Enjoyed the families fall vacation. The cabin have everything you can think of. Great location in a quiet, relaxing place. Caught some small fish. We'll definitely be back again. Owner is so nice and very responsive.
We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful and tranquil property. Located on a very private lake and road, we felt like we were truly away from it all but still had the creature comforts. So many wonderful and beautiful hiking trails nearby combined with the clean and perfect temperature lake made this a paradise away from home.

We had an absolute blast staying at this Cabin! Only regret is that we did not stay long enough and will be sure to book more time here in the future. Everything was clean and stocked, just need to bring food and drinks and you are set! We made the best memories and can’t wait to go back.

Peaceful getaway
Our family had a great time here. We loved the quiet atmosphere. Our dog didn’t want to leave-he swam in the lake constantly. Bring whatever you need-no grocery stores nearby. Would stay here again!

Thank you Jill, we're glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet. It does have the one caveat that we are 30-45 minutes from Major shopping. So that you can enjoy your time here as much as possible we always recommend guests bring whatever food, toiletries, and supplies they might think they need with them to avoid the dreaded drive to town. Because if you're anything like us once you're here you never want to leave.
We hope to see you again soon.
Our families enjoyed the cabin and the lake. Fishing and kayaking were amazing. The wildlife was spectacular as were the stars. Very quiet place. Our only complaint was that the downstairs bedroom was hot, but it seemed to get better the longer we were there.
