About this property
Spacious High Country Custom Home with Stunning Views
Our property can be your home base for visits to the historic Route 66 and Bearizona in the town of Williams, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona and more. Over 2,600 square feet of luxury country living on 6 acres in a rural setting. The property is not far from the town of Williams, and the turn off from the highway will take you on a short drive on a maintained rural road to arrive on the property where you can relax and enjoy the expansive view of the western sunsets and natural surroundings. Beautiful hand scraped solid hardwood floors are throughout the home with modern amenities mixed with reclaimed rustic accents.
This home features a large, fully equipped entertainment kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a large island oak table. Lots of space for large gatherings. There is also a convenient laundry closet with a washer and dryer.
The great room has 16' vaulted ceilings with a large ceiling fan, Plasma TV and DVD player above the fireplace and a collection of classic and modern DVDs, a rustic stone wood burning fireplace, a built-in bookcase with a selection of books, and a dining area. French doors lead to the outside deck with barbeque, and stunning views overlooking the western horizon, great for gatherings and viewing the spectacular sunsets.
There are four large, roomy bedrooms. The master bedroom is over 300 square feet and includes a king size bed, a beautiful wood burning raised fireplace, French doors leading to the outside deck and more views of the horizon, and a TV and DVD player. The custom built master bathroom includes luxuries such as a spa tub, a large separate Travertine shower with a frameless glass enclosure, and Travertine floors and tile. The second bedroom includes a queen size bed, with access to deck and views. The third bedroom includes two twin beds with mountain views. The shared bathroom has a claw foot tub/shower and marble floors. The fourth bedroom is a large private studio upstairs above the den and is 500 square feet with a separate full bathroom. The studio includes two double beds, couch, chair and dinette, and a small kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and sink.
The living room, master bedroom and second bedroom open onto the expansive deck. The deck includes a built in barbeque island, and below the deck is a large circular flagstone patio with a fire pit in the center, great for gatherings and star gazing (please note that fire restrictions may apply during dry seasons).
During the summer months the temperature is usually moderate, however the home includes central air conditioning if needed, and is also equipped with central heating for cold winter days.
IMPORTANT: Off road vehicles and large vehicles such as busses are not permitted in the Cedar Mountain Heights community. Hunting is also prohibited.

About the host
Hosted by Loran and Dana
We are a family of seven, with extended family in three states, and we have a very very busy lifestyle. We look forward to getting away and simplifying our lives, even for just a short time on extended weekends. Hiking, searching for old relics or interesting rocks, and taking in the sights recharges us to tackle our routines back home.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we fell in love with the wide open spaces of northern Arizona, skies filled with stars, the wonders of the Grand Canyon and other points of interest, and the old-fashioned charm of Williams and historic Route 66.
What makes this property unique
We built the home to capture the fantastic westward sunset views and provide a place for family and friends to comfortably gather together. This is also a place where you can escape the rigors of daily routines and enjoy raw beauty, soak in the fantastic views, and is centrally located for visits to the popular spots in the area (historic Route 66 in Williams, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona and more).
Although all of the rooms are large, we wanted to make the home feel cozy, so we added custom rustic touches throughout the house. Our favorite features in the living area are the stone fireplace, built-in bookcase, and reclaimed wood accents.
To bring character to the modern kitchen, we added a custom-built stove hood, reclaimed light fixtures, and a 10' long antique oak table reclaimed from an old church that we now use as an island for cooking preparation or just simply to gather around.
We added an old-fashioned reclaimed claw foot tub into the guest bathroom, and decorated with a touch of old country French.
The master bedroom includes a fireplace accented with reclaimed tile and wood. Wood moldings, wood windows, solid wood doors, and wood floors throughout the house add to the cozy charm that we wanted to achieve.
There are fireplaces in the living and master bedroom to make it cozy during winter months and a fire pit outside on the lower patio to gather around and star gaze (outdoor fire restrictions may apply during dry season).
