The Moore Township Appalachian Park is less than three miles south of Kunkletown. It is large parkland covering almost 170 acres. It’s a popular destination for local residents who are looking for recreation and relaxation. For the more adventurous type, it is also a good place to explore because there are three interconnected hiking trails.
Also, across the Smith Gap View Road, the Pennsylvania State Game Lands Number 168 offers hunting opportunities but during the hunting season only. There’s also the more than a thousand acre of land in Jacobsburg State Park that feature several attractions like hunting, horseback riding, skiing, old growth forest hiking, fishing, and an education center. The nearby Beltzville Park in Lehighton has its fair share of local park attraction like lake and stream fishing, sandy beach for swimming, hunting, boating, and public pavilions.
