About this property

Gun Lake cabin

600 square foot, air conditioned two bedroom, one bathroom cottage within walking distance to swimming area with sandy beach and dock if you choose to bring your own boat. All sports lake is also great for fishing and swimming.

Master suite with queen size bed, second bedroom with bunk beds, and additional queen sleeper sofa available in the main living area. Kitchen is equipped with toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans, dinnerware, silverware, electric stove, full size refrigerator, and microwave. Flat screen television with cable and internet in main living area. Large deck with full size gas grill (propane gas provided by owner), patio furniture, and fire pit.

Resort has multiple playgrounds, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and shared beach area with picnic tables. Lake is mostly shallow so great for children to swim in. Close to restaurants, Tanger Outlets, Gun Lake Casino, US 131 Motor Sports Park, Yankee Springs Recreation Area, and grocery store.

Discounted rates before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day weekend.
Tenants must provide linens, towels, paper products; however, linens and towels are available for extra fee upon request.

Nice stay

The cottage was clean and comfortable. Though small, it was very doable. The only thing I'd suggest is to move the TV to a different location where it would be easier to watch. Other than that, we loved staying there and would do so again.

Dirty walls, dirty front door inside, with stains, able to see daylight from inside, floor trim was dirty and stained. Shower head was none working, had to call host to replace shower head. Shower/bathroom with dead bugs and cobwebs. Walls/ceiling dirty with cobwebs, ceiling fan caked with dust. Opened the windows and all windowsills with dirty with dead flies. No curtain or blinds in bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. The inside of oven was dirty. Inside of coffee pot was either lime or dried mold. Did not use the shower, as it was dirty. Toilet was loose when sitting on it, needed to be careful not to slip. Host met us on Monday evening to discuss everything that was bad. Talked about a full refund, but ended up agreeing to 50% money back, which we still have not received. Host asked us why we did not mention this on arrival/Saturday. We explained we were busy with our remodel which is why we had to be there for a week in the first place. Our response to his question; we did not notice, as we did not stay Saturday night, we dropped off groceries and left and did return until late Sunday evening. We had nowhere else to go that would take a dog and close, only 3 miles from our house. There was a conflict about earlier credit, as we changed our stay - from Thursday arrival to Saturday. There was some confusion on our part about money that was credit back, we figured it out, and host left abruptly, without saying a word. We have pictures to prove any discrepancies

We respectfully disagree with this review. Many of the issues mentioned are either exaggerated or were very minor. For example, the shower head had been removed for winterization and simply needed to be screwed back on, which was taken care of immediately. The property was fully functional, including the A/C, appliances, and utilities. The guests stayed for the duration of their reservation and did not report most of these concerns until later, after requesting a substantial refund. They even changed their reservation dates before arrival, which created confusion regarding credits and refunds. Despite that, we met with them in person to address their concerns. We strive to provide a clean and comfortable stay for every guest, and we take all feedback seriously. However, we also believe reviews should fairly reflect the overall experience rather than focus on minor cosmetic issues while seeking a significant refund.

One small complaint

Having a two year old it was annoying that locking the door did not keep him inside. It’s like a car door, lock it from either side, but you can still open it from the inside. That’s all. Highly recommend, other than that! 😊

Great Spot!

The property was exactly as stated. Really enjoyed the location and amenities it offered, especially for the littles. The dock was a little shaky and the poles were bent but we were able to make it work.

Nice Cottage

This is a nice little cottage in a friendly area. Only complaint is that it was cold (50s) while we were there and the little heater had a hard time keeping up. We ended up bringing our own space heater.
