Clonakilty, the home of Michael Collins, is just seven miles from the cottage and has a wide variety of delicious restaurants and, in particular, a traditional Irish pub where many renowned bands play, De Barra's. There is also the spoiling Incheydoney Spa with an indoor sea water pool and a thalassic health spa.

We loved our time here. The cottage was so charming and cozy with a well stocked kitchen. The proximity to the beach was ideal with a lot of coastline to explore. Gilly was very welcoming and helped make the stay feel very welcoming.
We were happy to be upgraded to the large, comfortable, impressive home. The surroundings are stunning! Gorgeous ocean views, cows, birds, dogs- suzy & honey. Gilly was a lovely hostess and prepared a delicious breakfast for us. We would love to return!
The property was even more lovely than pictures. The rooms were very large, and the garden was beautiful . Daniel was very easy to get in touch with, and very accommodating. My son got sick so he was gracious enough to let us check in a little early,. We were a little cold, but it got much cozier when we remembered to used the fireplace downstairs.

Ha, ha, ha. I think that you have got confused about the properties that you stayed in !
My wife and i were hoping for a charming cottage close to the. sea. We found it.
Gilly and Richard we always helpful and responsive to all questions or requests.
Be sure to do your shopping ahead of arriving. There are not stores in the immediate area.
They were even grateful we brought the sunshine with us.
The property was great. Gilly, the host was great!! VRBO was bad. They treated our host like crap. They didn't send us our final bill on time and somehow they were putting the blame on our host
VRBO is getting to big to give the proper respect to their hosts. People should check other options out. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay with our 4 college age kids. We were happily surprised to find farm fresh eggs, butter, homemade marmalade and delicious Dunworley Organic Greens in the refrigerator. The cottage is very comfortable, perfectly clean and well organized. The setting is charming inside and out. We recommend this home and hope to come again.
Our stay at Dunworley was lovely. Gilly and Richard were hospitable and fed us some amazing garden and ocean fresh meals. The scenery was breathtaking and our lodging was warm, inviting and felt like home.
This was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed! The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. The views are stunning and the property is rife with history and character. HIGHLY recommend!
A charming and cozy cottage that fully lived up to the pictures and descriptions. The dinner by owner-chef Gilley was excellent! I took my daughter, son-in-law, and two young grandchildren for two nights and it was ample accommodation for all. The setting (3 minute walk to beautiful beach) and surrounding area was full of terrific outdoor adventures. My daughter, an author, said it would be the absolute perfect place to steel away to write a novel! Thank you Richard and Gilley!
Wonderful country cottage close to the beach and majestic cliffs
Ideal setting to enjoy the real Ireland. Gorgeous countryside set along a stunning coastline. The cottage is warm and feels like home with lots of bedrooms and wonderful sitting room with windows that look out on to the lush green countryside. Gilly and Richard are perfect hosts. I highly recommend the in cottage dining option, absolutely delicious. We will be back with more of the family next time!
My friends and I purposely wanted to stay somewhere off the beaten path and Dunworley Cottage was perfect! Lovely stone home, eclectic decor... it might as well have been a postcard. We ordered breakfast 2x and it was exceptional. We would have ordered dinners as well but we wanted to experience the local cuisine (also fantastic... Monks was GREAT). Gilly and Richard gave us wonderful “locals” sight seeing options...so grateful that we got to experience some of the Ireland that tourists miss out on. Beach is a 5 minute picturesque walk! Fantastic people and accommodations. I wish we could’ve stayed longer and next time I will!
*Take note for those of you that aren’t handy with directions, download google maps offline for the area. Even if you don’t have GPS you can use Siri to get you anywhere you want to go.
Thanks again!

We had the breakfast and it was one of the best meals we had on our trip. It was a truly beautiful spot on the coast and the accommodations were top notch. Beds were very comfortable. It is out of the way but well worth drive. Gilly always responded to any messages very quickly. They also offer dinner which likely would have been awesome too if the breakfast was any indicator. We ate at a restaurant only 15 minutes away called Dillon’s which was the best meal on our trip. Great great place to stay
NO RESPONSE FROM OWNER ONCE PAYMENT MADE AND ADDRESS NOT RELEASED AS SAYS ON VRBO. PROPERTY UNMARKED
UNRESPONSIVE AND UNWELCOMING OWNER. DIDN'T GET A RESPONSE FROM THEM THRU VRBO UNTIL MERE MINUTES BEFORE OUR SCHEDULED LATE ARRIVAL. NO WELCOME, INSTEAD TOLD OFF FOR NOT ANSWERING EMAILS WE NEVER WERE TOLD TO LOOK FOR. AND WE HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR A WEEK AT THIS POINT. NO INTRODUCTION BY GILLEY. SHE SHOWED US THE BATH AND THE TRASH "SYSTEM". COTTAGE SMELLS OF MILDEW AND THE BEDS WERE HORRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE, LUMPY AND DAMP. UPSTAIRS BATHROOM FLOOR LEAKS TO FLOOR BELOW. COMPLICATED PROCESS TO USE THE SHOWER. HAVING TO TURN ON BATH THEN SHOWER THEN TURN OFF BATH, ALL WITHOUT ANY WATER GETTING ON THE FLOOR. WATER HEATER IS LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE THE DEAD. OR A SNORING HUSBAND. OWNER WANTS TRASH SORTED INTO NUMEROUS UNMARKED RECYCLE BINS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. CONFUSING PROCESS TO BE TOLD VERBALLY @ 11PM W NOTHING NOTED ANYWHERE. PRE CHARGED FOR CLEANING PRIOR TO STAY AND EXPECTED TO LEAVE THE UNIT CLEAN! EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T STATE THAT ANYWHERE IN CONTRACT, NOR DID THE OWNER STATE THAT VERBALLY UPON ARRIVAL. WHICH WAS THE ONLY TIME SHE SPOKE TO US AT ALL, LIVING THREE FEET AWAY. CHARGED FOR CLEANING AGAIN AFTER WE LEFT OUT OF SECURITY DEPOSIT. CALLED DISGUSTING FOR NOT DOING DISHES. WE DON'T CLEAN IF WE ARE BEING AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED FOR CLEANING WHEN WE STAY IN VRBO'S. OWNER ACTUALLY MENTIONED WE DIDN'T MAKE THE BEDS, SO DON'T EXPECT CLEAN BEDS WHEN YOU SLEEP HERE! VRBO PICS ARE NOT AT ALL ACCURATE, MAIN HOUSE IS SHOWN FOR OUTSIDE PICS, NOT THE RENTAL YOU ARE GETTING. SO DON'T PLAN ON THE LITTLE ATRIUM ROOM IN THE PICS BEING AVAILABLE. BECAUSE IT ISN'T. AND INTERIOR PICS ARE EITHER OF A BETTER DAY THAN THE PRESENT, OR ARE OF THE OTHER COTTAGE. PROPERTY IS NOT MARKED IN ANY WAY. DOOR TO COTTAGE DOES NOT LOCK AND DOES NOT ALWAYS STAY LATCHED. WOKE UP WITH THE FRONT DOOR WIDE OPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. STAY ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY OF IRELAND. VRBO SHOULDN'T EVEN ALLOW THIS LISTING IMO. IT IS A MISREPRESENTED FILTHY OLD HOME THAT NEEDS MUCH MAINTENANCE TO BE WORTHY OF A HOLIDAY STAY AT THIS PRICE. THE WIFI RECEPTION ADVERTISED AS GOOD WAS NON EXISTENT TOO. CAN'T SPEAK TO THE TV AS WE NEVER USED IT. BUT THE LACK OF ANY KIND OF WELCOME OR HOSPITALITY WAS BEYOND RUDE. THIS IS NOT HOW ANYONE SHOULD BE MADE TO FEEL ON SUCH A HOLIDAY. THIS COTTAGE STAY WAS THE ONLY BAD PART OF OUR ENTIRE TRIP TO THIS BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY. STAY IN ONE OF THE WONDERFUL NEARBY SMALL TOWNS LIKE KLONAKILTY AND VISIT DUNWORELY BEACH, BUT DON'T STAY IN THIS PLACE.

This is a disingenuous review and I feel disappointed with the platform for not protecting the homeowner more .
This guest left 2 days worth of dishes, frying pans saucepans and rubbish, it was disgusting . I looked for extra cleaning money, having sought advice from vrbo. I have never had a guest leave the cottage in such a condition!
This is a 'revenge review' !
I prefer having technically adept, intelligent, honest, thoughtful, considerate, well mannered and charming people to stay in my cottage!

Rustic, quirky cottage near beautiful beach
We had a nice stay at West Cottage in Dunworley. The home was clean, well-stocked, and fairly comfortable. Gilly was very friendly and helpful. The best part about our stay was the nearby Dunworley Beach. At low tide it is a magnificent place to explore. Truly one of Ireland’s hidden gems.
There are a few things to note about the cottage. First, there is no actual view of the ocean from the cottage. The beach is an easy 5-10 minute walk up and down the hill, but it cannot be seen from the house. Second, the dryer is the same machine as the washer and it takes a really long time to dry even a small load. Gilly suggested we use the clothesline, but if you have a large family and a lot of laundry as we did, the clothesline isn’t very practical. Finally, while a crib, high chair and baby-gate are provided, the house and furnishings are not very child-friendly. I was constantly worried that my kids were going to break something.
Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this cottage to a family with older kids/teenagers or a small group of adults.

Charming + relaxing!
Our family of four stayed at this lovely cottage January 2019 to kick off the new year. We all loved it! Thank you Gilly + Richard! And the delicious dinner we ordered from Gilly for our arrival night still is the highlight of our trip. :)

About the host
Hosted by Gilly Murphy
We have a small garden in West Cork which we farm organically. We have two cottages on the property which we rent out.
Why they chose this property
Dunworley is somewhere that we used to visit a lot, being the most beautiful beach in Ireland! The property used to be the famous organic restaurant, Dunworley Cottage Restaurant, where we we would often eat. When it came on the market we fell in love and moved here with our family to start out own organic small holding. We couldn't resist having the most breathtaking vistas on our doorstep!
What makes this property unique
You can have a delicious gourmet dinner cooked by a professional chef.
Incomparable walks on the Seven Heads Peninsula (on the Wild Atlantic Way) with incredible views.
