Thank you Susan for this great feedback. I'm delighted to know that you, Rob and the adorable Amber enjoyed your stay so much and I hope to welcome you back again sometime. Annette
A warm welcome that made us feel at home straight away!
Nothing was too much trouble & lots of local info which we found very useful!
Can't wait to stay again!
The property is exactly as described and it was amazing to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. If you have small kids, the Buccaneer beach is pretty rocky so you will want to walk closer to the pier so they can have more fun.
I had the most amazing relaxing stay. The barn was warm cosy and had everything you could possibly need. Annette was an amazing host there if you needed her and had some great tips on places to visit. Will definetely be back!

Very friendly welcome and welcome pack. Rural location, so quiet and restorative. Characterful converted barn with nice wood burning stove if necessary. Good location for exploring from Bantry (west) to Cobh (east) but be prepared for a fair amount of driving on country roads.
We were welcomed by Annette the host who was extremely friendly and showed us around the cottage and gave us plenty of local recommendations.
Lovely cottage, dog friendly with large garden for him to play in.
10 minute drive to nearby Clonakilty, a lovely town with superb supermarket Supavalu and easy access to beaches
This cottage is an idyllic setting in the country but close to some lovely communities for shopping, history and exploring. Our host, Annette, was wonderful. She is an attentive communicator, and left us with a comfortable converted ‘pig style’ with all the modern comforts.
Excellent few days at The Barn just outside Clonakilty. Fab conversion and hospitality from Annette. Pity we couldn't stay longer as lots to do and see. Hope to be back soon. Thanks Annette.
We loved staying at the barn! The place is very quiet and super green and the barn and the attached terrace is very private - except for the little white wagtail visiting every now and then. The barn has everything you need and a little extra to have a very comfortable stay. Toaster, coffee machine, a comfy fireplace, apple TV. It is very clean as well.It is a little drive away from town but thats what makes it so nice. Everyhing you might need is still within reach - such as the best supermarket we've come across: Supervalu in Clonakilty. The host was so kind and generous with her tips - we could have easily spend 2 weeks in the region without getting bored.
Great communication leading up to our arrival. Great advice on local area and futher afield. We took her advice - less can sometimes be more - and explored and enjoyed the local coastline and experieces to the full, ensuring we have to come back for more!! The fresh eggs and salmon kindly provided were a breakfast treat sitting out in the sunshine and later that evening enjoying our bottle of wine in the setting sun, what a glorious spot and lovely accomodation.
This is a gem! The pictures don't do it justice. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, a view of the magical hills of Ireland we immediately felt at home. There was an amazing welcome basket of local food awaiting us in the light, fully appointed kitchen. The bed and living room furniture were very comfortable and everything spotless. Patio with sliding doors and apple, pear and plum trees right there along with visits from chickens too. (They were a hoot!)
In addition to being a wonderful space, Annette, the host, made everything even better. She responded to all communication prior to and during our stay and gave us excellent information about hikes, restaurants and places to see. Her love and knowledge of her home and county made her an excellent guide.
We plan on returning and next time want to stay longer!
Location was quiet and peaceful, very nice countryside scenery. The roads are a bit narrow but that’s how it goes. Good WiFi signal and access to streaming apps.
