Response from VrboOwner on 30 July 2025
Raymond was pleasant to communicate with. However, the reservation was made for 1 guest, but it appeared that 14 people stayed at the property. We kindly ask that guest counts be communicated accurately, as additional guests do increase cleaning time and associated costs. As expected, the house was left a bit untidy. Aside from that, the stay went smoothly.
The place was great. The only suprise was the washed out dirt road and steep, rough dirt driveway. I'm glad i had 4wd. Overall it was a great place and I'd imagine it would be a great spot for a summer vacation, when its not raining. The driveway/road should be graded and leveled out a bit but i understand i was staying during mud season. Also, if i have to pay a host fee and cleaning fee, why do i have to strip the beds, take out the trash and clean before i leave? This always suprises me.

Marie,
I am glad you had a good stay. It was a tough winter and we are working on having the inclined driveway regraded. There are two entrances, with the second entrance being less steep. This is noted in the check in instructions. For clarification, we only ask that you strip the bed sheets and leave the dwelling as you find it. This is typical of all short term rentals.
Thanks,
Steve and Danielle
The Hosts were amazing to deal with through VRBO as we chose this location outside of town for Bike Week in Laconia. Prior to us arriving they had notified us about the heavy rains they’ve been getting and the potential driveway challenge so they directed us to an alternate driveway into the property. The 500’ dirt driveway takes you out into the woods, past a small house and then between two small ponds before climbing a small hill up to this beautiful older post and beam farmhouse. We were able to tuck our three motorcycles into the small garage out of the weather each day and night as we were only 25min from the Laconia area. About the house.. the pictures do not due the house justice. The ceilings are high. The post and beam shows through each room. The master bedroom has no AC but the windows do open. A suggestion would to put a portable air conditioner in that room due to the smaller windows as it can get hot. The bed was extra comfortable. The other two rooms had air and nice comfy beds from the feedback we got. The back enclosed deck was nice to hang out on and grill. We were unable to find the grill light switch for the spotlight under the eve. The dining room and kitchen were spacious with newer granite type countertops. Be careful when opening the fridge to not hit the wall. The downstairs bathroom is spacious and also has a shower. The upstairs bathroom is a bit smaller and only has a tub which wasn’t an issue with our crew of five. All in all we loved it! Thanks

About the host
Hosted by Danielle & Steve Budak
Welcome to our Alexandria getaway! We’ve always loved opening our home to friends and family, and we became hosts to share that same warm hospitality with guests looking to create their own special memories. When we aren't at the house, you can usually find us out on the water—we are huge boating enthusiasts! We spend as much time as possible enjoying the pristine waters of nearby Newfound Lake, or taking trips over to explore the broader waters of Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam. We absolutely love the lake life up here in New Hampshire, and we hope you fall in love with this beautiful area just as much as we have!
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Alexandria because it offers the ultimate balance of peaceful woodland serenity and endless outdoor adventure. What we enjoy most about our neighborhood is that it is truly a perfect four-season destination—the scenery is breathtaking year-round, and there is always something incredible to do right outside our door! In the warmer months, the scene is all about the water and the woods: swimming, boating, and fishing on the crystal-clear nearby lakes, or hiking the beautiful local trails. When the temperature drops, the area transforms into a winter wonderland that is perfect for skiing and snow machining. Whether you are looking to soak up the summer sun on the water, take in the vibrant fall foliage, or hit the snowy trails in the winter, our neighborhood is an absolute paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our beautiful property apart is the rare combination of total privacy, unbeatable convenience, and incredible rustic charm. It is a truly unique home that offers a peaceful, secluded retreat where you can relax and feel completely tucked away in nature. Inside, you'll find a perfect blend of modern updates and cozy character—featuring gorgeous exposed wooden beams, a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a welcoming, sunlit living area with plenty of room for everyone to gather. Yet, despite this wonderful wooded tranquility, we are perfectly located just a short distance from town, giving you quick and easy access to local restaurants, shops, and everyday amenities. For summer fun, boaters will love the incredibly easy access to Newfound Lake via the nearby Wellington Beach boat ramp. And for our winter guests, one of our absolute favorite standout features is the direct access to snowmobile trails right on the property, allowing you to gear up and ride straight out from the yard! It’s the perfect home base that offers the best of both worlds: a quiet, beautiful escape with all the conveniences and adventures you want right at your fingertips.
