On the banks of the Coosawattee River, in the highly desirable Coosawattee River Resort. This Mountain Beauty in tucked into the woods of the North Georgia Mountains. Sweetwater Retreat is a beautifully decorated log cabin featuring, wood burning fireplace,Two King Bedrooms, plus a cozy sleeping loft with twin daybed, 2 full Baths and is pet friendly with a hot tub overlooking the river. There is also a small dog "convenience" area off the deck along with all the decks being gated and a secure screened porch. This cabin is sure to be on your favorites list and features the following for your pleasure:

Gilmer County STR license # 003976

Coosawattee River Resort charges a $59 gate fee for all reservations, plus a $20 resort fee paid through Sliding Rock Cabins and we submit it to the resort. If a reservation is made within 2 business days of arrival, the resort charges an additional $20. There is an amenity card provided for every reservation. If it is not returned to Sliding Rock Cabins, there is a $120 fee to replace it. Coosawattee River Resort has implemented fines for certain behaviors while occupying the cabin. These fees will be charged to the guest, and guests agree to paying these fines via security deposit or authorizing a credit card charge:
- Reckless Endangerment, trash, littering; $150
-Noise complaints: $250 and above
-Discharge of Firearms & unattended fires $500

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. No refunds, rebates, or compensation will be offered. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST PURCHASING VACATION RENTAL INSURANCE with your travel insurance of choice. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfortable but the sounds of the river and river access is amazing! We love the location and the amenities that are available. Will be back soon!

I think there were no lightbulbs in the ceiling fan/light, which was like 20 feet off the ground. Good outdoor seating and views of the river. Good design for our dog to wander within three connected fenced areas: the dog relief area, the screened deck, and the lower deck with picnic table and hot tub. A relatively low number of loose dogs in the neighborhood. No walking trails within walking distance, but we enjoyed walking on the steep roads, included a road with no houses. Some in our party thought the beds were too hard. The dining table was pretty tight for four, but the location by the river more than made up for it. We loved being able to enjoy a wood fire in the fireplace.

Easy river access and we always love how everything is dog proofed. Absolutely loved our trip- this place had everything we needed. The driveway was super difficult to pull into even with an SUV, and the drive to get to the cabin was rough but those are the only complaints. We will be back!!!

Very uncomfortable and bouncy. That is the only reason we will not rent again for vacation. SRC helped us right away with the roku tv. I don't mind ring camera on the driveway, but I didn't like it at the front door.

The house was so beautiful, however upon my family departure cleaning the house I noticed that there was trash under the dressers and bed that wasn’t for us. However, it was a very simple clean up. I really enjoy the communication with the property managers very sweet and kept us up to date on anything happened in the area. I do definitely plan on coming back next summer again. Very dog friendly which I loved. Wish the dog area and lighting in the dog area was a little bigger, but we manage. Thank you all for everything you did for my family to enjoy this home.

Christmas Mountain Holiday

Lovely property- We loved the visiting Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Mercier’s Orchard is a must, especially the fried pies. The house was spotless, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Loved hiking each day and coming home to a roaring fire. The dogs had the best time running along the river bank. This is the dog-friendliest property we have ever stayed at with a small fenced area right outside the kitchen door. Screened porch was delightful! Check-in was easy with great communication and specific directions. We hope to come back in the fall for leaves and apples!

Sitting on the screen porch, deck or down by the river just relaxing with the sounds of nature, deer roaming close and the river flowing so close to us! This is exactly what we wanted. The cabin is so clean, pet friendly and everything we could need is there...fully stock kitchen. The beautiful wood burning fireplace was such a welcome feature. We will be back to this cabin, hopefully very soon!

Reviewer Comments: We are long term clients of Sliding Rock Cabins, having over 20 years of rentals with them. This our second stay at Coosawatee Resort. We had two issues that were taken care of: an infestation of "noseeums." The second day, the cabin was treated and problem seemed to be eradicated. However, we had to Wash the bed linens twice on the first & second days to ensure the biting bugs were completely gone. The second issue was the main road to the cabin was closed for washout repairs. We recommend having an alternate route on the rental paperwork since routing us into the cabin required an after hours call to the office to be guided in. After that, things went smoothly despite the lingering bug bites.

fantastic home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place overall is fantastic, however it is on a gravel rd and was difficult to find with directions. There is little space to turn around in the driveway as we own a truck. You would have to go up the rd past your. Place to navigate a turn around. The place s cozy and cute. Three suggestions thou. I don’t know if there is anything that can be done, but the window panes on the door going out to the patio must be double panes and are fogged up making them look dirty. It’s a beautiful view of the river and this distracts from it. Second, I believe the outside light for the driveway maybe shorted out. We could not get it to stay on, it would flicker out, which was scary at night if you had to let a dog out. Also upstairs bathroom floor between door and study are, there is a screw or nail that protrudes out and I caught my foot on it a couple of time. Hot tub was wonderful and everything was fantastic. Would definitely go again
