Casa Tres Hombres - Canyon Road Retreat - Wonderful garden/courtyard!!
NOTE: Maximum 6 guests including children. HOLIDAY rentals - 10 night minimum
Imagine staying in a historic double adobe home dating from the late 1800’s (updated, of course with fresh paint throughout, air conditioning, new gas stove). It’s located not only on the prestigious Eastside, but also on Canyon Road, only one block from El Farol, Geronimo, and the Tea House, at the top of the gallery section of Canyon Road. The Plaza is only 1.3 miles away.
Casa Tres Hombres can sleep up to six. The main home is 1475 square feet with two-bedrooms and two-baths. At the rear of the property is a studio/casita for additional sleeping and an additional full bath.. All bedrooms have queen beds.
Here you can enjoy all the features you think of in Santa Fe architecture. The floors are mainly Saltillo tile. There are a total of 3 kiva fireplaces. The main living areas have viga ceilings, as well as a number of skylights, providing a light-filled space. The double adobe construction keeps the home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
The queen master bedroom suite has its own full bath (tub with shower). There is a kiva fireplace in this room, as well as a TV. There is an office niche with desk and chair if you want to work quietly, away from the living area.
The second bedroom also has a queen bed. There is a hall bath with shower (no tub) that serves as the main bath and is located between that bedroom and the living room.
The cozy living room has comfortable brown leather seating, and a flat screen HDTV. You will enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning kiva fireplace on those cool evenings.
The kitchen is galley style and is fully equipped with colorful dishes and everything you will need for preparing that gourmet meal. There is seating for six in the dining room. There is also a small dinette off the kitchen.
In spring, summer, and fall, the back yard is beautifully landscaped and features a granite fountain, created by a local artist. This area is totally enclosed, so perfect if you bring your dog. There are two areas for relaxing outdoors: a wrought iron table and chairs for eating out, as well as a raised area under a gazebo with a table and chairs. There is a mountain view when the trees shed their leaves. This is an area you will surely enjoy with Santa Fe’s forever sun all seasons of the year.
At the rear of the yard is a small studio/casita. It has one bedroom with a queen bed and fireplace. There is also a bathroom with shower. Rental of Casa Tres Hombres includes the casita.
Casa Tres Hombres has all the amenities you would expect in a great vacation rental in Santa Fe: WIFI, HDTV, telephone, washer/dryer, and off-street parking for 2 cars. NOTE: The parking is tight and will not accommodate oversized vehicles. The main house and casita have a mini-split, ductless, air conditioning system.
Destino Santa Fe is a cooperative, private group of homeowners and we are proud to represent Casa Tres Hombres.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was very comfortable and suited three couples very well. We enjoyed a fire in the fireplace, and the kitchen was well stocked. It was absolutely wonderful and hope to return.
Family absolutely loved the place, the structure of it, the decorating, location, safety, walking, etc. Couldn’t be a better place in Santa Fe than this!!!
The house was perfect for our stay.
The house was clean and had a great layout
We loved the location, with the easy walk to a park, restaurants and galleries.
We hope to stay at this location again.
We had a great experience! The house was very clean and nice! In close proximity to lots of art studios! Property manager was very quick to respond and friendly!
We stayed during a cold snowy week. The yard was perfect for our two Goldens. And the park just down the driveway was fantastic. Sara Fe has our second favorite dog park at the Frank Ortiz dog park. Location close to downtown is fantastic. Art of display everywhere.
Trifecta of Santa Fe! This home was perfect for four of us. We walked to Indian Market and all over Santa Fe from this home with an absolutely perfect location - 2 blocks from the Tea House and El Farol. Three blocks from Geronimo. When we needed a break from the hustle and bustle of pre and post Indian Market we were able to relax out doors on the wonderful patios. One of the best properties in Santa Fe! We'll be back. Thank you for a great living experience.

The property was beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It was well stocked with necessities.
This property is conveniently located in the art and restaurant area. Many places were within walking distance, yet, it was very private and quiet. All our necessities were met and even exceeded - i.e. they provided large soap bars for bathing. Plenty of kitchen dishes and utensils available for those that wish to dine in; however, there are several high end restaurants within walking distance. The property is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There is plenty of patio seating area and a good gas grill. The only problem we encountered was that the shower head in the master bath was broken, but it was replaced immediately. Great and prompt maintenance service! The only recommendation I would make is that air conditioning needs to be added to the casita guest house. The fan was inadequate during the day to handle the heat making it a bit uncomfortable for our friends staying in the casita. However, the main house does have air conditioning in both bedrooms which kept the temperatures very comfortable and they are incredibly quiet! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for anyone looking for a splendid experience in Santa Fe!

30 day stay
I must preface this review with saying that the main house was as advertised. It was a historic home so a lot can be overlooked. And we enjoyed the charm of the place and found it to be clean and cozy. The location was great and we love Santa Fe. With the first snow our electricity went out but only for 3 hours. One day the water was brown for 24 hrs due to the city working on the fire hydrants and the toilets had to be plunged several times. The management company was quick to respond the entire time. We rented for 30 days.
However the casita was a bust. When we entered the casita there was a strong odor of gas and the management company asked the gas company to inspect which they did on day 7 and put a danger sign on the heater and the gas was turned off. An electric heater was brought in and it took 3 days to heat the room and bath. When our guests arrived there was no hot water because the gas was turned off. They had to come across the patio in the cold to a shared bathroom in the main house. Although the main house was clean we noticed dead bugs in the casita. Not at all what we wanted for our guests. A valve needed to be replaced in the gas heater and it was difficult to find someone available to fix it. We left on day 30 and it still wasn’t fixed.
After several emails to the management company who communicated with the owner, an offer was made to refund a fraction of the rent minus the fees and taxes and we accepted.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 Dec 2022
Thank you for your honest review. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the main house during your month-long stay in Santa Fe, and, of course, disappointed that there were a number of external factors that influenced your experience during your stay. Thank you also for pointing out that we were quick to respond the entire duration of your stay and did everything within our capacity to ensure you and your guests were as comfortable as possible.
Our objective is to have our houses in perfect condition so guests can enjoy their vacation. The problems you noted were unforeseen, and, as you stated, we did everything in our power to rectify the situation. Sadly, the issue with the casita was out of our hands, as no plumbers were available to respond in a timely way.
The beginning of winter is always a difficult time for the historic district. As you mentioned, the winter weather caused a short power outage and city water works impacted the water to the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the beginning of winter is also a common time for historic homes to have heating and plumbing issues.
We were terribly disappointed that this was the case in the stand-alone casita. It was distressing that no plumbers were available due to the overload of emergency work. On the flip side, in a time when so many homes were left without heat and water, we were relieved you were not forced to leave the property and that there were two other bathrooms in the main house available for you and your guests to use.
The unfortunate turn of events that were completely out of our control left us distraught and frustrated over the inconvenience to you and your guests. The least we could do was offer substantial financial compensation for the inconvenience of one quarter of the monthly rental price.
We pride ourselves on providing quality properties for guests so they can enjoy the beauty of Santa Fe without stress. We are so disappointed these experiences impacted your visit, but hope you’ll feel confident knowing that we will also do everything within our power to keep you comfortable and happy during your stays with us.

Great location.
Property could use paint, deep cleaning (walls and carpet were filthy), and some updating. The pump in the fountain was so loud the neighbors asked us to shut it down, the outdoor cushions were trashed. There were no trash bags, laundry soap, dish and hand soap were 90 % water. The location is great!
The house was the perfect size and location for us. It was very cozy and comfortable. The garden was the best place for coffee in the morning to enjoy the perfect weather. Would definitely recommend.
Great location, great garden, small but functional for two people and a dog. We had an issue regarding cleanliness upon arrival that was taken care of and resolved the next day. A charming little place that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at again.
This home was very charming. We loved the Pueblo style of the house and the interior decor to go with it. The house is tucked back from the street in an alley, so it was quiet and the neighbors were nice. The backyard was great for dogs! Felt very private.
The best part about this property is the location: right down the street from the famous galleries of Santa Fe. We also walked the ~1 mile to downtown a few times. Would recommend this house for short term or long term trips (we stayed for 1 month).
Only negative thing about this house is that the toilets are old and can cause trouble. But we made do.
Great house in a great location. Easy walk to Canyon Road restaurants and galleries. Well equipped kitchen and cozy fireplaces. House stayed nice and warm during the snow storm.
we loved this house and its garden--great for our dog, directly across from park. house is old and charming, with some of the quirks one might expect from its age....but nothing major. Not a lot of space in living room, but the large and comfortable garden with two different tables makes up for it.
We had a great stay! Ideal location near all the art galleries, in a quiet safe neighborhood. Brand new bath towels, a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, lovely outdoor spaces, and even a washer/dryer for laundry. Driveway is very narrow so large vehicles will have some difficulty. It's a very walkable area near excellent dining options, as well as a park and hiking trails. We will definitely stay here again in the future!
This house is lovely and worked perfectly for our family and our dog. The courtyard and the casita at the back of the property are both much bigger than they appear online. Plus, there is a great park across the street that we put to good use. We will definitely stay here again!
