The property is in a prime area for hiking the Colorado Trail or numerous other trails, climbing 14'ers, fishing, biking, rafting, paddle boarding, horseback riding, snowmobiling in the winter, and much more. Take a drive in the summer over Independence Pass and drop down into Aspen, Colorado for a day of viewing art galleries, shopping, and dining. For relaxation, soak in one of the nearby hot springs.

Storms/Winter Driving Conditions (Nov.-April) -
Mountain roads are maintained and plowed but the weather is unpredictable and delays or road closures are possible. We highly recommend a AWD/4WD vehicle in the winter months, as the driveway is somewhat steep. The last mile to the Lodge is a gravel road that is plowed when 4 or more inches of snow falls. The driveway will also be plowed when 4 or more inches of snow falls. Please plan accordingly and be sure to pay attention to the local and regional weather. We will not be held responsible for any delays, cancellations or lack of access due to road conditions and/or weather related delays, which are beyond our control. Please check road conditions prior to traveling.
**Please note that there are security cameras above the three exterior entrances facing out into the property. These are located above the garage, main and side entrances, and are for security purposes only**

About the host
Hosted by Nancy Moore (owner)

I am a Colorado native living in Littleton, but I have traveled out of the country on a number of occasions, visiting places such as England, Spain, the Caribbean, Mexico, Peru and Canada. I grew up in Conifer, Colorado, which is about an hour's drive from Denver. We had horses, dogs and cats growing up and and endless space to ride horses, hike and snowmobile, so needless to say I love the outdoors.
Why they chose this property
This cabin was my dream for years, and was finally completed in 2009. It is my second home and I love giving others the opportunity to enjoy it as much as I do myself. Picturesque and secluded, at the base of Mount Elbert, the property looks over the Mosquito Range. The panoramic views are amazing, and the proximity to not only Twin Lakes, but jeep trails, beaver ponds, hiking trails, and even the town of Aspen give you a number of activities to choose from. I truly think you will be amazed at the beauty and tranquility of the area - I have such a hard time leaving every time I come up!
What makes this property unique
I love log homes, and this open floor plan with the high ceilings, beetle kill hardwood on the walls and floors, the slate flooring in the bathrooms, the shower and under the wood-burning stove, along with the soft carpet in the large 800 sq. ft. loft. The half log staircase leading to the loft just adds to the beauty of the place! There is virtually no room in the place that doesn't offer a spectacular view. Enjoy a 'cabin' atmosphere, yet be in luxury.
