La Germainiere is a superb old farmhouse that has been completely renovated and modernised to create a really lovely holiday home with enormous character.
This beautiful house with its magnificent private heated pool is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday with family and friends. The spacious accommodation can sleep up to 12 and has free wifi, bbq facilities, attractive gardens, patio with lovely views and lots of private parking. There are 6 spacious bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, lounge with magnificent Normandy fireplace; ideal for cooler evenings, flat screen TV, dining room and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The house is set in a peaceful setting, yet close to the excellent market towns of Gavray and Hambye, and the amazing unspoilt coast is only a short drive away. Beaches are quiet all year round, perfect for family and friends of all ages to enjoy.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

Everything we could need and close to most of the major attractions such as Mont Still Michel, Bayeux and the beaches. A truly lovely Normandy holiday with a wonderful pool and garden for the kids. Highly recommend Champereus Zoo too.

Spacious and comfortable

My family really enjoyed our time here. There is a lot of space which is a bonus for a large family group. The kids (and adults) particularly loved the pool which was deliciously warm - even when the weather wasn't. The table tennis table was in constant use. There is a homely and friendly atmosphere about the house and the location is brilliant for the many visits we made around Normandy.

Location is amazing and perfect to head to Granville and Mont St Michel. Lots of little villages around also to explore. So close to the beach by car. House size is fantastic and pool is such a fantastic added benefit to use. House could do with better fans for sleeping on hot nights in every room. Kitchen is so well equipped. We played games out the cupboard and kids played tabletennis badminton and used the bikes. We were family of 9 so house size was perfect

Magnifique piscine chauffée à 28 degrés. Maison idéale pour se retrouver entre amis. Accueil et consignes données par une tres charmante dame qui s occupe de la maison. Visite du Mont Saint Michel à 1 heure de route, visite du musée Dior de Granville à 30 minutes, visite d un producteur de Calvados, Fouchard, très sympathique, rdv à prendre. Nous avons pu bénéficier d un superbe temps, idéal pour profiter pleinement de la piscine. Maison de vacances fonctionnelle.

Week-end au top à la campagne

Nous avons séjourné dans cette charmante maison pour le réveillon avec des amis et des enfants. Tout correspond au descriptif fait par la propriétaire Sue. Elle est d'ailleurs très réactive ! Je conseille vraiment cette maison pour un séjour au calme à la campagne.

Perfect house for a family holiday!

La Germainiere House is lovely. Off the beaten track but in easy reach of plenty of interesting things. We were four generations travelling together but the house catered for us all. Grampa loved making us a cozy log fire when it got chilly. The children loved the space to play and run around. The pool area is amazing and the ping pong table was a lovely bonus. Even the weather was good for an autumn break, so we got to see and do lots of things in the area. Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful Normandie farmhouse

The beautiful farmhouse has all amenities you could possibly wish for. The house was immaculately clean, homely and very relaxing. The gardens were lovely and the pool was just perfect to cool down in the summer sun. The area is so convenient for exploring the beachside villages or local historical sires. Very enjoyable holiday, ideal for relaxing and unwinding. Would highly recommend and hope to return.

Avons passé 4 jours dans cette maison très agréable et chaleureuse. Salon très agréable et convivial, chambres et sanitaires très bien. N'avons pas pu tester la piscine puisque nous étions en décembre. Seul bémol, il faut être anglais car la majorité des indications est dans cette langue, ce qui est dommage lorsqu'on loue une maison en France.

mais vous ne nous avez pas informé que la TV était uniquement en anglais, wi-fi très faible et communication presque impossible (difficile pour des enfants entre 27 et 37 ans) et manque bouilloire électrique. La maison est agréable, les parties communes (cuisine, salle à manger, salon) sont vastes pour loger 12 personnes. Nous avons à cette époque beaucoup apprécié et utilisé la cheminée.

Ideal for a group visit.

9 of us stayed at La Germaniere and were very impressed with the accommodation. The facilities were ideal for a group and the house is lovely - a mix of traditional and modern. The description on the website is absolutely accurate and everything was provided as we were told. We would certainly recommend the accommodation to others.

Stunning property with plenty of amenities.

Very impressive frontage on arrival. Completely isolated apart from one other property nearby. The facilities were ideal for our party which comprised four young children, oldest five years old, and four adult couples. The best facility was the heated pool which was a sun trap. It was an ideal size and depth for for both adult swimming and children playing. Being surrounded by a childproof fence was another big plus. The only criticism was some of the beds were a bit lumpy and the bathrooms were shared. We did have one wet day but between table tennis, English tv, dvds, board games etc we kept adequately amused. The restaurants and sights that were recommended in by the owners totally exceeded expectations. We were unanimous in the opinion that we would return to such a beautiful house in a such a lovely setting!

We are farmers in the beautiful Dorset countryside in Southern England. We have three children and five grandchildren. We love France and in particular Normandy. It is so easy to get to Cherbourg from Poole and it is less then a 90 minute drive to the house. We therefore go for lots of short holidays and love it there.

Why they chose this property

We have owned this holiday house since 1997 and still love its tranquil rural setting. Set amongst its own fields at the end of a ½ mile private drive, it is the most lovely relaxing holiday retreat. Built some 300 years ago, this holiday cottage has enormous character with old beams, massive stone walls and a huge Normandy fireplace. The South facing terrace catches the sun all day and is the ideal spot to enjoy an evening drink listening to the cicadas.

The magnificent 10m x 5m private heated swimming pool is situated in a peaceful setting and provides the perfect place to relax in the sun. There are lovely views over the wooded valley below. And if you fancy a change of scenery, it is a pretty ten minute walk from our holiday villa to the village of Grimesnil, where you will find an excellent bar/restaurant.

Spread over three floors, our French gite is full of period character and well-equipped for holidays with up to 12 people: we have 2 double bedrooms, including a master en suite, and 4 twin rooms that are perfect for children or groups of friends. With a huge lawn, our own pear trees and meadows all around, our holiday home is the perfect place to enjoy nature in Normandy.

We are surrounded by amazing restaurants including brilliant seafood restaurants for which the area is renowned.
