5th floor condo with spectacular Ocean views!

This fifth floor Hilton Head condo rental has everything you need for an amazing vacation. The Kitchen is spacious and open to the rest of the condo while having all stainless steel appliances and coming fully equipped with everything your family chef may need.

The Dining area is just off the Kitchen and has seating for six, with the Kitchen bar providing additional seating for up to four. The Living Room has been recently updated with all-new furniture and window treatments and features a 75-inch Smart TV, slider to your private balcony and large windows allowing you to fully enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the Living Room, new carpet has been laid throughout the entire condo.

The Primary Bedroom has a King bed with new bedding, flat screen TV and an en-suite Primary Bathroom. The Primary Bathroom features a large double sink vanity, deep walk-in closet, large sunken garden tub and separate walk-in shower. The Guest Bedroom, on the other side of the condo, has two Twin beds, new bedding, flat screen TV, slider to the balcony and its own en-suite Guest Bathroom as well. The Guest Bathroom consists of a tiled tub and shower combination.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean from your private balcony with table and chairs for oceanfront private dining. The Hampton Place private community complex consists of one large pool, one lap pool, a private gym and various areas to suntan and tables to bring your picnic. You'll be down the elevator and out to the ocean in just a few minutes!

Complex pool hours are subject to change at any time.

**Please note that the entire complex (North and South Buildings) will be undergoing a large-scale construction project from approximately 10/15/2025-4/30/2026, depending on and unforeseen circumstances that may arise. This will include painting of hallways, corridors, and optional replacement of oceanside windows and doors. There will be machinery and workers on site which can cause periods of brief noise. All amenities will remain open and operational during this time. Feel free to reach out to our team with any additional questions.

This time was no exception. The staff at check-in was friendly and provided me with everything I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed my rounds of golf at the Fazio course and especially George in the pro shop who was so friendly.Palmetto Dunes is my favorite vacation place and I highly recommend it as a vacation destination.

Perfect Getaway

Decent Condo in Progress

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a nice condo with some minor issues. It has an amazing view, it has a really nice remodeled master bath, and it is very spacious. Some drawbacks are the toilets flushed very slowly and had to be plunged - something I just love doing on vacation. There are no black-out blinds so it gets very hot and bright at sunrise and not everyone wants to rise and shine on vacation. Also, the dryer sounds like a looped sound bite from a horror movie when the Killer jumps out and attacks. Overall, just a little underwhelming for the price and other units we've stayed at in Palmetto Dunes.

Could not ask for more in terms of what is expected of vacationing at Palmetto Dunes. I received a cordial welcome upon arrival and promptly gained access to the condo.I do not dine out that often but had to eat at my two favorites - Guiseppe’s Pizza and Wayback Burgers. I enjoy golfing while there and my favorite course is the George Fazio course. It has a variety of holes both accommodating and challenging plus, to me, has a friendly atmosphere which I attribute to the employees. They are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. I want to especially commend Tim and George. They are both excellent representatives of what you would hope for at a resort such as Palmetto Dunes.I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas lights throughout the complex and Shelter Cove.

During our stay we noticed that our dryer wasn’t working. I emailed the office, and someone was out to fix it in less than 2 hours. It was really fast! Our rooms were well maintained, however we were disappointed with the window coverings in both bedrooms. There were very large gaps in the window coverings which made us uncomfortable getting dressed in the room and allowed a lot of light in. Also the master shower was very uncomfortable. The ‘rain shower head’ either needs to be replaced or fixed. The water felt extremely sharp coming out of the fixture. We loved the location to the beach and many other activities around the area. Our favorite places to eat were The French Bakery, Kilman’s ice cream, and The Dunes House. Overall our stay was top notch! We definitely want to visit again. If our two concerns were to be fixed, then we would stay in the same rental.

We all had to use the other shower. The furniture was also very “dated”For the price paid, I expected much better accommodations in the unit we rented. The rooms the other couples rented were much nicer with newer furnishings. The resort was beautiful, but I was disappointed with the rental unit based on the price paid. This unit was provided by the resort after the owner of our original rental until backed out. I would have expected better with a replacement unit.

Great location but needs updates and repairs

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: On the plus side, the location is excellent with easy access to the beach, tennis and pickle ball. The unit includes a really nice assortment of books. On the negative side, upon check in, we were given incorrect access codes for the unit, gym and pool access. Eventually we opened the Hospitality app which listed the correct access codes. The unit itself needs updating. The washer is rusted on the inside and the dryer makes a very loud screeching sound while in use. The bedspread smelled bad and all the soft furnishings, fake plants and Knick knacks really should be replaced with updated items. They look like they’ve been there since the 1990s. The “hard” furniture, i.,e. dining room table, chairs, sofa, armoire, beds, are fine, if a bit dated. I’m being generous to recommend this place because it really does need some attention and repairs.

Great Vacation at Palmeto Dunes - 5506 Hampton Place South

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this property! It was very clean and well-maintained. Everything we needed was available, kitchen appliances, dishes, pots and pans, washer and dryer. There are no beach chairs available so you have to bring your own or rent. A little inconvenient, particularly for those flying in. We were able to pick up a few beach chairs at the nearby Walmart for a reasonable price. The living space was very clean, nicely furnished and decorated, comfortable and bright with awesome views of the ocean and the pool. Watching the sunrise is a must! It's absolutely stunning! We particularly enjoyed the Catamaran trip from the Marina across the highway from Palmetto Dunes. It was a nice tour of the island and we saw dolphins very close up which was so cool and exciting. Our favorite restaurant was Alexander's in Palmetto Dunes. You do have to make reservations in advance. We got to the island on Sunday and we could not get reservations until the following Friday for dinner. I would recommend booking reservations prior to arriving on the island. The beach at this location does not get super crowded as the beach close to Coligny. Our family had a wonderful relaxing vacation at this location and we would highly recommend it! Thank you for a terrific time on Hilton Head Island!

Great ocean view with no sleep

Reviewer Comments: We had older guest stay with us so we gave them the master bedroom with the king bed only to discover we were stuck with two single beds with mattresses that were broken. We slept very little during the week and did most in the lounge chairs around the pool. When we arrived the air condition was clogged up and had to wait for the repair man later to fix it. The temp was 85 degrees when we arrived on a 90 degree day. The toilet chain on the guest bathroom toilet was hung and ran for hours after flushing. A repair man fixed it two days later. This was our 20th straight summer at Hilton Head and maybe our last at this place.

Great get away

My only criticism was the paltry supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. They called this a "starter". Ok, but I just paid almost $9000 for the two weeks and the management felt it necessary to save money on toilet paper. Bad PR, but the condo was beautiful and the resort amazing.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 3rd time renting an ocean front condo in Palmetto Dunes. Though for the most part we enjoyed our stay, there were 3 issues with this property: The beds in both the master and 2nd bedroom were uncomfortable, in poor condition and should be replaced. The shower water and sink water in the master bedroom had a foul, sulfur odor. The patio table located on the deck was rusty and could not be used without rusty pieces of metal falling on your clothes. While we will definitely return to Palmetto Dunes, we would not return to 5506 Hampton Place South considering these current conditions.
