About Vicky Linker
My husband Gary and I have two children and built this cottage four years ago so I could pursue my love of sculpture. I use one room in the cottage for my work leaving the remaining 650 square feet to share with guests. Our family and friends have enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the cottage and now we are offering it to the public on a limited basis. I do not work in my studio when we have guests ensuring that you will have complete privacy during your stay with us. The cottage is a stand alone building on our beautiful one acre property.
Vicky Linker purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Vicky Linker chose Hedgerow
Montecito has many areas of quiet tranquility and beauty. Gary and I chose this property to raise our family. We welcome you to enjoy the gardens, lawns, fruit trees and recreational facilities.
What makes this Cottage unique
The Cottage has several very endearing amenities including a beautiful sink that we purchased in Puerta Vallerta, handpainted tile in the kitchen, bathroom and fireplace, hardwood flooring, special lighting fixtures, as well as views of the mountains, backyard gardens, lawn and fruit trees.

Charming, Quiet, and Comfortable
Property is as described-very charming and serene. Everything you need is there for you. Location in Montecito is great- minutes to the beach, trails and restaurants (in Montecito and Santa Barbara). Hosts are lovely.
Excellent hosts, very clean accommodations, and exactly as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Close to everything Santa Barbara has to offer, and super quiet. Thank you!
Comfortable little cottage just outside Santa Barbara. Great location, easy access to freeway. Very quiet. It was the perfect getaway. Hope to be able to come back soon.
The unit was in VERY close proximity to main house. You could see into their windows & vice versa.
Even worse was lumpy squeaky bed. Nice linens however. Interior of unit had entire section closed off as art studio.
Not happy with single ply TP or no kleenex anywhere or half used costco size toilities like Suave.
Ultra long shower curtain was tripping hazard. Also disappointed shower had no hand held fixture. Amazing pictures do not reflect lack of privacy or lack of luxury amenities associated with a Montecito property.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your experience at our cottage. While we are open to our guests’ feedback, we want you to know that you are the first one to voice these concerns. While we take all of them seriously, a few points need clarification.
1. Regarding privacy, our house is approximately 100 feet from the cottage and a large bougainvillea bush separates us making it very difficult to see into each others’ space. Our past guests have told us that the quiet and privacy was one of the things they love about the cottage.
2. There is a small room that is an artist studio that we keep locked. Per our description, the remaining 700 sq. feet includes the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
3. A comfortable bed is a top priority of ours and reading your description of it as “lumpy” was very surprising. I have asked our current guests and they like previous guest are happy with our accommodations. We regret that we were not able to meet yours.
4. As per our amenities, the only one we buy from Costco is their Kirkland toilet paper. If you Google it, you will see that it is 2-ply, not singly ply. There should have been a box of tissue in the bedroom. If there wasn’t one, that was our oversight.
Again, thank you for your comments. We recognize that different people have various standards and yours may vary from those of other guests. However, all of our guests comments help us stay on top of making our facility a positive one for our guests.
The casita was very clean and nicely furnished and comfortable. The vegetation surrounding the house was beautiful.
A piece of Paradise
I can not say enough good things about this property and the hosts (Vicky and Gary). My wife and I have stayed at numerous properties all over Southern California, but this is quite possibly the best. The location is beautiful, we felt a million miles away from the chaos of our work-life, and the cottage itself was perfectly designed and decorated. Also, the property was a quick drive into Santa Barbra for dinning and shopping. My wife and I had wonderful weekend and would love to come back. You can not go wrong with this property.
Located in beautiful Montecito you are moments away from tourist attractions, beaches or mountain hikes. Within one mile of the cottage you can find a variety of fine restaurants and high end shopping. Nearby Santa Barbara has more exciting visitor destinations, shopping areas, leisurely walking or hiking trails and restaurants. Our wharf and waterfront provide a lovely panoramic view of the city. You also have easy access to the Santa Ynez wineries. We are ninety miles from Los Angeles, 145 miles from Hearst Castle and 300 miles from the Bay Area.
