Welcome to Barn Haven—a beautifully renovated “Farm House” style barndominium, completed in Spring 2022. This unique, luxury retreat blends rustic charm with modern comfort and is perfect for couples, families, and horse lovers alike.

Featuring French country décor, a state-of-the-art kitchen, high-speed internet, and a serene master suite with a walk-in shower, Barn Haven offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. Unwind on the covered porch, soak in the private hot tub, or enjoy an outdoor shower after a trail ride.

This 2-bedroom, 2-bath home includes a cozy sitting area ideal for reading or remote work. The open-concept kitchen, dining, and living spaces are perfect for gathering after a day of exploring Leatherwood’s many trails—just steps from your door.

The connected 2-stall barn offers easy access from the mudroom or exterior barn doors and is fully equipped with tack space, hay racks, mucking tools, and parking for larger rigs. Barn Haven is a true equestrian escape in a prime Leatherwood location.

You must see this home to appreciate the beauty! We assure you, you will be back time and again!

Guests traveling with trailers or other long vehicles should be aware that the roads inside Leatherwood are narrow, steep, mountain roads that are not conducive to vehicles or trailers longer than a two horse bumper pull trailer or a gooseneck trailer less than 20 feet long. Leatherwood is not responsible for any resulting damage.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

The property was the perfect escape for our anniversary. We enjoyed being hidden away in the mountains and all of the fall foliage. The resort had plenty to do for the weekend but close enough to Blowing Rock and Boone to go see other sights.

Easy to get the horse trail in and turned around. So convenient having the horses so close. The house is perfect for 2 people but could accommodate 4 people. Loved the stalls being connected to the house for early morning feedings. Also loved the paddock option for the horses. It has everything you need for cooking. Hot tub is awesome. Thanks!

Aesthetic & Overall Haven

As a former sorority girl, I love a good theme... if done right. And the horse theme of Barn Haven was beautifully executed. Every little detail was carefully considered in crafting the beauty that is the rustic Barn Haven: the coffee table, salt/pepper organizer, lamp shades, blankets and pillows, mirrors, even the slightly rusted vents. We enjoyed the perks of Satellite TV, smart TV, and hot tub at night under the string lights. There's nothing more we could've possibly asked for. The kitchen was the most-inclusive yet of any rental I've stayed at; any pot or pan you could need, it's there! With COVID, the check-in process was contactless. Our envelope did not contain the key for access, but a quick call to the After Hours number and five minutes later, we were promptly delivered the key to jumpstart our vacation. Location: a mere 20 miles separates you from Boone/Blowing Rock. What we didn't account for was the fact that these were mountain roads we'd be driving on, taking a good hour to get somewhere. With a little planning ahead for our activities/meals, it was no biggie and actually worked to our advantage. We loved how remote we were. Only once did we run into any touch of civilization while on the Resort property. For the two of us and two fur babies, this was the perfect amount of space. With another couple, I might see how it could be cramped, but could accommodate a third easily.

Such a quiet place, we definitely enjoyed our weekend getaway. The property is perfect! Only issue we had was the shower is tiny but that legitimately didn't affect our stay at all. We loved our time here and will be back again!

We had a great stay here! The cabin was cute and very clean and my young daughter thought it was so neat that it had a stable attached to the back side. The surrounding community is beautiful and definitely offers quiet and seclusion. The hot tub was a nice bonus!
