Why Owner chose Lake Linden
This home is one of only 3 houses on the whole Little Rice Lake. It is as private as any other place on the two lake chain. It comes with a nice beach house only feet from the shore. Deer and wild turkeys are seen on the property almost daily. It is close to towns and other things to do in the Keweenaw. History of the old mining days is everywhere. You can take tours into several mines. You can visit old ghost towns. You can pick blueberries in the yard or at a pick your own farm down the road. Wild berries of all kinds are available on plenty of public ground. Fish from the dock or canoe, kayak, boat or shore. Hunting for many birds and animals is only a short walk or ride away from the house. This is not located within a town. The closest town is 7 miles away. Your hosts are very familiar with the entire area and are very helpful in helping you plan your vacation. Many have said this was the best vacation that they have ever had. We hope you can say that one day soon. Come vacation at our home.

Jimmy's property is exactly as promised. Considering I would have been paying$200/night at the Houghton Holiday Inn, this place is a steal for what you get. Jimmy leaves a fresh loaf of homemade bread for you which is a nice personal touch. Thanks Jimmy!
Overpriced but acceptable fishing/snowmobile cottage
My husband and I rented this property and were surprised it was more run down than portrayed in photos. It has a very musty/moldy smell, ants were bad in the kitchen area, and it isn't maintained well inside or out. The water is well water but I suspect is from the lake; raunchiest water I have ever smelled. The cottage is not on the lake but is (and my husband counted) 240 steps to the water, through a weedy trail in a wooded area. You cannot see the water from the cottage; the view from living room is an old Airstream trailer and dog kennel. Watch out for neighbor dogs that are not tied up; one is friendly but the other is very aggressive and barks non-stop. Not the best atmosphere for fishing. Overall, this cottage would be great for a group of guys on a fishing trip, who aren't bothered by the smell, ants, and stinky water. But the cost is twice what we feel it should have been.
The mosquitoes were just starting to hatch so the bugs were horrible!!! I wish it were closer to the lake but very clean and close to wherever you want to visit. The owners were very nice and the homemade bread he left was fabulous.
Sorry for the bugs, but we have had a record year for snow and rain and the bugs love it. We also lost most of the bat population to white nose syndrome, who helped control the mosquito
Population. But we have no wood ticks. Yippie. Jimmy
Very spacious with everything we needed. Delicious home made bread was a warm welcome.
We rented the property for a weekend of fall color excursions. The house was very cozy, clean and nicely-appointed. Plenty of space for the four of us with lots to spare! It was also very near Rice Lake and centrally-located for trips throughout the Keweenaw. We would definitely consider renting again!
The property was nice.
We enjoyed the cabin. It was clean and had plenty of room for the five of us. The two bathrooms were a must for us. The canoes and kayaks were nice to use on the lake. Lake Superior beaches were very close by.
This property is located within 0 - 50 miles to the outdoor enthusiasts paradise! Within short distance you will find cross country and downhill skiing at Swedetown Ski Trails, Mount Bohemia, Mont Ripley and many more! Many miles of hiking trails are located all over the Keweenaw which provide beautiful views year-round. Perhaps you're feeling daring and would like to try out the internationally known and highly ranked mountain bikes trails that can be found in Copper Harbor and stop by one of many unique restaurants and bars along the way. If you feel like relaxing and catching dinner for the evening, you have your option of trout, walleye, perch, salmon and so much more by being located near many inland lakes and Lake Superior (the marina and dock are located within 3 miles). You can also access hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails within a few miles of the property!
