A few of my favorite activities include taking a ride on the road to Hana, whale watching from the condos lanai and snorkeling at Black Rock in Kaanapali.

The road to Hana is quite an adventure. Wear your swimsuit, start early (i leave at 7 am) and pack a cooler since you will be out all day. There is a CD I have left for guests to borrow which will help guide you to many beautiful waterfalls and natural pools. The best part of the trip is a swim at beautiful Hamoa beach, a little ways beyond Hana. Try to complete your journey before sunset since the road is very narrow and will be difficult to navigate at night.

If you have come to Maui from December through April, you will most likely see mother and baby whales breaching. I enjoy sitting on the lanai with binoculars to get a closer look at these amazing creatures. But don't worry, you do not have to sit and wait to see a whale, you will surely see many if you peer out the window on the drive to and from the condo.

Snorkeling is a must on Maui. Go to Snorkel Bobs or any other dive shop and rent snorkel gear by the week (pretty cheap). Keep your gear in the car since you never know when you will want to snorkel. I have also left a copy of Maui Revealed in the condo which directs you to some of Maui's best snorkel spots. Black Rock is a good place to snorkel at the end of Kaanapali beach ( a short walk from Whalers Village) and has beautiful fish, coral, turtles and even baby octupus. This area can become crowded with tourists by the afternoon so go early. There is a conservation a short drive up the road, Honolua Bay, which has amazing fish and coral as well. Or if you want to stay close to the condo, you can snorkel off the beach a few steps away and swim with a turtle or two who feed off the rocks right below the lanai.
