We came to Vermont for the Fall foliage and hiking. The home at Hawk's Landing was perfectly located for this and exceeded my expectations. I would not hesitate to rent this property again.

This is the second year we have spent September in the Green Mountains at Hawk Landing. We chose the property because it is pet/cat friendly. The house is spacious and fully furnished with a second floor deck with railings that permits our cats to go outside without being leashed. As long as your driver can negotiate narrow steep gravel roads you will love the location. We play golf throughout Vermont and this property is centrally located making it easy to get to any golf course in a reasonable amount of time. Pittsfield is a quaint little town but close enough to Killington Resort and Rutland to provide a great variety of dining experiences. Vermont breakfasts cannot be beat. We love Vermont in the fall with the changing weather, changing leaf colors and mountain vistas and this property allows us to enjoy it all.
We had a wonderful family Labor Day weekend in Pittsfield. We were new to the area but it was conveniently located for the local trips we did to explore around. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. You can tell the family has a lot of fond memories of their travels, and we enjoyed this aspect of the home. Thank you

Fabulous family getaway
My family (husband, 2 young boys and teenage daughter) stayed for 4 days at this spectacular home in the midst of the forest. We thouroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The house was beautiful, large, comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. We particularly enjoyed grilling on the patio that was way up in the tree canopy. Great to have the pond out back. Special bonus for my boys was the large hammock in the yard. The location was also ideal, allowing for us to take daily hikes in the green mountains to great lookouts and waterfalls, as well as day trips to lovely nearby towns. Tubing down the river was another highlight. It was really the perfect getaway spot for my family and we highly recommend it to others.

Beautiful Escape Among The Trees
I stayed at Hawk Landing for 5 days for some much needed R&R with my family. It is in a great, quiet location, just outside of a typical Vermont small town. Excellent access to the mountains (3 different hikes to waterfalls within about 30 minute drive) and to the White River. The house is nice and airy with plenty of room for the family along with a fantastic deck porch that is great for meals and for hanging out talking and reading. There are trees everywhere and even a small brook flowing through the property! The kitchen was super clean with great cooking supplies, and the owners left coffee, tea, and lots of spices!
Be sure to go tubing on the White River, or to have some maple flavored ice cream in town!

Excellent Summer Reunion
My husband and I met up with old friends at this beautiful location. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable and there was every kind of kitchen amenity for cooking summer pies and braised meats. The huge living room window looked out over the forest of trees - one could sit and relax at the dining table, taking in the view or sit outside on the adjacent deck. We had a large crowd and there was plenty of parking and space for everyone. Just a few minutes walk away was a lovely little wild pond where the kids in the group could amuse themselves chasing tadpoles and jumping off the deck into the fresh water.
Nearby is the charming little town of Killington where we found wonderful homemade breads, jams and, of course, plenty of Vermont syrup. There was also an wonderful golf course nearby that some of our party definitely took advantage of while others had a delightful time tubing down the river. This was a wonderful, relaxing retreat with plenty to explore and anyone we met couldn't have been more friendly. It was a perfect reunion and everyone had such a great time.

Great Outdoors Reunion Fun!
Perfect cottage in the woods! Great setting! Skiing and hiking are short drives away. It was wonderful to watch our kids playing in the backyard woods together, awesome stargazing at night, a serene pond a walk away, a general store right down the street, great fireplace inside to chat for hours with great windows to enjoy the view!! A kitchen to make delicious homemade meals together. A deck to enjoy a warm cup of tea or coffee with the sounds of nature in the morning or to relax with beers and cocktails catching up with friends in the afternoon and night. So much fun! Would recommend this location to anyone looking to make great memories with loved ones.

Family Reunion-skiing, hiking, fun!
My family and friends gathered here at this large beautiful home for Easter. The house is spacious and has everything you could need. Lots of sunlight through huge windows! The master bedroom is very large. The yard is gorgeous with a babbling brook and little waterfalls running through it. The yard was also large enough for the kids to play football. A short walk away is a lovely pond for swimming or fishing. A 1/4 mile away is a very 'Vermont' general store and another market across the street. There are several farms nearby as well. We drove five minutes away to an awesome hike that took us to amazing views. 10 minutes away and we were spring skiing, shopping and fine dining! We can't wait to go back!

Great Vermont Home
Property was exactly has photoed, very quiet location. The fireplace gave us that extra comfort feeling, and wood was provided. We felt the owners were very generous to allow us to bring our four legged furry family member with us on vacation, which relieved a lot of stress. Property was located a little further from Killington, however found it to be an easy drive.

Good Fall Getaway
I stayed here for the month of Oct. This is a nice house. In general a good place to stay for a short while. I did ultimately have a good experience, and Melody at Killington Accommodations was very friendly and helpful, I could call if I needed anything. I will focus on a few things I liked about the house but mostly the negatives. It has nice big windows to see the beautiful yard with nice tall trees and surrounding areas. There is some hiking/biking trails nearby which is nice, I did take advantage of those. This is kind of an old house so the windows are a very drafty. The house does have a fireplace which is a nice feature; it's also very necessary. In general this is a cold house. There is no heat circulation throughout the house so the guest rooms remain cold even with the heat turned up (I had a guest for a few nights that couldn't sleep). The heat source is in the basement next to the master bedroom so those places stay fairly warm. . The place was clean and tidy when I arrived. Upon arriving, I noticed a lot of products in the home available for use were half consumed. This includes consumable products in the kitchen and fridge. i.e. salad dressing, salsa, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce etc. also in the bathrooms shampoos, tube of tooth paste etc. . I would feel more appreciated if the products were new/unused. In addition, there were a lot of pictures of people that I didn't know. This is a negative, I felt this personalized, and cluttered the home. There is also some unnecessary religious iconography displayed. The home should remain neutral. It's difficult to figure out the theme of the home. The furniture is absolutely not comfortable at all, you might as well be sitting on wooden benches. These were the negatives not including feeling nickeled and dimed to death with taxes and hidden fees. Just glad I wasn't here in the wintertime

The owners would like to thank you for staying in their home. Thank you for the nice compliments in your review. We all are sorry for the inconveniences you mentioned. The owners wanted to respond directly to your concerns. We know the heating system isn’t user friendly, and we all are looking to get a more updated system this year. We have removed all the perishable food products. however, have decided to leave a stock of basic items and condiments as people do appreciate having those items on hand, especially when arriving late at night.
The house was built in 1967, and the style reflects the families many years spent living abroad. The midcentury modern teak furniture was purchased in Denmark. Drawings of Bedouin women and brass lamps came from the Middle East, mementos from living in Europe for many years. We don’t believe there are any religious pieces on display, however we’ll review all items to be certain. The personal family photos are a reminder to guests renting our properties the homes are owned by families, and they should treat the homes accordingly.
Thank you
