"Bright by the Bayou - Cowboy Pool Yard | Parks"
Conveniently located in gorgeous Bayou St. John, 1.5 miles from the French Quarter, this 3BR / 2BA shotgun house is across the street from a soccer field & park and steps from famous Parkway Po’Boys. Walk or bike a mile along the bayou to City Park or on the Laffite Greenway to the French Quarter. Walking distance to Jazz Fest! Guests will arrive and have access to coffee, sugar and creamer. There are two main bedrooms and a small independent third bedroom with a full bed. Two full bathrooms with shower/baths. The house has original wood floors and plenty of charm. You can watch (or join) people playing bocci ball, softball, and soccer in the park across the street. Guests will also have access to the grassy backyard equipped with a picnic table and string lights. Porch and yard are shared with the owners. As the owner and his family live on the other side, please be keep the noise down after 10pm. No parties please :) There is keyless entry with a code, so check in is super easy. I will be able to help with suggestions and any issues that should arise. I live on the other side of the double house but I'm usually traveling or out and about. When around, I am always happy to share a drink and/or conversation on the front porch or backyard. It is four blocks from the Canal street Streetcar line/Endymion Mardi Gras Parade (the biggest one). Getting to the French Quarter on the streetcar, uber, or bike takes less than 10 minutes. Mid City and Bayou Saint John are so full of fun things to do, you may never want to leave! There are plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance of the house. But if you do want to explore, we are in the center of the city -- between City Park, the French Quarter and Uptown. It's easy to get anywhere from here! Whether you're in town for tourist attractions or festivals, or if you're out to explore the whole city, from the heart of Mid-City you can be there in no time at all. The biggest Mardi Gras parade is less than a half mile away, so the neighborhood will be jumping along with Carnival. The Canal Street streetcar is 4 blocks away. It will take you to the Mississippi River, the French Quarter and the Convention Center. The amazing City Park is a 10 minute walk along the beautiful Bayou Saint John. At City Park you've got the sculpture garden, botanical gardens, and Museum of Art. **Pool**
We're happy to offer the cowboy pool—perfect for cooling off in the New Orleans heat! To help keep it clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these simple rules:
Use at your own risk—no lifeguard on duty.
Children under 15 must be supervised at all times.
Always put the cover back on when you're done using the pool.
The chlorine float must stay in the pool with the grate closed—this keeps the water clean. → If the float is removed or the cover left off, a guest charge may apply for cleaning.
The filter runs automatically at night. It’s normal for it to be quiet during the day.
A net is provided for you to skim any leaves or debris—thank you!
Please keep the yard gate closed and locked at all times.
Let us know right away if you notice anything unusual (like damage or low water level).
Thanks for helping us keep the pool clean and safe—and enjoy your swim!

As advertised! It’s a great little place with three comfortable beds. Walking distance to some great locations for a good beer or glass of wine. A short car trip to downtown New Orleans. It’s a a great deal!
We came to New Orleans for a soccer camp. The house was conveniently located for the Soccer camp, taking trips to the Quarter, downtown New Orleans and City Park.
What an amazing stay!!! My boys and I immediately felt at home when we walked in the door. There was space for all of us, a pool for my youngest (he loved it); we felt comfortable and safe. Easy street parking right in front everyday, and close to everything we needed. The host was fantastic, frequent check-ins to make sure we were fine. We would definitely book again the next time we visit New Orleans!
Perfect for our visit. Great place for four adults in town for a wedding. Central location and easy to get around the entire city. The owner was great to deal with and communication was excellent. Highly recommended and would stay againz

Thank you for the review, George! It was a joy hosting your group!
The home was comfortable, clean, and located conveniently located a few minutes drive from French Quarter, campus and my favorite gas station po’boy spot on Broad! The neighbors are friendly, and it is quiet on the block at night.
We stayed here for Bayou Boogaloo, the Mid-City annual music fest (check it out, if you haven’t). Location was perfect, walking distance to festival, trolley, grocery stores, restaurants, you name it. And it’s quiet!! Just enough off the main drag to be just perfect. I’d definitely stay here again! And Ben, the host, was very communicative.
If you are looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay, book this one! It had comfortable beds and everything we needed. It’s close to City Park, and a great location. There is a bakery and restaurant (Parkway) within a block. There is a playground and field across the street. We came to visit family and it was perfect for us!
This was our first time in NOLA and for 4 tired texans who had just driven 8 hours this place was great. It has enough space for all of us and our dog. The house was very clean and the beds were incredibly comfy. Great location a short 15 min drive from the convention center,10 min from walmart, and 10 minutes from the french quarter. The comunication with our host ben was also amazing he reached out before, throughout, and after to make sure all of our needs were met.
I’ve been to New Orleans a handful of times and this was upmost the best stay I’ve had.Ben was super helpful and clear with instructions. We had a problem with the wifi (probably due to thunderstorms) and Ben was immediately on top of it and helped resolved the issue. We traveled with a 6 year old so of course no wifi meant no iPad or TV streaming but Ben saved the day. The location was close to many coffee shops which I enjoyed. Beds were comfy and couch was relaxing. Kitchen was stocked with pots and pans so it was easy for us to cook meals.
Stayed in a space that felt like a home away from home A shared backyard, mini pool, and the perfect-size bedroom for us. We loved the little touches—hampers, fresh towels, toilet paper delivery, and yes… coffee (major win )! Everything looked just like the photos, and the host was super responsive There were security cameras for added peace of mind, and although we had a brief internet issue, it was resolved quickly. Staying in this cozy shotgun house was lovely—it felt like home. We had space to sit on the front porch and enjoy the breeze while watching the neighborhood flow. Quiet residential area and only 8 minutes from where we needed to be.#RealTravelMoments #ThankYouBen
If you are looking to stay in a residential neighborhood of New Orleans and experience every day life away from the tourists, this is the place to be. Located just steps away from St. John Bayou, the Lafitte Greenway, the Canal St. Streetcar, and the famous Parkway Bakery, it is a great place to land. This would also be a great place to stay for Jazz Fest, about a mile away. The host was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. The house was very clean, bright, and comfortable. Especially the beds! Note about bedrooms. Because it is a shotgun style house, there is one bedroom that you have to walk through to get to the back bedroom. The back bedroom has its own bathroom, so that is a plus. We would book again.
Wonderful house in a good location and excellent communication throughout
We really loved our stay in Ben's house whilst in New Orleans. It was the last stop on a 2 week road trip so we were ready and grateful for all the home comforts available to us.The master bed was particularly comfortable! The house was clean and had everything you could need to be at home away from home.Ben was an excellent host and communicated quickly and effectively throughout even allowing us to drop off some food and bags before our official check in so it wasn't wasted and we could explore the city. The area has some nice restaurants and bars etc nearby too and we were told by the locals we had picked the area well.My only VERY TINY negative about the location is that, as British tourists, we are used to walking everywhere and we don't tend to drive out to bars if we intend on drinking and the Uber's into the city were pretty expensive considering it was an 8 minute journey. The walk into the city is fine though and we did that one way each day. That isn't a relfection of Ben or the property but something to be mindful of if you intend on relying on Uber's.i also left behind osmething reather sentimental and Ben and his team were very quick to find it and post it back to me. Would highly reccommend
