In all of our years of doing short term rentals, we’ve never had a bad experience like this. But since this guest decided to leave us a poor review, even though we always try to take great care of our guests, and almost always receive 5 star reviews and repeat guests, we have no choice but to respond to set the record straight. We were contacted the day of check in by this guest and worked quickly to accommodate all of her requests, and make sure everything was ready for an early check in. On the day of checkout and 15 minutes after the posted check out time, she let us know she was almost ready to leave, but needed to go wake up her children. When our Housekeeping arrived a little while later, they contacted us to say it looked like a tornado had gone through our condo. We then let her know, in private, we really didn’t appreciate the chaos she left behind. The sleeper sofa was badly damaged requiring repair, the oven knobs were all removed, our collection of DVD’s and holiday decorations were moved and not put back, there was blood and stains on the comforter, wet towels and matts were left on soaked bathroom floors, crunbs everywhere, the trash was not taken out, and there was a dirty diaper tossed out on the back patio. We’ve already notified VRBO, to let them know about this guest, and to recommend against, and help protect other homeowners, from taking the risk of hosting this guest in the future. We would give her a “zero” for a rating.
