The house, its contents and garden are all beautiful. The artworks placed around the house make it feel like a gallery and the setting, overlooking the sea about 10-15 mins drive away and the mountains, make for a very relaxing stay. It’s possible to take walks from the house though I would say a car is definitely needed to get around. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather the week we stayed - it was cool, wet and windy - so did not use the pool or hot tub at all but I’m sure they are wonderful when the sun shines. Communications with the host were excellent as were all the house facilities. I would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Feliz to anyone wishing to visit that area of La Palma.

Beautiful Breña Alta

Our family of four had the most wonderful stay at Casa Feliz. The casa is spacious and very well appointed. We even got a delightful welcome basket upon arrival. The pool is and outdoor space are a dream. John is the perfect host - very responsive and accommodating. We had the best time exploring La Palma and are sad to have to leave! We would absolutely stay again.

Absolutely amazing stay! - March 2024

What a totally amazing place! Casa Feliz is a very special home, filled with warmth and soul , the photos although lovely do not do it justice , from the moment you walk in , it is a feast for your eyes. The grounds seem to go on forever with beautifully placed plants and flowers , sea views,mountain views , a fantastic heated pool and hot tub , what’s not to love! The interior furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen contained everything you could possibly wish for and more!! The villa has stolen a huge piece of our hearts and we will most definitely be returning , thank you Marie and John for sharing your home

A top house

The house is perfect. The facilities are complete and the garden is magnificent. Nothing is missing. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are great. Well equipped property with beautiful garden

We spend a very good time with our family in this beautiful property. Morning hours in the beautiful and colourful garden, sea sight included, were amazing. The property was well equipped and there was enough space even for our teenagers to retreat. The big pool was very well heated, so that we could use it even when the weather was cloudy as sometimes typical for the east part of the island. Our hosts were very kind and responsive. All in all we spent a very relaxing time at John’s and Marie’s property. The only pity was that the Jacuzzi wasn’t probably working and due to bank holidays over Easter there was no chance to get it fixed during our stay. But since we spent most time on exploring the islands, that wasn’t much of a downside at all. In a nutshell, absolute recommendation and we surely will come back.

A special villa

This is an exceptional property - it is extensively ornamented with very special ceramics which I believe have been made by Marie, probably on the premises. It feels like an art gallery! The villa has everything you need - it is really a home, rather than just a 'holiday let'. The pool, barbecue, and hot tub are notable features. The setting is quite stunning with views from the sea to the mountains. The garden is beautiful too - wonderfully landscaped and planted, and popular with the local birds. John and Marie are exceptionally helpful and attentive hosts. The island of LaPalma is quiet, quite unlike some of the busier, more touristic islands in the Canaries. The landscape is beautiful and the walking enjoyable but quite energetic as most of the extensive, well marked footpaths are far from level! When the sky is clear the stargazing is spectacular. We have stayed here before and certainly hope to visit again. Thank you for another great holiday John and Marie

"stunning property "

We have been to lots of villas over the last 10-15 years and i can be honestly say that the pictures do not do the villa justice. You can sit out anytime of day overlooking the sea,terraces and stunning vistas on one side of the villa, or jump in the pool and hot tub on the other side of the villa in privacy. There is lots of different areas for you to sit and relax in. And the inside it is stunning as well with a very large lounge and a sun room, there was everything that you needed, the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils , glasses etc. We were met at the airport by pili who had arranged car hire for us and then took us to the villa,she gave us all the information we needed and said she was on hand anytime if needed. I had asked John if there would be a welcome pack and it was the best one we have ever received. There was 4 adults in our party my self my husband and our 2 sons , you could easily fitted 6 adults comfortably in the villa without falling over each other . With it being February it was chilly in the evening so we set the real fire which also heated the radiators and it was so toasty . The only thing we did notice was that there was no air-con as we do not normally go to the Canaries in the hot summer months i do not know if this would be an issue .

Yes it is true we do not have air-con as Marie designed the home taking into consideration that no bedrooms are south facing and the windows allow for full natural air circulation. We are sorry that you found the swimming pool not as warm as the previous visit, however had you contacted either myself or my agent the matter would have be resolved very quickly as the problem was a trip switch on the electricity panel and was a simple reset. Therefore I am sure you would have enjoyed the warm water created by the heat pump.

Ein Haus der besonderen Art

Im September konnten wir uns 4 Wochen in dem geräumigen voll ausgestatteten Haus Casa Feliz so richtig erholen. Das es eine Arbeitsstätte und Haus einer Keramikkünstlerin war und ist, davon zeugen viele wunderschöne große und kleine handgefertigte Werke. Der große gepflegte Pool begeisterte uns fast ebenso, wie der Garten, eigentlich ein wunderschöner Park mit Bäumen und Pflanzen, wie man sie nicht überall sieht. Insgesamt so richtig zum erholen. Ein wenig abseits vom Trubel doch die Einkaufszentren sind in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen setzen jedoch einen Mietwagen voraus.. Der Eigentümer John berät gerne und hilft bei allen Fragen. Ein Haus für Urlaub, den man braucht, wenn man aus einer Großstadt kommt. Herzlichen Dank an Marie und John, dass wir in eurem Haus wohnen durften. Elke und Norbert

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt im einem tollen Haus.

Wir waren im November für eine Woche zu dritt in der Casa Feliz und hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt. Das Haus und die Küche ist super ausgestattet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Besonders hat uns der Pool und der Whirlpool gefallen. Das Wetter war leider nicht gut und es war kühl. Deshalb fanden wir den Kamin im Wohnzimmer super, hatten ihn oft an und sehr gemütliche Abende im Wohnzimmer. Toller großer Fernseher mit Netflix etc. Die Lage ist gut. Supermärkte in der Nähe. Flughafen und Santa Cruz etwa 15 Autominuten entfernt, Für Gäste, die mehr Sonne mögen, ist die Westseite der Insel besser geeignet. An den Bergen stauen sich die Wolken und es ist sehr bedeckt und nebelig. Alles in allem aber ein schöner Aufenthalt und der Gastgeber John war sehr, sehr hilfreich. Danke und viele Grüße Frank

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Wir haben nach 3 Jahren das zweite Mal einen wunderbaren Urlaub in Casa Feliz verbracht. Das Haus und das Anwesen waren sehr gepflegt und mit vielen schönen Kunstobjekten versehen. Der Pool hatte eine Temperatur zwischen 26 und 28 Grad, und hat sich jeden Mittag selbst gereinigt. Der Whirlpool hatte eine Temperatur von 39 Grad. Uns hat auch bei der Ankunft der Geschenkekorb sehr gefreut. Im Haus war alles vorhanden von WC-Papier, Mülltüten, Gewürze, OL, Zucker, Kaffee, warme Decken etc. Wir haben die 2 Wochen sehr genossen, und können Casa Feliz wärmstens empfehlen. Das zweite Mal in dieser wunderschönen Villa

Diesmal früher dort Anfang September, somit konnten wir jeden Tag den Pool, die Liegestühle und die Grillecke benutzen. Die Vermietung ist unkompliziert und John reagierte schnell, als wir einen Wasserhahnbruch im Badezimmer hatten. Alles in allem wieder mal ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in dieser Villa.

Great villa - with excellent pool and hot tub

One of the best and biggest pools at any villa we've stayed at - a great size to actually swim rather than just dip. Good water temperature, even in February. The hot tub was great too - not new (not all jets working), but good temperature and loads of bubbles - a really nice place to relax in the evening, after hard days' hiking. The villa is very spacious - there were only two of us so we didn't need to use the second and third bedrooms. Minor feedback on a few items that I'm sure John will sort out, but overall it's a great villa and we're very glad we chose to stay there.

A wonderful villa! (stay 26/10/19 - 2/11/19)

This is a truly exceptional villa. We have rented many private villas as over the years and this is the best yet. From our first contact with John up to our departure, everything ran smoothly. We had a very small problem with the electricity (a circuit breaker had tripped for the laundry room power which required a key to access to reset) however John reponded to my message within seconds and the problem was fixed very quickly indeed. The villa is huge and very comfortable, with more than ample space for our family to enjoy the peace and relaxation the location offers. The kitchen was very well equipped with every utensil or kitchen gadget you could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable too and what a pleasure to open the blinds in the morning to see blazing, warm sunshine at the end of October (I live in the UK so this is a novelty for us). Outside, the pool is also huge for a private villa. I estimated it to be 12m / 40 feet but I may be wrong. It was also heated to a perfect temperature for us. The terrace is extensive, wrapping around most of the house and there are wonderful views across the island and out to sea side. The terraced garden is also very extensive with many exotic varities of fruit tree (avocado, mango, persimmon, guavasteen (I had to look that one up as I had no idea what it was - really delicious though) orange, lemon, and many more I most likely missed. It was great experience to climb an avocado tree to pick them fresh. There is a small but well stocked supermarket within walking distance (about 10-15 mins). There is plenty of fresh food available within. Not just cans / frozen. There are a couple of bigger supermarkets within a 10-15 minute drive (Mercadona seems to be brand new and is right next to a large Lidl). Also - and this is important - you can buy really good Rioja or Ribera del Duero for around €5 a bottle, or around €10 for a vintage reserva. Overall, it's a superb villa with too many plus points to list in this review. As with all holidays you really enjoy, it's so hard to leave and this is exactly how we felt last weekend. We will definitely return and I can in all sincerity highly recommend Casa Feliz to anybody looking for a perfect villa experience in La Palma.

Sehr schöne Villa im wunderschönen Garten

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in dieser geräumigen ruhig gelegenen Villa sehr genossen. Der Empfang war unkompliziert und die technischen Geräte haben alle einwandfrei funktioniert. Wir sind jeden Tag im grossen beheizten Pool geschwommen und haben dank dem für Anfang Oktober zum Teil sehr warmen Wetter die Liegestühle sowie den Grillbereich ebenfalls rege benutzt. Somit wird uns Casa Feliz in sehr guten Erinnerung bleiben!

Fantastic villa

We have visited a number of the Canary islands and this villa is the best so far. Spacious, clean and comfortable with a fantastic pool set in lovely grounds. John has been great and responded to messages very quickly. As advised by others we used a hire car from Pili. She was also very helpful and following her to the villa after a late flight made the trip so much easier. We would heartily recommend Casa Feliz - we'll be returning next year!

When my wife, Marie, and I first arrived on La Palma in 1988, we were instantly captivated by its charm and beauty. Initially, we lived in Cancajos, but in 1996, we sought the peace and tranquility of the Brenas. This serene area offered the perfect setting for us to design and build our dream home, tailored to provide a true home-away-from-home experience.
Our villa is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring both comfort and practicality. One of our favorite features is the BBQ table, where guests can gather comfortably and enjoy cooking their own meals. This unique touch, along with many others, makes our villa a special retreat.
