This charming cottage home has been affectionately named “The Birdhouse,” and, you guessed it … the theme of the décor throughout is based on our colorful feathered friends!

I have put my heart and soul into making this cottage a lovely place, and I'm so grateful for all the wonderful 5-star reviews.

If you appreciate the tranquility of a quiet neighborhood full of friendly folks and would like a conveniently-located home all to yourself, we’d love to extend our gracious hospitality.

Charming Cottage

Quaint house in a great location with amenities close by; grocery store, restaurants for take-out, and close to hiking trails. Great yard for the dog.

Lovely to look at but uncomfortable furniture except for the beds. All removable cushions were faded, old, and very thin, making it uncomfortable to sit. Rockers on the porch were good. Kitchen table was minuscule with flat cushions. The outdoor covered patio furniture was a great selling point but we couldn’t sit but a few minutes as the cushions were old and flat. It was a disappointment overall.

Ample lot, nicely landscaped with outdoor space. Interior decor clean and small cozy. Floors squeak in living room, but part of the vintage charm…we were there in winter, and stayed warm. Couldn’t necessarily use outdoors, but seemed great…

Wonderful place to stay

Randy & Amanda were wonderful - great at communication and coordinating while also being very nice and understanding. My family and I were temporarily displaced from our home due to a plumbing emergency and Randy & Amanda got back to me quickly, providing us a great, cozy place to stay, and were also so helpful and flexible given my family's difficult predicament. Highly recommend this house as well as the hosts.

Birdhouse

We enjoyed our stay at the birdhouse. Lots of thoughtful touches like anacks, coffee and tea. Even the basement was cute. Only word of caution is the the ceilings in the basement are quite low. At 5' 9", i found myself having to duck in a couple of places.

Visiting from Montana to see My Fair Lady

I have stayed at literally dozens and dozens (I am 75 yrs old) of VRBOs in USA, Europe, Canada and Mexico. Cleanliness is my priority, then location and ambience, and communication with owner. This property knocked it out of the ballpark! I hope to stay again when rain does not prevent me from enjoying the lovely outdoor accommodations. The house is fantastic!

Lovely stay

We spent I think 3 nights here with my mother-in-law and 2 year old son. Very well cared for, "charming" little house, owners obviously take pride in their property. Lots of neat bird decor. Very clean, organized. Easy to fit right in and make self at home. Beautiful front yard. Close to amenities in town. Likely will choose this place for future visits.

The house was very accommodating for our family. Loved the location, could walk to coffee, shopping & stores. Only complaint is the living room seating. It’s uncomfortable. However the beds were very comfortable! We would definitely rent again.

Cute, cozy and convenient

This house is very clean and nicely appointed. Numerous small details from a snack basket to a heated toilet seat make guests feel welcome and appreciated. Randy was wonderful to work with. We requested a pack and play, and not only was it made available, it was set up in the bedroom when we arrived. We hope to stay again when the weather is warm enough to enjoy the porch and patio.

Great Cottage in a Quiet Neighborhood

The property was as advertised. It's an older house with lots of charm. Don't expect really fancy, but it has everything we needed. Our dog loved exploring the beautiful yard. We had my sis and her husband over for dinner on the patio. It is a wonderful setting. The house is nearby lots of shopping and restaurants. The only drawback was at 6' I didn't dare go downstairs. My wife made it, though. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. We highly recommend this property!!!!

The Bird House Spokane

We loved the Birdhouse! Charming bird-themed decor, lovely garden area with fountain. Everything was frozen solid wuth over a foot of snow. We happened tobtravel during the worst storm in a generation so we git stranded in Portland due to road closures and missed our first night! So, that was a waste since we did not get a refund. The only issue was that it’s super hard to figure the TV set-up. No worry for us since we weren’t travelling to watch TV, bu We strongly recommend this rental!

Charming cottage

Adorably decorated small house/cottage in a great neighborhood within 10-min drive of downtown Spokane. It was great for a girlfriend trip (3 of us), it would be perfect for 2 couples who were family or close friends. So clean. Beds/bedding/pillows were super comfy. The bedroom/bathroom situation is a bit odd, just know going in. 2 bedrooms upstairs, the bathroom is just inside bedroom 1 - not a big deal if you are all friends, we just left that bedroom door open and it was a communal bathroom. The 2nd bedroom and separate bathroom are in a basement (this is in the fine print). Not a "lower level" - it is a true basement, with back of the house narrow concrete steps down. They have done a fantastic job making it as cute as can be. But it's still a basement with concrete floors, exposed pipes, etc., if that's something that would bother you. The bedroom has 2 twin beds.

Perfect Stay at the Birdhouse

Every month, my daughter and I travel 404 miles to Spokane for medical reasons, and we stay at the Birdhouse quite often on those trips. We bring our little 5 lb dog, Maia with us too. Each time we stay it is perfect, just like the listing. The house and yard are well maintained and obviously loved from all the extra special touches such as nice landscaping, enclosed fenced yard, heated toilet seat, snacks, nice décor, fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to cook a meal and serve it (including nice appliances such as the fridge, stove and microwave) and more. There are dog toys and dog bowls as well. We have always just used the two upstairs bedrooms so we haven't tried the downstairs, but the beds are comfy, the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, so we sleep well. The driveway allows us to park our car off street which we prefer. Every trip to the Birdhouse has been really quite nice. After a long car ride, it is really great to be able to arrive at such an inviting house which is so nicely prepared and maintained for guests. There hasn't been any down side and we look forward to returning.

Cozy comfort with great charm

We really enjoyed our stay at the birdhouse. It was clean, comfortable and had immense charm. We needed a place to gather for my sons graduation that had a kitchen for family meals and space to visit. Beds were comfortable with nice linens and extra pillows, baths outfitted with plenty of plush towels and toiletries. Kitchen is small but easy to manage with a few people prepping. My only recommendation is to bring your own baking or cookware if your doing anything more than basics or reheating. It's not a negative for the property as I can understand why they wouldn't provide better cookware. Not everyone is careful with pots and pans or sometimes they come up missing. I'm a cookware snob so take this critique with a grain of salt. We didn't get a chance to use the outdoor space as it was 36-42 degrees out but it looked pretty great. I would definitely recommend this home for short term or long term rental. There were 9 of us hanging out and although it was a bit tight in the front room with the kitchen chairs brought in, we felt comfortable and at home. Thanks again Randy & Amanda!

What makes this property unique

This little cottage is located in a very serene, peaceful neighborhood. For relaxation, it's hard to beat. The yard is completely fenced off, which helps with those who bring their four-legged buddies!

The front yard looks like a masterpiece, always being groomed and maintained for your enjoyment. From time to time you may be there on mowing day, but we will do our best to mow and trim while you're away. If not, we will check with you to see if you'd mind if we proceeded with the mowing.

Security is an important feature in this day and age. The Birdhouse is located in a wonderful neighborhood, however, for the protection of our guests, as well as our property, there are three security cameras on the outside of the building. There is one covering the front entrance, one covering the back door and one in the driveway facing the street. These cameras are not invasive to your privacy, and are only monitored in the event of any criminal activity or accident that may call for a review of the security footage.

The parking is never a problem, as the driveway is very long and will accommodate all your needs. We would recommend that you park closer to the garage door to avoid the sprinklers hitting your car.
