This 400 SQFT studio has been designed to provide you with the comforts of an entire home with many eco-friendly features. It is a fusion of convenience and quiet within a natural setting. It was built to incorporate rustic, organic elements with contemporary features and to complement the surrounding Vermont beauty. Enjoy a view of the secluded backyard canopy from the back deck, or soak up the afternoon sun while feeling the breeze from the large front windows.

This cozy oasis includes a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a tranquil and open bedroom, a full bathroom, a heat pump, an electric fireplace, a private deck, and an entrance. It also has a washer, dryer, Wi-Fi, and a great couch to lounge on! There is even an outdoor storage space. Enjoy the open, tiled shower with a rain bath fixture and custom lighting options throughout the space. Be prepared to relax!

We are located one mile from bars, restaurants, and the nightlife of Winooski, but also only three miles from downtown Burlington. In addition, Bayside Beach in Malletts Bay is just three miles to the North where you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, and pedal boats during the summer months. It is a short drive from The University of Vermont, Saint Michael’s College, the Burlington Airport, and a half-hour from some of New England's best skiing.

Enjoy the full comforts of your studio apartment with an outdoor porch seating area and a large backyard, perfect for picnics or afternoon bird watching! We live on the property in the main house with our 9 year old miniature doxy-poo and are always available if needed!

**We are located in the Airport flight track, which means planes are often passing over us throughout the day and F35 training flights pass over us on a weekly but inconsistent basis. **

Perfect Accommodations and Location

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. The unit was as the pictures indicated. Everything is new, clean and comfortable. The unit has everything you would need for a short or long stay. The location is perfect, very close to UVM, downtown Burlington and highways. Morgan made everything easy. Would be happy to stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay!

Emily and Chris have created a beautiful space that is so comfortable, it immediately feels like home! It’s very inviting and quiet - we only stayed two nights but it was amazingly restful! Any trips we take to the Burlington area in the future will involve the Carriage House in our plans!

Fantastic place to stay!

Perfect spot to enjoy Burlington VT

This is an ideal location to visit Burlington, VT. It is located a little bit out of the city, but very easy to access. Winooski itself is a lovely town with some great restaurants. The studio apartment is beautifully outfitted with everything you would need.

Fantastic stay!

The carriage house was a perfect home-base for my visit to Vermont. An easy walk or bike ride to Winooksy, and a quick Uber ride to Burlington. Chris and Emily were incredibly nice, hospitable, respectful of privacy. Would not hesitate to recommend staying here, and hope to return again myself one day.

Great home base in Burlington

We enjoyed our stay in Chis and Emily's beautiful carriage house. The finishes were top notch and the back deck was the perfect spot to grill out and enjoy the evenings. Highly recommend as a home base when visiting the Burlington area. Only a 10 minute drive to the waterfront. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

An Awesome Space for Two!

This is a really well-designed space with everything we needed for a pleasant stay in Vermont! A terrific design. We loved having all the amenities such as washer/dryer, stove, oven, full size fridge. The bed is comfy and the fireplace added a nice ambiance. Surprisingly lots of storage space as well. Chris is a great host and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Lovely space!

We really enjoyed staying at the carriage house. The place is absolutely stunning. Chris and Emily have created such a wonderful and relaxing environment complete with everything you need to feel at home. The property is easily accessible to downtown Winooski and downtown Burlington and getting an Uber/Lyft was easy when we didn’t want to drive. We would love to stay here again.

Great Place

The carriage house was just perfect for the two of us. It was close to restaurants and Burlington. The mattress and bedding were super comfortable. Loved the ability to change colors on the fireplace flame. That was neat. The whole place was very well thought out.

Charming and cozy cottage

This property is a gem. Very clean and tidy, with the amenities of a much larger property. Chris and Emily were very easy to communicate with throughout the process. Location is great, with easy access to the airport, Burlington, and many mountain/nature excursions. Cozy and comfortable!

Great stay in wonderful carriage house!

This was our 2nd stay at Chris and Emily's. The accommodations were perfect for our week in the Burlington area. High end everything, including full size washer/dryer. We ate every meal on the deck and used the gas grill multiple nights. Easy access to the city and to the bike trails along the lake. Highly recommend!

Awesome Ski Weekend

Our weekend in Colchester at Chris and Emily’s carriage house was awesome. The apartment was beautiful and state of the art. We enjoyed every aspect of it including the fireplace and beautiful shower. Chris and Emily were extremely accommodating and easily reachable if needed. If we’re ever in the neighborhood again we’ll for sure be staying at Chris and Emily’s gorgeous carriage house.

I stayed here for five weeks but wish I could have stayed even longer! Beautifully designed and so clean. My favorite feature was the TV/fireplace console! Kitchen was stocked with everything I needed. Chris and Emily were wonderful hosts and so helpful- even shoveled and cleared snow from my car. Hoping to find another reason to visit Burlington soon so that I can stay here again!

I am from Belize and my husband, Ashton, is South African born and Vermont raised.
We are self employed and own a food tent at the Burlington Farmer’s Market called Cha Cha Garna and a film production company called Sharp Cheddar Films.
We have a 9 year old mini doxypoo that will certainly try to tell you hello during your stay!

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood for our first home because of its proximity to restaurants, the city of Burlington, and connections to main routes 7, 2, 15, and I-89.. We love the energy of Winooski, there’s always something to do.
We have some of the best tree cover that the neighborhood has to offer, while still getting great light from the sun 12+ hours a day (in the summer). The property and structures were sturdy, safe, and charming. We could not have asked for more.

What makes this property unique

1) Although biking and driving are of preference to get around, you can technically walk as far as Burlington from here, and it is a beautiful and mostly sidewalk-laden, stroll. There are bike lanes on the roads through Winooski and into Burlington.
2) Biodiversity (birds especially) and lush growth on the property while having [Vermont] urban proximity.
3) Definitely before, but now more than ever, this property is ecologically optimized and energy-conscious principles in use and available. We have a 5-star + building rating through Efficiency Vermont.
