Welcome to Sunset Ridge! Brand new in 2023, Sunset Ridge is an Amish-crafted Hochstetler log home, custom designed by the owners. Situated high atop a western slope with gorgeous views all around, you'll especially enjoy watching the stunning sunsets! Inside, you will love the easy, spacious, open floor plan, anchored by a massive kitchen island made of reclaimed Ohio barn wood, and a floor to ceiling stacked stone gas fireplace in the great room. Dekton counter tops, Amish made cabinets & furniture, and stainless steel appliances finish the chef's kitchen. On the lower level, a game table lounge makes way to two private bedrooms, and a full bath with a spa-like custom tile shower. Outside, plenty of parking space, a fire pit, picnic area, and a seasonal bunk house with two full size futons, a kitchenette, and attached deck provide multiple venues to enjoy the beautiful, high elevation wooded setting. Perfect for couples and small families of up to four, Sunset Ridge is the ideal base camp to explore the gorgeous Hocking Hills area. The cabin was beautiful inside and out, clean, safe, and has everything you could need.

We loved the layout of the cabin. It was so nice to have a separate upstairs and downstairs, as well as a beautiful deck with swings and rocking chairs. We appreciate the extra time it took to get Nick a card and gift card to Home Depot. That meant a lot to us! The beds and furniture were comfortable and everything was very clean.

Amazing cabin in the woods!

The cabin was perfect for four sisters staying a couple nights. The u-shaped porch was fantastic and where we spent most of the weekend. Easy to get to and close to Hocking Hills.

Cozy Cabin Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Ridge. The cabin is beautifully and functionally designed, incredibly clean and organized and provided everything we needed for our stay. It was close proximity to all the Hocking Hills top destinations. Fire pit was perfect to warm us up after our adventures and to roast s’mores. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

5 Star all around. This place was top notch starting with excellent communication from the host David all the way to a seamless check-out. This place was very tastefully built, designed, and decorated. I stayed here with my spouse and parents and it was perfect. Awesome amenities where wwe enjoyed cooking meals in the beautiful full kitchen, smores out at the campfire, and steaks on their clean charcoal grill. Every detail in this home was carefully thought and placed to make an un-forgettable stay, We look forward to reutnring through different seasons and enjoy this beautiful area and home again. Thank you for sharing such a remarkable home with us!

I felt like I was transported to a beautiful place outside of my daily life, to rest and reconnect.

The cabin was perfectly clean, well appointed and very relaxing. The two levels were fun to explore and it felt like we could do everything we enjoy or nothing at all. We were there in February so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor areas much but I’d love to come back for a sunset/sunrise in the rocking chairs on the porch.

The 3/4 wrap porch around is gorgeous and great for just hanging outside! Deer just walked right by as we were drinking our morning coffee. The cabin was spotless and very well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! The bed was very comfortable. The home was very nicely decorated and it felt like home away from home. The only negative we had was that we found a camera in the mantel. The property owners assured that it is only used during unoccupied times. We unplugged it because we have no way of ensuring that. The drive is very steep. We have a truck, so that wasn't an issue for us, but it might be for other vehicles.

Mom and daughter weekend

We stayed at Sunset Ridge for OU's Mom's weekend. The cabin was perfect. It was beautifully decorated, very clean, and had everything you could need or want. It was rainy all weekend but the covered porch allowed us to enjoy some time sitting outdoors. We did use the fireplace which was a nice feature on a chilly evening, however we could only leave it on for less than 10 minutes at a time because the provided handheld carbon monoxide sensor was reading 25 ppm. We tried again the next night and the sensor hit 40ppm after only 10 minutes of use. I work for a company that makes CO detectors so Im well aware of the effects and dangers of CO so we stopped using the fireplace and opened the windows until levels went back to 0. Not sure if those levels are normal for a vent free fireplace but that level could be dangerous for certain portions of the population like babies and the elderly. If using, I'd suggest keeping a window open out of caution. Other than that the place was perfect and we loved our stay!

As your hosts, Dave & Maria, we are blessed to have the privilege of sharing our family vacation cabin with you! Sunset Ridge began as a dream, spawned from years of hiking, vacationing, and exploring this glorious landscape we call Hocking Hills. A lifetime of hard work and saving led to the land purchase in 2015. For years, we used our beautiful property as a family campground, pitching a tent, and making wonderful family memories. The dream of a real log cabin finally started to hatch in 2021, when we set about to design our cabin as a family project. Our design pulled upon many of our past cabin rental experiences here in Hocking Hills, as well as cabins we loved in TN, NC, PA, & WV. With the design set, we then partnered with Hochstetler Log Homes and Hillside Construction; both Amish-owned Ohio companies. In December 2021, we broke ground, and by December 2022, we were putting the finishing touches on our beautiful new cabin! A true labor of love by all involved, how blessed we are to have worked with some of the finest craftsmen, and genuinely good people. We truly hope you will cherish your time here as much as we do!
