This was a perfect place to explore the Redwoods. You’re across the Smith River from access to the Jedidiah trail system with Stout Grove, Boy Scout Trail, Grove of Titans, and more. The house is thoughtfully appointed with everything you need, especially for travelers who flew in. While we did this as a couple, we thoroughly enjoyed making s’mores, playing ping pong, and taking in the river views in the morning and evening. I can’t wait to bring our teens and tween out next year on a roadtrip and staying here for our Redwood’s leg of that time. Excellent property, excellent location, and incredible hosts! 5 !

Perfect Home in the Woods

The hosts assisted with any questions, and were so sweet to get rain ponchos during our stay so we can enjoy the trails in the rainy weather. The house is beautiful and has everything you need and more.

Really great property with excellent amenities. Felt like everything and anything we needed had been anticipated. Hosts are fantastic. Location is amazing. The property was exactly what our family of 5 (three of which are teenage boys) needed. Plenty to do and plenty of space for everyone.

Wow is all i can say about this property! So many special details to make this stay so amazing. Right on the beautiful Smith river, chairs, kayaks, coolers all right there to use. So close to amazing Redwood trails to explore. Place was immaculately clean! Deserves more than 5 stars!

Unbelievable attention to detail and amenities made this place one of a kind. You can feel the love and care that Rene and Thom put into everything here. They are so helpful and responsive. So many options for activities and things to see and do, both at the house and in the area in general. But it’s so nice just to sit in the backyard and be present (all your senses awakened) that we did not feel compelled to try to do much other than spend time with family in these beautiful surroundings. 10 out of 10 for everything! Love it here! Be sure to take advantage of the “private beach”. It was such a contrast with the crowds of tourists on the trails across the River (although they are worth seeing, too!).

Amazing location!

Our 4 night stay was great! The house had everything we needed for our stay, and then some. Games, ping pong in the garage, Keurig upstairs, and so much more. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Communication with the hosts was perfect. They were available, but not intrusive.But the best thing of all is the location. Redwood trees in the front yard! The Smith River amazing, and in the summer would be even better I'm sure. Close to so many trails and Crescent City. Yet out of the way enough to feel like you staying in the middle of the Redwoods!

Spring Break getaway

Rene has a wonderful home. The house was fully stock with entertaining activities (indoor and outdoor). Gas BBQ grill was perfect for me to grill up some steaks, and if it wasn't so cold at night we would have made smores that Rene prepared too. And if you like coffee like my wife and I do, well this place has you covered. the master bedroom had a coffee maker so you can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning out on the balcony without going down to the kitchen and back up to the room. And in the kitchen, you can use their drip coffee machine or k-cup machine. The kitchen was well lite and had so much space to prep, cook and clean a meal. The front yard has so much space that I both my kids were able to run around and enjoy the beautiful environment. We played cornhole, Ladder toss, frisbee and even had room to long toss a baseball. Rene was a great host.
