Historic cabin built in the 1920's. Dr. Fine, the county's only doctor, used the cabin as his fishing getaway. The fishing hole is located at the big bend, just below the fork of the North and Middle Forks of the Smith River.
Nestled among the old growth Douglas Firs, and a quiet beach with private access, this cozy cabin has it all!
In all directions, are views of the pristine Smith River and National Forest. Birds are abundant! We are visited by Osprey, Kingfishers and a resident Bald Eagle. The yard brings songbirds and various bird species that provide hours of fun for birders.

Our stay at this cabin in Gasquet was amazing. It was even better than the pictures show. The owners are great and stopped by, even leaving fresh eggs! The four of us, including our teenage son and younger daughter, loved walking down to the river. What an amazing place being shared with so many others. We visited the Simpson-Reed Grove, Fern Canyon and Big Tree Wayside while we were there.
Hideaway in the redwood forest with a riverview. Relax and unwind with the sounds of the Smith River in the background. It was a beautiful, serene location. The cabin was comfortable and cozy with everything we needed for our stay. We loved it, and hope to return. great vacation.vacation
Cozy cabin with absolutely everything you need. Just bring your food and wonderful assortment of pans and spices to cook with. Close to mountains, redwoods, hiking trails, the Smith River, and at the right time of year - waterfalls! Not as secluded as we thought it might be, but still wonderful. We felt like we had complete privacy and we also felt safe. Thank you for sharing your cabin.
All positive comments in all the reviews are true! This little cozy cabin is even better in person. 3 days was not enough to visit all the nearby parks and trails and the rugged Oregon coast. The cabin was so homey to return to each evening. The beauty of the river is awesome! Thank you!
We had a long weekend and had been throwing the idea of doing the redwood national and state parks for a while. We split our trip up, one night in eureka and two nights here, and this was absolutely the highlight of the trip! We even cut some of our hiking time down to come back to the cabin and hang out by the river. The cabin was peaceful and quiet, and overall is was such a dream. We can’t wait to come back! Ps. My husband set off the fire alarm accidentally the first night and property owner was so very nice even though we were thoroughly embarrassed.
I have stayed here before and loved every minute I was there. I decided to stay a week and enjoy days hiking and exploring the Redwoods, Crescent City and a visit with my sister In Grants Pass. Having this lovely cabin as my home base was perfect. It has all the things you need to have a great trip. The owners are kind and helpful. It made a great base to have while I hiked, walked, drove through beautiful Redwoods, spent time at Crescent Beach, and ventured up to Oregon to Grants Pass and Medford. I enjoyed the stunning Smith River and waved at friendly rafters and kayakers. I could not have asked for a better time. Weather was outstanding. The cabin was warm and inviting after a day of exploring. Overall a grand time. I look forward to returning to this fantastic place.
Incredible stay; traveling with an infant and a toddler and a husky, and we were so impressed with how kid friendly, cosy and clean the property was. We came during a winter storm, and while we had issues with flooding and landslides in route, the property itself was everything we were hoping for. We will certainly be returning again!
This is a fantastic place to be, secluded and quiet, yet the river is right there to soothe you. Thank you for the opportunity to visit your excellent location.
We had an amazing time.
Definitely something to come back to. Great location, 25 mins to the coast, lots of incredible trails and beautiful scenery throughout the area. The property was immaculate, cozy and better then expected.expected
We could not have asked for a more perfect or relaxing time in this quaint cabin and majestical river. We loved the privacy and tranquility and feel blessed this special property is shared.
