The cabin is convenient for visiting the Heavenly Cal base, Al Tahoe park, Stateline, and close to Whole Foods. We enjoyed the convenience duing an extended trip with sunshine and snowstorms to enjoy.
The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked and the property is in a great location for either skiing or lake activities. The property does feel a bit dated - cracked tiles, stained carpets, and a very strong mothball odor - and would benefit from some comfort upgrades.
Had a great stay here, awesome and very responsive host and a nice, cozy home. Very close to Heavenly--close enough to walk if needed! Really well stocked kitchen if you plan to cook plus a nice selection of toys and books for the kids!
Great location with easy access to the mountain and town! The host was easy to reach and very helpful. Our package arrived after our stay ended and to the wrong address. The host was great it helping us locate and ship back to us!
Property accomadated the group very well. Location was great. Kitchen had everything we needed. Owners were very responsive. It was perfect to accomadate everyone's needs.
Walking Distance to the Heavenly California Lodge Ski Lifts!
Host was super responsive and accommodating. Being walking distance to the Heavenly California lifts saved us from dealing with the difficult parking situation with Heavenly. Parking there can fill up before the lifts even open!
We had a wonderful ski trip to Heavenly, largely due to the quality of the housing. The layout of the home was very good, we never felt crowded in the split-level layout, and the neighborhood was excellent. Walking distance to the California lift for very fit people if carrying all ski equipment, not really possible for the young or old. Communication with the host was excellent, and nothing was lacking in amenities. Hot tub was perfectly maintained, and the bedding and kitchen exceeded expectations. We would absolutely be willing to visit this listing again, as the surroundings were quiet and beautiful, and the housing was relaxing and fun.
Overall my extended family of 8 really enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable for all of us, and well-equipped with everything we needed (plenty of kitchen items and supplies, towels, bedding, snow shovels and sleds, games, plenty of hot water). It was clean overall though in need of several minor repairs. We did have trouble using the emergency number to contact the owner following snowfall to learn about help with snow removal, and had some difficulty navigating the steep road and access to the driveway during snowy weather. Otherwise location was great as we could walk to the Cal Lodge for skiing and Himmel Haus for dinner, and my kids especially enjoyed playing on the deck and warming up by the fire!
The property is aging and in need of several repairs and maintenance. Downstairs bathroom toilet badly stained . Water service work being done during the stay (which was not disclosed) left us waterless 1st morning of our stay. Be careful on the wooden decks you may get splinters. We did .

Thank you for your review. We replace both toilets to brand new Japanese style heated seat toilet. The city has water maintenance service that is out of our control. Though it dose not happen very often.
Property is an uphill walk 5-7 min (probably not do-able with small cchildren but fine for teens and up) to Heavenly resort (California base) and a 3 min drive into South Lake Tahoe. Host is very responsive and courteous. There are plenty of beds and bedrooms and space to spread out. The hot tub is excellent and the kitchen is a good size, and ghe garage offers space for gear. The hill can get icy if it dumps snow (not the owner's fault) so if you are driving in, ensure you come from the bottom of the hill. Overall had a great experience. We had 8 mid 30-year-olds and we were more than fine walking to the mountain each morning.

Pristine?
I will start with the positives. Great location, one min drive to the Heavenly tram, good communication, nice washer and dryer, and a newish refrigerator. Everything else in the house needs serious attention. Some people just don’t try to make their places “rentable”. The stove is broken, controls have fallen out. Over 1” gap behind the sink where all the grout fell out of the counter. You would have a very difficult time giving the couch away free, my daughter said she broke her butt sitting on it! There was a big wall where it looks like a big piece of art work hung, and they have a Christmas tree ornament hanging there. One bedroom had no shade, so we hung a sheet to block the sun. The bathrooms and kitchen are very outdated. Carpet may be original to 1960. We killed a number of spiders. Overall I would say the place is bare bones as you can get. If they spent $30,000 just doing some basic stuff and getting some furnishings the place could be great.
Thanks,
Ford

Hi Ford,
I am so sorry about that one piece of sofa. We had some guest's kids jumping on the sofa before your arrival. We ordered new sofa, it takes time to get here. Our housekeeping is usually pretty good at cleaning the house and get rid of the webs. Let me check with them make sure they are doing their job correctly. Thanks for your feedback.

great location, but barebones
The property is in a fantastic location if you're here for the skiing, just minutes fro the California base of Heavenly. I enjoyed the quiet back yard and deck. Would not rush to rebook this listing. The property and furnishing are extremely dated and it definitely needs a refresh. Little things were annoying such as the sheets in the master were badly stained and kind of gross and when i requested some replacements got a response that said it was just chlorine stains or something. The couch in the living room was broken and a couple of the cushions were badly sagging. There was a live electric fence on the back porch that is incredibly dangerous if you have kids or pets. The second day I got there the toilet backed up and overflowed. The house didn't have a plunger and it took hours to get a response and then the landlord charged me $200 for coming out to fix it and clean up which I thought was ridiculous. As an ST Rental owner my self I was very disappointed with the quality and responsiveness for this price point One of the worst stays I've had on VRBO.

Dear David,
Thank you for your valuable opinion. We are a family of travelers and understand how important cleanness is especially during the Covid. We sanitize our sheets and towels.
The sheet was stained during the wash. I am sorry that it bothered you. The electric fence is to prevent bear comes on to the deck. Bear and coyote visit the area frequently, and a few times came on the deck looking for food. So the fence is to protect the guest as well, especially kids. As for the toilet overflow, we provided the bin so you don't just put anything in the toilet. We want to let you know we did not charge you $200 for cleaning up your toilet overflow and your dog liter in the house, which cost extra for us. We try very hard to provide the best experience for our guests.
Had a great time staying at this cabin. Location is great, house was a bit dated. Front door knob was a joke. Overall a good experience but for the price you'd expect it to be perfect and well cared for.
I booked the cabin for a holiday retreat with my grown children and their SOs. We were delayed in arriving due to road closures from storms, but our host, Kayleen, was very accommodating and was able to shift our dates so we could maximize the time we had. The layout of the cabin is great, we felt we had plenty of space. It is walking distance to the lifts at Heavenly, making it very convenient for getting on the mountain. While it appears that the cabin hasn't been updated in a while, it was clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
There are a few not so great reviews that in the beginning made me thing twice. We booked it, we stayed here, and we loved it! Location was great, we got snowed in with the storm so played in the wonderful big backyard area. Hot tub was nice, house was accommodating. Host was very responsive. Great stay! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. My only recommendation would be to possibly clean the hot tub soon, but that’s all i can say other than great house great hosts and a great stay!
Hi, the furniture was bare bones. Internet was suspect throughout the trip. There were a couple rodents (Mice) that decided to hang out with us for the weekend. Light switches definitely need a lot of upgrading.

Hi Sarang,
Thank you for the stay and letting us the problem. About the internet, we have very good service. Sometimes, all you need to do is to turn off/on the modem. We could have helped you had we known. Also, about the mice, we are in the mountains, we have all sorts animals around. Sometimes they get in if you leave any door/patio door open. We will definitely will address/fix all other things in the house.

Nice deck with barbeque and hot tub. Interiors are a bit worn. No air conditioning.
Great property, great location. The only negative thing I would say is that the house could include more fans to cool down the property during the summer, but the wildfires were making it abnormally hot.

About the host
Hosted by Pristine cabin
We are Tahoe locals and we love ski, hiking, and relax by the lake in the summer. It's a truly amazing nature all year round!
Why they chose this property
We choose Heavenly because it is close to everything yet away from it all. It's a block to Heavenly ski resort/lift. Walking distance to Marina, the lake, whole foods, Heavenly village and casinos.
What makes this property unique
Relaxing on the sun drenched deck and soaking in the hot tub after a day at the ski slope surrounded by majestic pine and hearing the bird sing is truly magical!
