When we arrived there was a heavy mold/mildew smell. There was black mold on the upstairs windows and they were sweating. We called and they and they sent someone over right away to clean. They took care of the mold but the mildew smell remained. They offered to wipe the whole house down but we were there to enjoy our stay. They should have checked and cleaned the place before we arrived. There is a DIY trick you do to get rid of the mildew smell while you are there and we did. The AC/Heating unit is loud and doesn't dehumidify so mold and mildew is on everything. The place needs a deep cleaning. Stairs to second floor are steep and open on one side. The better shower is on the first floor so you have to shower down stairs. The upstairs tub shower is okay but the washer floods back up into the tub, a little disgusting. All the rugs are very dirty and the furniture dirty. Very disappointed with the cleaning and with VRBO, we paid a lot for this rental and because all the reviews said it was clean. The location was great and great access to Crescent Beach. We will not be back and are questioning the value of booking through VRBO.
