Wonderful home close to Marengo where our family lives. This was actually a rebooking for us as I had to cancel our previous booking due to needing to have surgery unexpectedly. They were great about working with us and allowing us to rebook. Loved the house, and all the games provided so we could get away from screens.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Came for the local caverns, but also did the canoe trip …conveniently located across the street from this property. The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of room and very nice. The only thing that might be a problem for some people is that there is just one bathroom and it’s on the main floor - bedrooms are upstairs. BUT, we would definitely stay there again!! Very nice place.
very clean, comfortable and accommodating. the host responded quickly to my question with clear communication. the kids loved all the treats, games, toys and beds. i appreciated the coffee!

My family of 8 stayed over night to visit the nearby Marengo Caves on our way to Nashville. We had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful with many thoughtful amenities. The host was great to work with and even left us snacks and drinks. We woukd definitely stay here again.
We stayed one night while traveling home from vacation. We decided to check out the Marengo Caves, and this listing was nearby. The house is beautifully updated with all the comforts you could need. The children loved it too. Spacious, clean, separate hangout spaces, front porch, beautiful bathroom, treats in the kitchen, stocked game cabinets. We would stay here again!
My son and husband were celebrating their birthdays by seeing Marengo cave. The host had a birthday cake and balloons for us! We loved drinking coffee and tea on the porch. This place was super cute! Not far, is Van’s family restaurant which was also great. There is a river nearby great for walking. They have games to play and comfy couches with blankets making this a cozy retreat. I highly recommend!
My son & I had had a wonderful stay. We didn't ' nead " such a large beautiful place, but I couldn't pass up the deal as we came to the arena to run a race through the Marango cave. We were delighted by so much more The home and area had to offer (including a canoe livery just a property or two down.) The host worked well with us. Check each of the 5 beds for comfort as the mattresses seem to very in firmness. Thank you. We were thrilled.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
The main living room furniture were horrible, felt very used and cushions offered little support. Possibly picked up from a yard sale. Bathroom shower floor is very slippery, I found out the hard way. When I slipped my foot slid in to the wall causing my foot to be black and blue the next day along with pain. Not good decision making when it came to that shower base. The TV and the mini split remotes in the living room controlled each other, weird. Possibly since both are b is the 2.4 ghz.

I find your rating to be very curious since you had received a very harshly worded email from VRBO about the dogs you had in my house when we have clearly stated a no animal policy in our house. We are very sensitive with allergies and want anyone to feel comfortable in our home with our no animal policy. You did not ask if you could have dogs in our house, but we clearly saw them go in and out on our security cameras. You sent me a message stating that the house is very nice! I was very accommodating even though you had extra guests stay that were not on the reservation. I do not have any messages from you regarding any issues in the house or with you. Just the positive messages in our correspondence.
The house has been fully renovated and everything in the house is in great shape. Our shower floor is stone and textured. We had two very large thick plush Christmas rugs to step on from the shower. There has never been one complaint on our bathroom this entire year. We have actually had RAVE REVIEWS about our nice shower especially with the double shower heads.
I do not appreciate your comments especially after you received the VRBO email. We had to deep clean the entire house to make it livable again.
Thank you for opening our eyes to be more aware of guests like you.
My wife and I booked this rental for a quiet birthday getaway—our first time with this type of stay. Prior to arrival, the host communicated quickly, but after that we only heard from her once we arrived and learned VRBO had double-booked the property, which seems to be a not-uncommon occurance. She handled it well and got us in, though the mix-up made for a stressful start. The home itself is very nice, spacious, and clean. The biggest issues with the home were one rooms couches had some stains, there were no curtains on the front door so you saw people as they walked by, and the kitchen only had tools for basic cooking. That said, every room was comfortable, with Roku TVs and mini-split AC units that worked great (though I wish I’d figured out how to dim the display at night). The king bed was extremely comfortable, though as the only bathroom is downstairs. The shower had enough pressure, was adjustable, and has a nice bench. The host was apologetic about the double booking and even dropped off muffins, but an unexpected and unannounced visit after dark was unsettling. The house is right across from the canoe rental place, so expect plenty of foot, golf cart, and motorcycle traffic but it makes for nice people watching. While the booking issue and a few quirks kept it from being perfect, it was far from a bad experience. We’d stay again with better planning and more proactive communication to make sure VRBO doesn't mess up again.
I am a Crawford County native! My family loves our beautiful county and all it has to offer!
Why they chose this property
Milltown is small but adorable! The Blue River is located across the road from the house. We are neighbors with Cave Country Canoes and are steps away from the lighted bridge! Sit on the benches by the river and enjoy the water flowing over the dam.
What makes this property unique
Our location is perfect to sit on the front porch and relax to watch the lights change on the bridge in the evening. There are murals painted on buildings down the street from the house and the painted canoes all within walking distance from the house.
